Cocina Hermanos Torres Barcelona Reviews
Unbelievable!
Unbelievable Experience! True fine dining at a different level compared to other Michelin Star restaurants that we have been to. The passion is felt in every dish with the amazing textures, fragrance and layers of flavor. This experience was the highlight of our trip to Barcelona. We had a deep appreciation not only for the amazing food, but the service was incredible- seeing the chefs interact with customers was also very special. We hope to be back one day!
Disclaimer: I have not dined here.
However I did attempt to make a reservation for 4 months in advance for dinner for a single diner. I will echo what many stated on this platform about extremely bizarre reservations tactics: I was told by reservations team ' due to high demand for reservations we are only taking solo bookings from Tuesday's during lunch time. ' Wow, just wow! Like many others who have reviewed this place--I'm not new to fine dining or to Michelin stars dinging. However this is perhaps the most disingenuous and money focused practice I have ever encountered from a dining establishment! So solo diners are resigned to non popular times because dinner is for the multiples that invariably bring in $$$ Solo diners keep it moving to an establishment that values your discerning taste and desire to appreciate an experience rather than one that classifies you according to your spend. For all diners at large, this exclusionary practice is telling and reflective of many things.
Outstanding gastronomic experience
As a person like me, with a philosophy of "Travel because of great meals", this restaurant still impressed me in many aspects, a true gastronomic journey for me. Personally, I like this restaurant the most after eating at all the four Michelin stars restaurants in Barcelona. The food is excellent. Each dish is well curated, in both the texture, taste and presentation. You feel you are welcomed by all the people in the restaurant and the staffs tried to talk to us despite we can't speak Spanish. And the ambience is superb. If I can only go to one of the fine dinning restaurants in Barcelona, this restaurant would be my choice.
Cocina Hermanos Torres is one of the best restaurants in
Cocina Hermanos Torres is one of the best restaurants in the world. The restaurant is a 360 degree open kitchen design which allows guest to witness the action. The brothers greet the guest as they come in and then they get to work. This dinner was memorable as the bread service kept coming and each dish was spaced out in a decent time frame in the 2/2.5 hour dinner service. They don't have a cocktail menu but they can make any cocktail you like or they can create one for you. The highlights of my meal was the taco which was suppose to be a prologue to the main savory dish. That lamb taco was the best taco I've ever had then followed by the lamb which was phenomenal. I was able to get extra sauce to dip my bread in once I finished the dish. I also enjoyed their take on asparagus which was solidly crafted. Their desserts were delicious as well. The chocolate dish was one of my favorite desserts I've had at these types of restaurants. This was my favorite meal of my stay in Barcelona and one of my favorite meals I've had in the Michelin arena.
Gorgeous restaurant in Barcelona.
My husband made reservations for us to celebrate my 50th birthday. The restaurant has an open concept so the kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant. It was a very cool experience to see what happens in a restaurant kitchen. My kids are 10 and 7 and the pre fixe menu had nothing that they would eat. The restaurant made simple pasta for both and they absolutely loved the freshness. Excellent food and service!
I genuinely cannot comprehend how this so-called restaurant
I genuinely cannot comprehend how this so-called restaurant holds three Michelin stars. After spending over 500 euros per person during the World Mobile Congress, we were subjected to what can only be described as a chaotic, overpriced, and flavorless disaster of a meal. First off, the service was a complete joke. The servers were rude, confused, unprofessional, and clearly disorganized. It felt like no one had a clue what they were doing, as if a group of amateurs were suddenly handed the keys to a fine dining establishment and told to wing it. We were left wondering whether we were guests at a restaurant or unwilling participants in some bizarre hospitality school experiment. Then came the food--cold, salty, and utterly devoid of flavor. Every dish tasted like someone just upended a salt shaker over mediocre ingredients and sent it out. It wasn't just bad--it was offensive to the palate. There was no creativity, no balance, no soul. Honestly, street food vendors in Barcelona serve food with more heart, flavor, and finesse than whatever was dumped on our plates here. To make things worse, the Torres brothers were nowhere to be found. If you're going to charge these astronomical prices and trade on the prestige of your name, the very least you could do is show up and ensure your kitchen isn't a total circus. But no--clearly, this place was just open to cash in on the World Mobile Congress crowd, with no intention of delivering anything remotely resembling a Michelin-level experience. It was clear that during our visit, the inmates were running the asylum. Everything felt disjointed and mechanical, the ambiance was disappointing, and no one actually cared about the food or the guest experience. And if this is what they're serving to international visitors during such a major event, I shudder to think what locals are subjected to. We dined at several Michelin-starred restaurants throughout during our visit to Barcelona, and Lasarte, also with 3 stars, was an absolute standout--the polar opposite of this train wreck. In fact, this place wasn't just worse than other Michelin-starred restaurants--it was worse than ANY restaurant we've been to in Europe. Period. In conclusion: this was hands down the worst meal we've had not just in Barcelona, but anywhere in Europe. The fact that this restaurant has not one, not two, but three Michelin stars is an absolute travesty. It makes a mockery of the entire system and leaves us wondering whether the Michelin inspectors were even awake when they visited. Avoid at all costs. Spend your money anywhere else--you'll thank yourself later.
