Gordon Ramsay au Trianon Versailles Reviews from The Last Year
A must for dinner when staying at the Waldorf
Chose the degustation menu for dinner during our stay at the Waldorf. Food and service were of the quality expected for a Michelin star restaurant.
Past Perfect
When the magic happens... A sumptuous setting The service is professional, attentive and accessible An ultra-complete wine list for all budgets The gourmet culinary experience meets the demands of the most gourmets The “touch” of northern Italy thanks to chef Gabriele Ravasio allows us to travel with indulgence It is among other things, for all these good reasons, that we will return with joy to sunny days
Dinner at Versailles
Beautiful experience at the gates of Versailles Fantastic menu Excellent service And an interesting and workable wine list 100/100 recommended Thank you all!
The most memorable dinner experience
We reserved the chefs table for dinner and it was the best dinning experience we have had. The service was outstanding, staff were very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable with the menu. The wine list was quite extensive, so we asked for them to choose a red and it did not disappoint. We selected the 7 course menu. The dishes that were created are hard to describe just how fantastic they tasted. The attention to every ingredient chosen for each dish, just made for each course outdoing the last each time. My favorite dish was the wild turbot. It's not often that when I eat a dish, my eyes close involuntarily. If you've seen the movie ratatouille, when the food critic Anton Ego takes his first bite of the ratatouille dish, this is the best way for me to describe just how wonderful the food was. Especially the turbot. I would highly recommend this place and suggest to eat at the chefs table, not only do you get to watch how a highly organized kitchen runs, but you also are able to get to know the chef a little bit and understand the passion that he and his team have to creating the dishes we all get to enjoy. We will definitely be back to the chefs table at Gordan Ramsey Au Trianon in Versailles for another wonderful dinner.
So well
Gentlemen judges!!! This starred restaurant fully deserves its second star. From start to finish, the welcome, the setting, the decor, the food! Everything is done to offer us a successful and gastronomic evening. The wines add up, certainly, but the moment is tasty
menu for anorexic
Booked two months in advance for a wedding anniversary, when we showed up...there was no room. Recognizing an error, we are offered a glass of champagne as compensation. On 18.10, we were finally comfortably seated and after ordering an aperitif, a waiter brought us a tray containing two excellent appetizers presented on a bed of peanuts. To finish my cup I took a peanut and I saw the waiter arrive (running) who told me not to eat these peanuts, they were only there for decoration (unheard of)! We ordered the 5 course menu. The second: Deer. On the plate too: five tiny slices lost in the forest, approximately 4cmx2cm by 1mm thick. I taste a slice without the sauce out of curiosity: no taste and cold. So I end up with the very good sauce like all the sauces offered (with a venison we must be able to serve at least 200 customers) had we eaten too much bread? The last one: A trout finally...not whole. In the plate, which was too large, a small cube the size of a piece of sugar...it was the trout which was swallowed in one go and without bread because the basket was empty despite two reminders. Perhaps we ate too much with the sauces. (With one trout you can serve 30 people). The desert: Magnificent with finally a decent portion. The wine, mostly foreign, was ok without more and the quantity was sufficient. Ah a good French wine...nothing better. This is the third time we have gone to a MICHELIN starred restaurant that offers 'tasting menus' and it is the last time. Poor BIBENDUM, your master has lost his mind. We were in VERSAILLES that evening, MOLIERE was at the “piano” and he served as our PRECIOUS RIDICULOUS .
Exactly as expected… wonderful.
Celebration birthday dinner with friends. The restaurant provided the perfect combination of informal but consummately professional service. The room is beautiful, the food was of course wonderful, the service was fabulous. My birthday was acknowledged with a sweet treat in a charmingly understated way.
A star worth three!
Having eaten in many triple and double starred restaurants, I don't understand why this establishment only has one macaroon. Both the service and the dishes offered deserve to be better rewarded! We usually take the tasting menus to get a good overview of the dishes on offer. Often, of these dishes only one or two remain in our memories that really appealed to us. From our experience at the Trianon, almost a month later, we are left with a festival of flavors in our minds and mouths. Congratulations to the whole team ! It will now be difficult for us to stay in Versailles without dining with you.
disappointing
The place is magnificent, the presentation extremely refined, the textures mastered. The visual is assured. However, a word of advice: have a snack before going to dinner. The portions are so small that you can't taste it. The “Seafood” entry consists of TWO cockles and ONE mussel. The trout comes with SEVEN coconut beans (I counted them!). The beef fillet (excellent by the way) had to weigh at most 50 g, or even less. I was expecting the reduced portions of these Michelin-starred restaurants, but here we are bordering on the ridiculous. For almost €170, I hoped for a minimum of consideration for the customer, or at least a taste emotion. And what about a glass of champagne costing €45? As for the welcome, polite, almost warm, why send an email the day before to find out if there is a special occasion (birthday, which was the case) if you don't pay the slightest attention?
Blessed!
Enjoyed our visit immensely. I was genuinely surprised by almost all the dishes. The main course (beef) was the least successful for me (spices were not sufficiently mixed in the sauce à la minute and the overall taste of the ebly with parmesan was too stale for me). The black fig is my absolute favorite! We weren't stuffed so we left with a wonderful feeling of satisfaction. Coincidentally, we went to Hof Van Cleve for dinner in June, but many more were surprised by this. Very friendly staff, the sommelier was not there with his thoughts, we said in advance that we wanted a good glass of red wine with the main course, but he completely forgot. I also didn't find him very reactive in terms of advice.
