KUMI Japanese Restaurant + Bar Las Vegas Reviews from The Last Year
Unacceptable
Staff were aggravated we were there. The bar service was horrible and there were no selections. It was simply buy a $100 bottle of wine or a $100 bottle of saki.
Its crazy when the appetizers kick the entrees butt.
We started with the steak tartare and it was one of the best Ive had. The milky bread that came with it complemented it perfectly. I had to order more to sop it up. We also started with the beef jerkey which takes 45 mins to come out, but it was well worth the wait. Tender pieces of beef with a tangy asian sauce to dip in. It was the best jerkey Ive had. My Lycee martini drink was also delicious. It was fresh, sweet, with a house made raspberry puree. The Shogun roll was the last of the food items I enjoyed. It was recommended by our server and Im glad we got it. My salmon entree was a bit dry and the key lime sauce was minimal. I got it for the key lime sauce and it was not worth it. I also found a piece of bone in it. We got the japanese tres leche cake for dessert which I thought would be moist with a soggy sponge cake more similar to traditional tres leche but it was also on the dryer side even with a milk pour. The Cherry Blossom room was nice and comfortable to sit in. If you go before 5pm, you shouldnt have a problem getting a table with good service.
Beautiful place with Japanese decor and would usually sit
Beautiful place with Japanese decor and would usually sit at bar which this time we sat in cherry blossom room. White linen dinner experience. Started with tea and bottle sparking water and rock shrimp. Very tasty appetizer for two as shared plate. Had miso blackened cod which was delicious but needed some kind of starch. Had Kumi fried rice to pair. Hubby had the jidori chicken and mashed potatoes as he devoured it tender chicken slices. Of course we had to try dessert only there is tres leche cake which looked like a little alien but tasted divine. I would recommend dinner there between 5-6:30pm as we left by 7pm the section we sat at was almost full.
We had reservations to eat at Kumi last night.
Upon arrival we were informed by the waiter that they didn't have any white wine! I thought that must be a mistake so I headed to the bar to ask the bartender and she confirmed that they had zero white wine. What nice restaurant is out of all white wine? We left and went to Orla, which had an amazing wine list!
A very nice tiny experience.
More at the higher end for restaurants and pricing (remember, you're getting fresh fish flown in daily to the desert!). The service was very good and the atmosphere was cozy and intimate. Individual sashimi and sushi prices can add up quickly. There are several options which will, at $90 a plate, offer a huge selection of either and plenty to fill you up. Having read previous reviews, we were cautious of a 5% surcharge to look for on the bill. Sure enough it showed up and when we question our waitress she had it promptly removed. We recommended that well it's noted and very tiny print at the bottom of the menu that it either be folded into the price of the food or mentioned by the staff to avoid any surprises to customers. Unfortunately, this particular experience caused them to lose a star in my opinion and was not reflective of food, quality or service. While there is a full bar, sake is only offered by the bottle, at ultra premium prices, meant for either an expense account dinner or a special splurge. Enjoy quality food, but be prepared for some sticker shock!
Located in Mandalay Bay Service was fantastic.
Had the shrimp, edamame, and Shishito peppers for an appetizer. All were excellent, especially the shrimp. Sea bass delicious. Highly recommend.
Well hello extremely over priced sushi.
Popped in for a super quick bite, the place we wanted to go was packed and short on time for a show. So, sushi bar empty-wonder why... Ordered a couple things and didn't order a few things. Sake was $150 at the least amount. A protein roll was $60. Rainbow $25 I think. Believe me, I eat sushi all the time, and this did not warrant the pricing. Wasn't an insane Nobu dining experience. The place was nice, elegant decor. The sushi staff was lifeless. No personalities. Super disappointed. Would never dine here again.
Okay, so hear me out.
The prices are quite ridiculous however we tried the chefs sushi set. And holy moly I would order it again. The sushi was so good and one of the top sushi dishes we have ever had. We have been here before and had a sushi roll which was okay but not worth it. But after trying the sushi set, I have to say wow! So good and the servers are so nice and helpful. Drinks are good and atmosphere is wonderful. If you are a local or visiting, give Kumi a try.
Every time I come to Mandarin Bay I have to visit here.
It's a spot that I can't miss service is awesome. The quality of the Sushi is incredible.
Wow I'm blown away from this place!! Definitely the best
Wow I'm blown away from this place!! Definitely the best sushi in Vegas and one of the best I've ever had!! If you a sushi lover run to this gem!!
Amazing Japanese restaurant.
The service was amazing. We were served by Larani, I am not sure if I am spelling her name correctly. She was amazing server. She was so knowledgeable regarding what they serve. She knows their drinks, cocktails, Japanese whiskeys and sake. We order the sushi combo platter which was more than enough for the four of us. The fish tasted soooo fresh. The sashimi fish cuts are thick and they were so delicious. Their sushi rolls were so tasty.