Outstanding Dining Experience, Creative Menu
This place is worth the hype. The menu was so creative, and I enjoyed all 16 courses. I appreciated that the chefs were willing to substitute courses based on preferences and allergies. The atmosphere is very unique and I enjoyed my lunch here a lot.
Outstanding
The setting is just perfect if you love food the way I do: Tables are arranged around the main cooking and staging area, i.e., you get to see the action while you enjoy the different bites. On arrival, both chefs (brothers) immediately came to the table for a meet and greet. Staff were extremely professional and friendly. Most definitely 3-star service all around. They were there when needed and otherwise merely floating around the space. Chapeau! Every single bite served was absolutely delicious. It is hard to pinpoint a favorite given that each bite had its own character and flavor profile. The bread (which will be replenished as long as you can stash it away...) is outer worldly. An amazing crust with the softest anti-crust (the center part, not sure there is a word for it in English) inside. Perfect to mop up sauces. The wine pairing was excellent, too. Hermanos Torres has definitely made it to the top 10 on my culinary list. Thank you for making this a very memorable meal. I will definitely be back. As much as time permits. PS: Skip Disfrutar, which is a complete let-down marinated in arrogance in comparison.
A Spectacular Dining Experience!
Cocina Hermanos Torres is a masterpiece of fine dining. The open kitchen design is grand and luxurious, creating an immersive experience where you feel part of the magic. The atmosphere is elegant yet full of energy and joy. Service is flawless—warm, professional, and truly world-class. The sommelier’s wine pairings elevate the meal even further. And then there’s the food—ridiculously good. Every dish is perfectly balanced, carefully seasoned, and somehow even better than the last. The quality sneaks up on you in the best way possible. An unforgettable experience and absolutely worth it!
This was one of the best dining experiences ever.
Diners are seated around one part of the prep kitchen and it is truly a work of art. The tables are separated far enough apart that you have privacy and the restaurant never becomes a loud cacophony. The food service is one masterpiece after another and there is never a dull bite. The dining experience is worth the time and travel, not to mention, Barcelona is one of the most beautiful European cities.
Came here on our anniversary.
Service was really great. Every dish was presented beautifully. We started with a glass of cava. Then they brought out a drink cart and made a celery drink to start the beginning of our service. I have to say, that celery drink was really the only thing I didn't get or enjoy about the evening. It was too salty tasting and I didn't understand what the point of it was with our first bite of the evening was. Other than that everything was amazing. I love how they built the entire dining room around the kitchen so every table feels like you are sitting at the "chef's table"!!! Loved the hip uniforms (loved the red high tops). Great wine selection. We were invited into their private cigar room after dinner to finish off even more desserts after dinner drinks and Cuban cigars. We had a great time and would absolutely recommend!
