I took 4guests for the dinner and we had a great time with a great food. All entry was very delicately seasoned with very fresh ingredients. We ate in a -traditionally decorated - private room which we felt very well treated and actually they served us pleasantly. We had experienced a noble Korean cuisine.

I recently dined at this upscale and authentic Korean restaurant that showcased a variety of classic Korean dishes. The standout dishes were the steamed tender braised beef and the grilled eel. The braised beef looks like it's melt-in-your-mouth tender and the flavorful sauce apparently complements the dish perfectly per my meat-eating family. The grilled eel was cooked to perfection and had an incredibly delicious and smoky flavor. And what's a family gathering without a little privacy? This restaurant has got that covered too, with private dining rooms that'll make you feel like royalty. No more shouting over the background noise to catch up with your cousin you haven't seen in years. Now you can catch up in peace, while feasting on some of the best Korean food around. The ambiance is traditional yet elegant, and the service is top-notch, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who are ready to take your orders and answer any questions.
Be the first to ReplySimply stated - quality exceptional.
.. (fish egg spicy soup), (hot pot mixed fried rice)and (ground bean pancakes) were superb. Side dishes were generous and rice was red bean instead of plain white. Everything about the food and service exemplified how ancient Korean royalties would have dined. Suuuperb !

Service is grate and everyone is so friendly. I would recommend to anyone who wants to try Korean food.
Be the first to ReplyRoyal Korean Food experience completed May 2022.
My mom has always wanted to give royal korean food a try ever since our trip to Seoul pre pandemic. We couldn't find the time to squeeze it in during our trip. However, we are glad this experience is available here. Also, ever since we watched Crash Landing On You during the pandemic we were avid fans of HB&SYJ. We were ecstatic to learn Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin visited this LA restaurant on their honeymoon; we were over the moon to say the least (at least I was!). And spoiler alert, yes there are pictures on the wall with their signature along with other celebrities! They offer two menu pre-fixeCHUNG Table D Hote and HYANG Table D Hote.We ordered HYANG because it was a bigger meal w more items for our celebratory lunch since we had a party of six. Do call ahead of time to reserve private rooms. The service was good and everyone was courteous and punctual. Would definitely return again for family dinner.
Be the first to ReplyWell, where to start.
.. I've read some reviews before visiting so I wasn't expecting the service to be great. I took my girlfriend here for ger birthday. We ordered the more expensive course for the two of us. I realized later after leaving, we didn't even get three items listed on the menu we paid for. Taste? Non-existent. Except for the soup and the galbi. Very disappointed. Whenever a dish would come out, the server just says the name of the dish and leaves, as if they're robots. If you're thinking of coming here on a special occasion, reconsider your options. What a way to ruin a Birthday.

The food here is what you would imagine the Royals would eat back in the day. It is a unique Korean cuisine experience that comes in many courses. Every dish was so delicious - vegetable porridge, bossam (pork dish boiled in spices and thinly sliced), banchan (Korean side dishes), skewers, fish fillets, vegetable soup, egg fried shrimp, fish, cucumbers, japchae (Korean glass noodles), galbi jjim (braised short ribs), dwen jang jjigae (bean paste soup), Korean dessert drink - all deliciously prepared. It was VERY filling.

I can't really think of another Korean restaurant in Los Angeles that serves a traditional Korean meal full course from different kimchi's to soup and kalbi. You can also order a la carte for items like Bulgogi or Mandoo duk gook. Many people have larger gatherings here like kids 1st birthdays or other celebrations as they have small and large rooms that can accommodate many size parties. The food is decent and staff quick and efficient. They have a parking lot with valet $3. And overall it's a great way to taste many different Korean dishes in one meal if you get the course. Pretty reasonable as you will leave full. Try it at least once.

I came here for the "Hyang" course menu and it didn't disappoint that I had to bring my boyfriend to try! It feels like I'm eating at my grandma's house back in Korea :) Portion size is AMAZING for the price. The menu is extremely well balanced and you'll leave the restaurant having tried many many traditional Korean dishes! A must try for sure

This place reminded me of a Korean Drama where friends meet for dinner and food is just serve continuously. My friend ordered and food just started coming. I loved the kimchi and all the banchan that came with the whole meal. I truly enjoyed everything that was served. Make sure you are hungry when you eat here. It was a lot of food and i definitely had to take home food.

