Cornet New Orleans Reviews from The Last Year
Give the Coronet A Try
Stopped by for lunch before leaving for the airport. Wanted someplace close to our hotel (Saint Marie). Husband had a shrimp poboy. He enjoyed it. I had a seafood Cobb salad. Huge. At least six jumbo shrimp and lots of crayfish. All the things that make it a Cobb, bacon, cheese tomatoes and avacado. I ate all the seafood and salad I could and I didn't put a dent in it. Can't comment on drinks since we decided to go non alcoholic our last few hours. Would definitely go there again. Gentleman who seated us was very attentive and friendly.
Very good PoBoys
We had lunch. Husband had catfish PoBoy and I had shrimp PoBoy. Both were very good. Husband said best catfish he's had other than his own fresh caught fish. Service was good Balcony on Bourbon Street was lunch with a view
mediocre at best
the restaurant is in a great location & has an interesting story associated with Louis Armstrong but that's where the positive aspects end. The foods is really overpriced for the quality & the portions are sadly small. What really annoyed us though was the automatic tip that was applied. I make up my own mind how much to leave as a tip so this was NOT appreciated since the service was NOT worth even 15%.
French quarter casual family restaurant
Family friendly, well served plates and fantastic shrimp cocktail sauce!! Casual atmosphere and reasonable priced food.
Favorite Balcony in NOLA
The food was expensive, but pretty good. We had fantastic service at the balcony. Even though it was pretty packed upstairs, my soda was never empty and my husband always had a drink. It's probably my favorite balcony on Bourbon St. Great people watching.
Yammy Yammy
Delicious food! On the balcony on Bourbon Street. Then you'll be a bit out of the worst of the noise. I had a shrimp platter and it was AMAZING!
Typical French Quarter restaurant to discover
Ideally located in the heart of the French Quarter. Possibility of eating on the 1st floor balcony. Very friendly and attentive service. Very good Creole cuisine, especially shellfish and fish. Good desserts.
Avoid, I was totally disappointed in the Cornet!
I have been going to New Orleans for over 30 years. I was excited to finally try the Cornet. That excitement quickly turned to regrets. The service was terrible. The food was nothing to write home about. Their hurricane was almost not drinkable. I would avoid as there are so many other dining options in the area.
So we were walking around trying to find a place for lunch
So we were walking around trying to find a place for lunch and a guy standing outside of this establishment with a menu in hand encouraged us to try. So glad we did. We got a great seat upstairs looking over Bourbon Street. there was a band across the street so we had the benefit of listening to music without it being blaring in our ears. The server was excellent, very attentive. We opted out for drinks, but they have a great drink menu. We both ordered pasta and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place.
The service from Marissa was the worst I've had down here.
On a not very busy day took her 11 minutes to greet us. Another 10 minutes to bring a beer that was hot. Another 23 minutes to bring a cold beer. Then slammed the ticket down when we asked for our check. Will never be back here and would warn others as well. On the bright side the other staff seemed nice and the food was above average.
Everyone on staff was so nice except our waitress Marissa.
I am unsure of how she has a job, let alone a job as a server. It took over 15 min to even be acknowledged and 20 more to receive a hot beer to which she goes oh are they warm.....which then took another 20 minutes to receive a draft beer which arrived about the time we were taking our last bite. Asked for the check and she brought it back and threw it on the table. To preserve the cool ambience of this bar, I highly recommend getting rid of her because everyone else who had a different server seemed to have a much better experience.
Good bar vibe
We stopped in for a few beers after walking around town as it looked welcoming with all the doors open onto Bourbon St. They greet you and seat you. Nice atmosphere to hang out for awhile and good prices on domestic beers.
What a great place on Bourbon.
Very crowded for St Pattys Day. Host and bartender are terrific! Did not eat but saw dishes passing by and everything looked amazing.
Booked this location for a reception for my wedding.
They were exceptionally easy to work with and overall the service from them was incredible. The food was perfect and the drinks at the bar were great too. Planning a wedding is like pulling teeth sometimes and this location was by far the easiest place to work with. They were kind, patient, and professional every step of the way. I cannot seriously thank them enough for how awesome they were.

It depends what you're there for.
.. The location is great for people watching. They have a large, upstairs balcony overlooking Bourbon St, so if you're wanting somewhere to get off the street, have a drink, and people watch, there are certainly worse places you could end up. That said, we tried the gumbo and it was hands down the worst we ate the entire time we were in the city. They also don't list their drink prices on the menu, and (spoiler alert) they're not cheap lol. I ordered an old fashioned that was undrinkable, and my wife had two cocktails that may or may not have actually contained any alcohol. At the end of the day, you know what you're getting any time you venture down to Bourbon St. If you want a balcony to people watch from, it's a fine place... just do yourself a favor, skip to food and stick to beers while you're there. There are plenty of better spots for food and cocktails within a block or two any direction.
Very cool to sit out on the balcony for dinner over looking
Very cool to sit out on the balcony for dinner over looking Bourbon St and steps away from Preservation Hall. Dinner at 5:30pm and didn't have to wait for a table. The music on the street was loud even at this early hour and mostly the club music, but still nice to be outside. The food was good and the service was pleasant and attentive. Had the fried alligator, Caesar salad and Cornet Garden salad, which was the best of all - so much blue cheese! Delicious

The menu had many choices so we were all able to get what we were looking for and we all enjoyed our meals. We got to sit out in the balcony, which made for a great view.
Fried Redfish! This was an amazing dish served with mashed
Fried Redfish! This was an amazing dish served with mashed potatoes. The service was great. They were polite and efficient. It's quieter than the street itself so it wasn't too nosy here. I would definitely come here again, the food options are pretty unique.

There are 2 ways to do Mardi Gras: on the ground, amongst the crowds and from above, on a balcony. If you're the type who wants to participate, but can only take the crowds in small doses, then the balcony package may be right up your alley! A hotel during the day, the Cornet boasts a 5-hour balcony deal that includes food AND drinks for an amazing price. Plus, the wristband allows for in-and-out privileges throughout the night. From the balcony, you get a bird's eye view of the partying in the streets below. This makes for some entertaining people watching, but also an opportunity for interacting with the crowds as they compete for the attention of those with "throws" (those are the infamous beads for which Mardi Gras is so well-known). As an aside, most of the festivities that take place past 5:00pm are rated PG13. As the night wares on, the party pushes an X rating. Keep this in mind if you're thinking about bringing young ones. As for the drinks, they stick to the basics (I mean, it's bottomless, so I get it). The menu is limited, but what they lack in variety, they make up for in flavor! After tasting their Red Beans, it became a toss up for who had the best; the paddleboat cruise we took, or this one on the balcony. Same with the Gumbo! So good! It was easy to emphasize the "fat" in Fat Tuesday. If you're looking for a balcony experience where you can people-watch and throw some beads to the crowd, I highly recommend this deal. With food and drinks included, this was a great package!
The food, service and ambiance of this place is amazing .
I always get the gumbo with an extra side of rice (preference) keyaira has amazing energy great skills and is all around an amazing person

When I saw this bowl of rice I knew immediately it was gonna be delicious. The smell alone drove me to tears. This is the Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya. This place was highly recommended by our tour guide and she says it's her personal favorite.
The food and atmosphere were actually pretty good.
I'm just don't like the server adding automatic gratuity for a party of 2. Who does that? Hint. You would have gotten a better tip if you just let me decide