I'm writing this review to warn potential diners about the
I'm writing this review to warn potential diners about the disappointing and unfair experience I had with Cocina Hermanos Torres in Barcelona. I hope others will read this and be aware of the questionable reservation practices and lack of transparency that I experienced firsthand for a dining experience I didn't even get to eat! During my first trip to Spain, I used the American Express Dining Concierge where the concierge assistant placed me on a WAITLIST for a few time slots at this restaurant. The understanding from the concierge was clear: I would receive a call from the restaurant to confirm if any slot opened up. I only ever received emails saying no slots were available. To my complete shock, I later got a call from the restaurant asking if I was on my way--something I was totally unaware of. There was no phone call nor communication notifying me that a reservation had been confirmed. How does a 3 Michelin Star restaurant that is supposed to be known for its service not call to confirm reservations nor ask if we have any food allergies prior to dining? A few weeks later, I discovered a $608.07 charge on my credit card for a no-show! This situation has been extremely distressing. I reached out via multiple emails and phone calls to resolve the issue amicably, but unfortunately, the restaurant staff was neither helpful nor understanding. (Because I tried to ask my credit card company to help and they also had trouble reaching out to the restaurant, this attempt at a resolution has been dragged out for a year!) The American Express Concierge confirmed that I was simply on a waitlist and never agreed to a confirmed reservation without notification. Additionally, the reservation system didn't follow standard protocols--no confirmation call, no inquiry about food allergies, which is especially alarming given my travel companion's severe coconut allergy. Had we unknowingly dined and any food contained coconut, it could've been dangerous. To make matters worse, the restaurant's emails were completely written in Spanish and provided no warning about: 1) charges for a no-show if a waitlist slot becomes available, 2) how the waitlist transitions to a confirmed reservation, and 3) ANY protocol to confirm reservations with the diner directly [since there most definitely should be a confirmation from the diner that they're aware of the (newly) confirmed reservation and that they're even alive]. Despite my attempts to explain the misunderstanding, the restaurant showed no compassion or effort to address the issue or find an amicable resolution. I even asked if we could potentially find a way to credit for a future dining experience, if I could come back to Spain, and they completely rejected any idea of this. Their refusal to help resolve the situation has left me feeling scammed, especially given the reputation of such a prestigious Michelin-starred establishment. This experience is a far cry from the level of care and professionalism I've come to expect from fine dining. I strongly advise anyone considering Cocina Hermanos Torres to proceed with caution. If this restaurant cannot offer transparency in their reservation policies, it leaves diners vulnerable to unexpected and unjust charges. My experience has been both emotionally and financially burdensome, and I hope others won't have to deal with the same. Avoid this restaurant unless you're ready to deal with potentially confusing and unfair practices--and don't expect them to care about resolving issues if you become ill, an emergency happens, or something goes wrong.
We did not enjoy our dinner here.
I expected so much more from a three star restaurant. I have been to several other Michelin restaurants but never a three star. Nothing was exceptional and some things were just bad. Service was poor - didn't refill water, spilled wine, took 20 minutes to bring the check. It was a terrible waste of money.
Best food, service, ambience, everything!!!! I could not
Best food, service, ambience, everything!!!! I could not say enough good about this place. Everybody was kind, every bite was perfect. Some literally blew my mind. The desserts topped it all off. Perfect amount of food although we did prepare by only having breakfast. The dishes were all simple but an explosion of flavors. Thank you to the whole team.
Good food but not the service or attitude or a Michelin 3 star.
Good food and love the quirky Michelin 3 star sneakers. There were a few things that I didn't expect from a 3 star (especially just having come from San Sebastian's Martin Besarategui: 1. Homophobic treatment - the servers gave explanations for 15 of the 16 courses except for the 14th course the Cocoa Age where they simply said "okay, congratulations", dropped the plate off without explanations, and quickly walked away 2. The sommelier just asked what wine I wanted, red or white, and brought something for us to try. I'm a certified wine professional with a WSET 3 passed with distinction, and out of the 75+ Michelin starred restaurants, I've not seen this nonchalant service 3. At the end of the meal, they just left me and my partner waiting. Never came by to ask whether we wanted any tea or anything else (a pretty normal, hospitable gesture)...so we constantly had to try to make eye contact with someone to try to get them to give us our check after 15-20 mins of waiting.
This three-Michelin star restaurant held our expectations
This three-Michelin star restaurant held our expectations high and fulfilled them, if not better. The food was excellent with prestigious presentation, and the 15-course meal was delightful. Our waitress was very accommodating to our requests and fulfilled them properly. The setting and background was so nice with a great black backdrop and we got to see the chefs in action. Loved the ambiance and it was very elegant and Spanish. Would definitely come back.
An Amazing Experience
What an amazing and almost surreal experience. My wife and I had a reservation at opening time and when the black shears parted and we were escorted into the restaurant, wow, we were blown away. The setting was like something from a dream. The dark wall coverings juxtaposed with the fluorescent lights shining down on the cooking stations in the middle of the restaurant, the professional wait staff attired in black suits and custom-made red leather high top sneakers. My wife and I had never dined at a Michelin-starred restaurant (let alone one with three stars), so we clearly won’t be the most knowledgeable reviewer, but we were blown away. We opted for the standard wine pairing with the multi-course dinner and enjoyed every morsel/sip. The service – both the food servers and the sommelier – was outstanding, the experience was beyond compare. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and a nice personalized dessert was delivered along with a subtle, muted round of applause from the staff. Nice touch – understated, as appropriate. I feared that I would have “buyer’s remorse” the morning after (after spending far, far more for dinner than we ever had before), but I had none. I would dine at Hermanos Torres again tomorrow!!
