Great Kimpton Sylvan Staycation - Plan to Return
Wife and I stayed at the Kimpton Sylvan for one night this past weekend. We were attending a 50th birthday celebration of a friend at a nearby venue. The entire experience with the team there was just outstanding! We were greeted very warmly by Ash, Rachael and Christian at check in and the glass of champagne we were both offered and poured by Christian, was a nice touch and got our stay off on a very positive note. In addition they were all just so genuine and nice, which in my experience does not always happen at hotel check ins. Our room was very comfortable, clean, spacious, quiet, and modern. Also, the bedding provided us both a good nights sleep and rest. We had some apps and wine at their rooftop bar and that also proved to be a good experience as well, and the views and ambience are very good there. Also had a good time chatting with Victoria who is one of the bartenders there. Very nice lady! Prior to leaving for our event that evening we attended their wine and app event in the lobby. When my wife asked for Rose it was not available but Christian went and got a bottle of Rose, which was very above and beyond and made my wife a happy camper! Last, I thought my room package included an already paid for breakfast, but couldn't locate my paperwork, but Rachael said not a problem and gave a full breakfast voucher for two at the Betty and it was a great breakfast, I might add. This hotel truly stands out as a wonderful place to spend a few nights and we will definitely be back in the near future. Thanks again to Rachael, Christian and Ash for making our stay so special!
Great service
I absolutely lived Vee At the front desk! She is so professional yet so inviting and helpful! She went above and beyond to accommodate us and it left a lasting imprint . While I’m not a huge fan of the hotel set up ,everything was clean and honestly everyone was very friendly. Thank you for our stay !
Made and paid for a reservation but they didn’t have a room for us
Terrible experience. Got there at 8Pm and they didn’t have the room I made my reservation for. Had me waiting for more than one hour for the manager that didn’t show up.
Exceptional service and amenities that makes this hotel a stand-out in Atlanta
We've been coming to the Sylvan Kimpton for the last five years or so when we fly out of or back to Atlanta. We usually stay for a weekend because we enjoy everything about this hotel and it is a great source of relaxation and entertainment for us. There is simply nothing not to like at the Sylvan. I haven't even gotten such great service at five-star hotels like I have gotten at this one. The rooms are cozy and spotlessly clean, the valet is magnificent and there is a charging station for the EV, they accept dogs, the restaurants and rooftop are excellent and fun, and the wine hour is one of our favorite things. We've never encountered a mediocre employee at the Sylvan and we've stayed dozens of times. Just one example from our last stay, we just missed the wine hour by 15 minutes when checking in. I said to my husband "Aw, we missed it. Too bad." Well, the gentleman at the reception, Christian, overheard that comment and the wine (or actually rose champagne that day! Bonus!) was still behind the reception and he poured us two glasses. We couldn't believe his kindness! And we didn't even have to ask him directly. He just overheard us talking and he knew he could make our day special. These are the kinds of things that make guests come back again and again. There is exceptional service at this particular hotel and they should be considered a leader in the industry and certainly in Atlanta.
I would stay here again
Great location. Enjoyed our breakfasts. Restaurant is good but oddly not that busy. The rooftop bar generates noise that you can hear in your room. Our room was not as clean as it should have been up checkin. The staff was great. i thought that parking was a bit too high compared to some other hotels in the area. The staff was friendly, efficient, and accommodating.
Chic, chill place
I loved this little hotel. It’s very chic in an understated, hipster sort of way. It’s quiet but still lively. Rooms are small but comfy and well appointed. No coffee maker but they have it in the lobby so I just went down in the lovely robe they provided 😆 pool is really pretty and decent fun rooftop bar. Walking distance to everything Buckhead.
Great
This place was amazing experience!! Elliot was very helpful with the activities that was close by the hotels ! And telling us about the rooftop lounge which was a great . Overall great experience! Will be back!
Accompanied by the Elliot
The process of getting our reservation was smooth & Swift. Elliot Forsyth was very accommodating. Thank you a lot!!!!!