3/17/2022OVERALL IMPRESSIONS & FOODThis is a review for Monday's lunch. It was for my mom's birthday and we've decided on the Traditional Korean Prefix Meal. There are two kinds of prefix meal that you can choose from. We chose from the Chung Table D'Hote. Every course was delicious. The only course I did not like was the Jeong-gol, which was the vegetable and ricecake soup. It was very bland and unmemorable. The overall meal was not a heavy, yet you left satisfied. My favorite of the course was the Kaesung Namul, Tang Pyeung Chae, Egg Battered King Prawn, Japchae, Galbijjim and Traditional Korean Punch. It's been a while since I've last dined here and sadly the pandemic has changed the restaurant. They have done their best to keep the food at their best. But I have eaten at their restaurant at the height of their popularity and they served the absolutely best Traditional Korean Royal Cuisine. Unfortunately, all their best dishes are no longer served here. Nonetheless, the dishes that were served were are well-made and delicious, but they are now serving more basic Korean dishes although inspired by Korean Royal Cuisine.SEATING There used to be a general dining area, but now they only have private rooms from smaller rooms that seat 4 people to larger rooms that seat over 40. SERVICEThe service was great all around. Since we were a party of 3, we had only one server throughout the whole meal.

This might've been my favorite meal while in LA this past weekend. The four of us had to show our IDs and proof of vaccination cards. Then we were guided to a private room. Started off with Bo Ssam which was great! The side dishes there were pretty good especially the kimchi and radish kimchi. Japchae wasn't too sweet so I enjoyed it. Galbi jjim was nice and tender and the naeng myun was the final dish for me. Need room for soju and beer! Don't fill up on the starch too early else you won't have room for the final two or three dishes.
Be the first to ReplyWhat is wrong with the people working at this
What is wrong with the people working at this place??????????? You DEMAND, with an attitude to my mother for the vaccine card, and she shows it to the lady. Then, she DEMANDS for the ID, which my mother also complied with it. Finally, the same lady, tells my mother, with an ATTITUDE, that she needs to have both verification ready before you enter the premises. Did my mother just get pulled over by the police driving 100mph? My mother gently tells the lady that she's a customer and she tries to walk to her table, where her friends were already seated. But she had the nerve to follow my mother until she was seated and tries to give her a lecture on how the SYSTEM is. To yong soo san.....First of all, my mother complied with all your policies before she was seated. Maybe your employee had a bad day, or maybe she was in a rush. Be advised, your employee is working as a customer service representative. This is unacceptable!!

I reserved and visited this restaurant on Christmas day for my family, especially for my parents because I would like to invite my parents to a good traditional Korean food restaurant even though the dishes are pricy. However, I was very disappointed of this restaurant. Food are salty, doesn't look fresh, and their taste were worse than any food from food court. The amount of food on each dish was very small portions and a dish of has only one piece of fish part and filled with over cooked radishes. It looked like already cooked before I ordered it. I fo not recommend this restaurant. Everything is not satisfied for its high price.

Enjoyed the experience of Traditional Korean Cuisine in a private setting. Appearance of each dish was extremely appetizing .
Be the first to ReplyI came here on Thanksgiving with my parents.
I came to this restaurant in the past but the food must have changed since the pandemic. All the dishes we ordered and the banchan were salty, service sucked, and the worst part, the food we ordered looked decent but was very sub-par. I would not invite any special guests of mine to this establishment. Very disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyLoved the private rooms decorated in a Korean theme.
Last night was my first time trying traditional Korean food and my waitress was so patient and knowledgeable! The valet parking was only $2 but the food was definitely pricey. Overall, it was a unique experience I would come back if I was in the area.

We had our paebaek in one of the private rooms at Yongsusan and it was so easy to coordinate with the restaurant. We got the set menu, which consisted of a nice variety of tasty dishes. It was the perfect location for our paebaek and the food at the end was a cherry on top of our special day.

Food is good but expensive. Best Banchan ever. Good parking with attendant.

This is a place you bring ppl to show off but is completely empty when it comes to taste. We had company from out of town and brought them here against my wishes and ordered the fancy set menu. Presentation was alright but that's where it ends. Too much money for lack of substance and going home unsatisfied. There are way too many restaurants in Ktown to be going here for mediocrity. Hard pass.