We would love to come back again!
Hello, We certainly had expectations ahead of visiting Cocina de Hermano Torres and thought it would be amazing, but you blew those away - the experience was much more than that! The personnel was outstanding, there was care in every bite and everything was organised to the smallest detail - highest of class! We wanted to explicitly thank you for the professionalism and the whole experience - it was a blast! We would love to come back again and we would spread the word around and recommend you at all times! Best wishes from Bulgaria, Yonko & Dalibor
Great food, sommelier not 3 star michelin standard
The food was great, mostly living up to the 3-stars. The wine pairing was also good, however the somelier presenting the wines barely spoke english. In a 3 star restaurant I expect a solid presentation of the wines in addition to impeccable service and great food. That is why I give only 4 out of 5
The best culinary experience of my entire life.
The service was unlike anything I've received before and the ambiance was clean, kind and a bit edgy. You must go if you are in Barcelona. It is an experience that you will never forget. I have been thinking about this everyday for over a week. The food was so fresh and clean. They accommodated all our dietary restrictions and had a pescatarian menu for us. I would love to go again if possible!
You can see why it is a top top top restaurant.
Did out homework prior to going to Barcelona. Checked the venue on the Michelin app. Not in the centre, but easy via underground or bus. Nice welcome, was full on a Thur ev. Nice friendly staff. Loved the idea that the owner came and spoke to us. Great idea of the staff trainers, Staff looked relaxed and enjoying the job. Loads of staff in general, had the wine pairing which was good, Not cheap but you get what you pay for in life. Atmosphere was superb, and the service was of military precision every time.
Appallingly bad, would not recommend
Cocina Hermanos Torres was shockingly bad. From both service to food, this restaurant was pretentious and underwhelming. I have never been so disappointed at a 3 star restaurant, I would hardly give it 1 star. The food was uninteresting and bland, a few dishes just stated bad. The hostess had a pretentious attitude and our server spilled our wine. I regret having dinner here with my wife and I advise others to skip.
Untranslarent Price increase of 50% post booking due to MWC event
My experience with Cocina Hermanos Torres was disappointing and frustrating. Despite clear communication, the restaurant failed to honor the advertised testing menu price, insisting on a significantly higher cost due to a Mobile World Congress event. This lack of transparency and flexibility regarding pricing left me unable to proceed with my reservation. Furthermore, the apparent disregard for customer concerns suggest a lack of hospitality and empathy, qualities one would expect from a restaurant of a three-star Michelin. Additionally, the restaurant's decision to use the Mobile World Congress event as an excuse to raise the price post-booking, rather than informing customers beforehand, is unacceptable. Despite sending three reminders to cancel my reservation and avoid my credit card being charged, there was no acknowledgment or response from the restaurant. This lack of attentiveness to customer requests further underscores the disappointing experience. True excellence in the culinary world extends beyond the food itself to encompass the entire dining experience, including customer service and communication. Regrettably, Cocina Hermanos Torres fell short in this regard, casting doubt on its suitability for recognition as a top-tier establishment.

one of the best Michelin experiences
My husband and I really enjoyed our valentine's dinner at Cocina Hermanos Torres tonight. Every course was prepared with the uppermost attention to detail, creativity, freshest food selection, and exquisite culinary design. I had the best cod and duck in my life tonight. I have dined at Michelin 3 star in Paris and Cocina Hermanos Torres strikes me with a unique, whimsical ambiance and space. The open kitchen concept is not easy to execute if you think about it - with guests looking/judging/staring at the chefs who are cooking in the middle of the room. Overall, I really appreciate the effort of the chef, his team, and the service staff. I would come back again if I am in Barcelona next time.
Had dinner here with my family and the food was incredible.
The service was top notch. You faked for nothing. They newcwhat you wanted before you knew what you wanted. We had a sommelier who was incredible. She was passionate about what she did and explained any question we asked. The ambiance was also very nice. Just felt at home. The chef introduced himself and was very personable. Highly recommend if you can get a reservation.
Best dining experience of my life.
A must try anytime you are in Barcelona. I can't wait to go back.
Fantastic meal .
Each course was better than the last. The service was exceptional and very pleasant to talk to.