GREAT Experience
Absolute GREAT experience and atmosphere. I had a wonderful stay, rooms were exceptional as well as the service. Elliot was extremely helpful in letting us know about all hotspots in the rooftop bar. We definitely revisit in the future!
Clean, great customer service, cozy, convenient.
Love the Sylvan. Customer service is great. When the housekeeping was closed, the front desk sent me up an espresso machine. They were also able to accommodate early check-in when I have needed it. The rooms, hallways and bathrooms are spotless to the point that I don’t mind walking around in the room without shoes… Which is rare. I also love the fact that it is not in the middle of downtown so you’re able to take your dog out for a walk and parking isn’t stressful.
It pains me to give the Willow Bar at the Kimpton 2 stars
It pains me to give the Willow Bar at the Kimpton 2 stars simply because we love this hotel and we've dined here several times before and they delivered every time! But this review is specifically on the NYE igloo experience. In short it was very expensive and the food was underwhelming. ($85 a person finger foods and $25 cocktails). The igloo's themselves were magical, such a fun experience to dine in a warm bubble surrounded by pretty lights and holiday decorations. We celebrated New Years Eve at the Kimpton hotel which started with dinner reservations in the igloo. The menu was really tough to find online, but I had read other Yelp reviews that mentioned a three course meal with different options to select from. NYE it was very different. Instead the menu was full of finger foods that the table would share- which would've been great if they were spaced out. The menu include a flatbread, hummus plate, soft pretzels, pork belly fries, charcuterie, and meatballs. There was plenty of food to go around, but they were all served at once. It was all so overwhelming. A major downside was after 15 minutes all of the food was cold, so we didn't get to enjoy the intended textures and flavors of the food itself. I'd recommend spacing out each plate for enjoyment for your guests. Lastly, the roasted marshmallows cocoa espresso cocktail was a fan favorite!

Under a night sky, I dined inside an igloo, surrounded by charcuterie galore and good company. The igloo experience is a three course meal, including appetizers, entree, and dessert. Our drinks were served, and I snapped multiple photos of my mezcal and hot cocoa cocktail, topped with perfectly charred marshmallows. I'm a pure sucker for mezcal; this drink was irresistible. We easily finished off a lustrous charcuterie spread of meats and cheeses, olives, and honeycomb. This was served alongside mussels and toast to sponge up the mouthwatering mussel sauce - we couldn't get enough of this and joked that we wanted the bread to be our entire meal! I wasn't as impressed by the cheeseburger I selected as my main course, but once they showed up with the dessert tray, I was once again dazzled. They poured steel cups of Kahlua and hot chocolate onto domes of dark chocolate. We dipped our cookies into the chocolate explosion and discussed New Year's Resolutions to help ward off the caloric guilt. There's nothing better in life than sharing a meal with friends, to connect us and remind us that we need each other. Willow Bar executes an experience worthy of gathering over the table for!

This bar is an additional bar/restaurant option in the Kipton Sylvan Hotel in Buckhead. Environmentally, it is VERY cheap in comparison to the rest of the hotel & dining options. In the Willow, the waitress demonstrated her lack of knowledge of the definition Whiskey and its category differences. She didn't know her liquor categories overall. If the establishment has " $$ " / " $$$ " +, they need to demonstrate class, knowledge, diversity or palettes, and complex cocktails. Simply stated: The Willow fell short on LITERALLY ALL FRONTS - NOT WORTH THE PRICE, NOT WORTH THE LIQUOR *cocktails disgusting, AND NOT WORTH THE ENVIORNMENT #cheapAF. I initially wanted to give it 3 stars, but I realized that was only because or the Expected benefit of being in Buckhead - realistically a solid 2-Star.
Willow Bar was recommended to me by my friend Arielle.
It's such a cute little bar in the heart of Buckhead. The mussels are super delish.! During the winter they have little igloos you can reserve for a more intimate setting. Definitely recommend visiting!
Such a gem! I was there with my family and we loved
Such a gem! I was there with my family and we loved everything, the food, the wine, everything! Can't wait to go back!