Terrible service from Ms Pink at a cherry blossom Japanese
For the price tag I expected something a little more unique in terms of what the menu offered . Came in with two kids the waitress did not enjoy it very much , our table was ghosted considering we did have kids and probably required forks etc. but not a suggestion in hand . Water was down to the bottom and we were slurping on ice. For the price you expect better service. Had 3-5 different people bringing in food but had to constantly be in search of the waitress even though the restaurant was less than half full. Would I recommend this place definitely NOT would I ever come back? Definite NOT! There are far better places in the area that offer similar food with similar decor with much better service. I’m not sure how you hire somebody with Pinks attitude to serve at an established as this very off putting attitude better belong at a rock bar. You’d think a restaurant of this callibar would be a little more attentive given it was a quiet night. Disappointing, left with a sour taste in our mouth , absolutely terrible service .
Overpriced and not family style.
This place is grossly overpriced for what you get. The waiter said the dishes were family style but there was barely enough to feed one person. Please don’t promote your dishes as family style as it isn’t possible to share the dishes. It is very misleading. Overall, everything tasted fine but there just wasn’t enough. We spent $600 for 4 and then our men went out for burgers.
Was a 5 but now a 4
We’ve eaten at Kumi at least a dozen times both as a couple and with family. We typically order black cod, wagyu gyoza, egg plant along with fried rice. All cooked to perfection: Black cod - lovely thin crusty ‘miso’ like glaze that melts in the mouth Egg plant - crispy skin with melted mozzarella and sweet miso glaze - perfect Wagyu gyoza - drop the 🎤 I don’t think there is better in the world. Fried Rice 🍚 - here is the big let down from 2023. For those big portion eaters, you will be disappointed as the volume is around 1/4 of the egg fried rice previously prepared. That wasn’t a deal breaker for us. However, the chefs seems to inflexible on adapting the menu. I wanted to add shrimp but the Chefs were not willing to add. I would be cool with this if it’s wasn’t for the fact that it was a Japanese Sushi 🍣 restaurant so there should be a clue in there somewhere….All this and priced at $16 which hadn’t changed in 2023 (ie less for more). Service from front desk to table side was exemplary. It’s a shame that either change of management, cost pressures or inflexible chefs slightly spoilt the experience. I think the 4 rating is fair, but for $150 meal for two with no alcohol. You are in Hakkasan league price wise but unable to punch in the same league
Top sushi in the city
We’ve been to a lot of sushi places in Vegas (including private dinners and experiential dinners where only a small amount of people sits across from the chef) and Kumi is up there. In short, if you like sushi go to Kumi. Food What we love about Kumi is that it’s one of very few places that has both great sushi and great non-sushi food. Most great sushi restaurants kill it with their maki/nigiri/sashimi but then anything else you order is whatever. At Kumi you can eat delicious food without ever even ordering a piece of sushi. Service The staff is nice and attentive. We did have one server at least 3 times and she never seems to remember us which is weird and rare in Vegas, but apart from that it’s all good. Vibe It’s a bit of a mixed bag. The restaurant looks nice, but it is at the Mandalay Bay next to the expo so it’s sort of like putting a great and upscale sushi place by the grand central station in New York. Just brings the vibe down a bit. Still very nice place once you’re in though. Overall Go here and eat sushi. Period.
The best Japanese dinner…
The best Japanese food in my entire life. We ordered a plate of “Sushi Moriawase” and it was spectacular, it is difficult to describe how tasty each bite of sushi or each niguiri is. The softness of each bite was indescribable and the flavor was even better. Wasabi had real power. My drink was a matcha tea and I immediately realized that although I have bought and prepared many matcha teas, I was far from doing it well. In the end, a sweet and white chocolate dessert to die for. The prices are expensive, but it is worth it. The only way I can understand the bad comments is because they found the prices very high and had no other way to express themselves. Totally recommended, if you are willing to pay a little more… The service of the young woman who served us was at the level of a top restaurant, all the time.
The worst experience in vegas
What a disappointment it was. We been there last year at it was magical dinner. So a week ago when we came to vegas the first dinner we rush to kumi. It was terrible. The waiter tell us lies about was suppose to be hot and cold. The sushi wasn’t glued like it should be. From the top restaurant in vegas it became the don’t go restaurant in vegas. What a waste!
Unless business, too expensive.
Way to expensive for the quality and quantity of the fish. Average sushi. Nice decor. Convenient location but the expense is just not resonance.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

Worked so well! I was a bit nervous, but everything went very smoothly. purchased the reservation, and got into the restaurant seamlessly.
Love this app!
So glad I came across this app :)
Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal
So easy and had a prime time which I can never seem to get on normal res apps. So worth it
Got impossible NYC res
instead of waiting weeks I got my 4 charles reservation instantly
Worked perfectly to get into Carbone. So delighted
perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