Ya Girl is bougie AF and had to do 3 Michelin Star Cocina
Ya Girl is bougie AF and had to do 3 Michelin Star Cocina Hermanos Torres while in Barcelona. I had no choice! Overall, I had an amazing meal and was so pleased with service, food and the overall experience. Just to get it out of the way, my only sticking point were the drinks. I love mocktails. I no longer drink liquor and get them everywhere. The mocktail I had was tasty but 30 Euros for a mocktail doesn't seem reasonable. We paid $60 for two non-alcoholic drinks. Just nuts. Now that that's out of the way, let me focus on all the positive of the meal! 12 Courses of occulance all served at an open & beautifully decorated kitchen, filled with chefs hard at work wearing red 3 Michelin star shoes. Service was truly impeccable, perfectly coordinated, so friendly. They even noticed my inability to eat every course (I have a tiny tummy!) and altered things for me a bit giving me slightly smaller portions. So kind and attention to detail was so amazing. Every dish was just delicious, with a seafood heavy menu. Plating was intricate, classy and just wonderful. I won't bore you with the details but my favorite dish of the night was "The Cocoa Age" a chocolate multi-level and texture dessert that came with their crown Jewel, a decadent chocolate ball served in a special display. I don't want to ruin too much of the fun for you so I'll leave it at that. ;) Definitely recommend having a meal at Cocina Hermanos Torres for 290 Euros, but also recommend skipping any NA beverages.
Day 2 of a brief Barcelona layover and the second Michelin
Day 2 of a brief Barcelona layover and the second Michelin 3-star in as many days. Came for lunch and immediately struck by the difference in setting. First off, the red trainers with the 3 Michelin stars worn by the staff were quite striking. What a way to celebrate the achievement! The layout itself is fascinating with an open island kitchen in the center where many of the dishes were prepared or finished. Th central island was one of maybe five or six kitchens, the others with teams of chefs preparing pastries, desserts, etc. After a nice brief personal greeting by JavierTorres, the courses arrived. The sommelier was excellent, suggesting a nice Verdejo to accompany the menu. Each course was truly amazing. I would definitely recommend this spectacular restaurant for anyone seeking a spectacular meal prepared with the greatest of care and with high quality service.
Amazing tasting, and one of my favorite meals from a 25
Amazing tasting, and one of my favorite meals from a 25 star trip to Spain (2nd or 3rd). The space is gorgeous, dramatic and dark with great light coming in and views of the many kitchens from any seat. The service is impeccable - perfectly timed, very friendly, good explanations for courses, chef even greets you. The sommelier team is awesome and we really loved ours - was very knowledgeable with the selections and able to modify the pairing to our preferences. The meal isn't terribly long - we were out in under 3 hours for lunch with pairing + bottle of wine. The courses are delicious, and plating is exquisite - such beautiful presentations. Sauces were wonderful. Flavors delicious. Would highly recommend.
I I got food poisoning from the restaurant and as much I
I I got food poisoning from the restaurant and as much I don't want to post this, after many attempts trying to work with the restaurant for resolution, I think the brothers would be ashamed to know that nothing was done to correct the situation even after I have a doctors note and all. This is not what I expected from a 3 star Michelin restaurant.
What an incredible visit to Cocina Hermanos Torres! They
What an incredible visit to Cocina Hermanos Torres! They are definitely deserving of their 3 star Michelin status. From when we first entered this restaurant from when we exited, our experience was perfectly curated. The service was exemplary and no detail too small was missed! They had one seating service for the night and we stayed 2.5 hours and had full view of the kitchen staff cooking in the center. One of the Hermanos Torres (chef) also came by to say hello to us and take a photo. Our favorites - squid and caviar: the creamy raw squid paired excellently with the salty bursts of caviar -mussels, king crab, prawn paella: beautifully plated in a round with a surprising creamy coconut curry inspired growth -green peas with iberico ham: the most tender green peas juxtaposed well with the crunchy textures of ham -Royal quail with black rice: I've never had a more tender quail breast that was seared so perfectly -anchovy bon bon: the flavor profile for this was a little funky for me, lots of sour notes, but it was fun to bite into the crisp shell of bon bon and he surprised by a burst of liquid anchovy -the age of cacao: wow this chocolate dessert with a crisp water, creamy pudding, and a light sorbet was divine!
TOTAL ROBERY
total madly expensive and worthless place!!! menu costs €275 gor ok dinner. quality between mefium to ok, portions ministure. markup wine 3x. NEVER AGAIN
Wonderful journey of 15 courses.
Just got back from this amazing experience. 15 courses so beautifully prepared. We went with the maridaje de vinos. I think it was 10 copas but I don’t fully remember. I love having the chefs in the middle of the restaurant, watching them and the brothers create their magic. Everything ran like an oiled machine. Brilliant service from everyone. A true gem in a beautiful city. It is very expensive, especially for Barcelona but it’s a journey to enjoy if it’s your thing. It’s certainly our thing.
