Wailele Luau Lahaina Reviews from The Last Year
5 stars
The food was amazing! I’ve been to several luaus and this was the best. Waitstaff was great and interacted with us. Tasteful costumes and amazing local talent.
Fire fire show
I have been to many Luau’s. This was really great. The food was great and I can be very picky with food. The show was fantastic. The dancers were very entertaining. The history of Maui was informative. The ambiance was nice.
The Waileke Luau was the crown jewel of our trip to Maui.
The entertainment was amazing and the band was fantastic, The food was out of this world. I had seconds and the deserts were to die for. The open bar was also a hit with the entire group.
Fun and educational evening
We enjoyed our evening at the luau. We had standard tickets, but it did include a lei and we had a good view of the entertainment. The lei was well-made with real flowers. Unlimited food and drink was included. It was a buffet but the line was organized and fairly quick. A server came by periodically to refresh our drinks. Some of the dancers were not the best but the fire throwing and eating was amazing! I enjoyed learning more about the Hawaiian culture.
It was a great show with the best food I've had at over 10
It was a great show with the best food I've had at over 10 luau's. It was fun for the adults and kids and run by a friendly team. We will go again fort sure!
Wonderful experience yet 1 thing that cramps their style
Wonderful waitstaff - I was in front and the waiter was so attentive. Great show and dancers. The MC does a great job of keeping things interesting. The food was really yummy and the drinks 🍹 keep coming. One thing I would change is to give Everyone a flawer lai. People go to luaus to get a flower lai 😭 (duh!) but at this luau you need to be “premium” to get it. The $200 ticket you pay does not make you premium. I just think it’s a lame way of making more money, creating caste systems and not giving someone the full experience they could have. If you want to divide premium vs regular then maybe switch it to seating or alcohol choices but not the 1 thing people associate with luaus. 😂
Quite disappointed
I have to say I am quite disappointed with this event. We paid for premium seatting and according to the pictures that is in front of the stage. We were seated three rows on the back. Don't get me wrong, we had a nice view but they charged us for premium and I think that is not honest. During the whole night we were not attended by any waiter, we had to go and get all drinks, water, etc on our own. Plus, there was an old man not that nice that came to our table with a couple and started to move our stuff. I was ok with having more people with us but he was kind of rude. They ended up moving the couple and they came to tell me they moved them when I never requested to do it. I was upset by the lack of service and the way he communicated to me. The show is nice, great dancers but I could see some were new dancers so I expected more (just because I have seen other shows) My family was happy with the food and the music. I just hope they work on the seating and the service so people get the best experience.
Luau Experience Beloved by All of Us!
Wonderful food and performances. A real highlight of our trip! First luau for my two daughters in law and they loved everything Inc participating in on stage hula.
Best Luau ever
Best show Best food Best service Best kids friendly in Maui It was a great experience at Westin Maui resort and spa. Highly recommended especially for family
This is not temporarily closed! It's Feb 2024.
We attended the luau on this Friday and loved it. The food was exceptionally good. We had low expectations for food quality given mass catering is never one to really impress. But this luau at the Westin had these delicious offerings that my table all enjoyed: pork, sweet potato. They offer poi which is taro, a tuber. I enjoyed it because it's an island staple but note that it tastes like a tuber! It's going to not have a ton of seasoning, which is fine because it's like eating rice or potatoes--it tastes great with the seasoned meats. The show was also nice-- talented dancers and ends with an impressive fire dance which reminded me of the power of nature. Lahaina fire is still a recent memory and the community here is still recovering. We were guests at the Westin and found that buying our tickets from the concierge was slightly cheaper than buying online. But tickets can be purchased online and it was easy. All guests get a nice lei of flowers or nuts. It's all you care to eat and drink including alcohol. There's a great kids section with kiddie chopsticks and cute deco. Ohana seating was nice- we shared a round table with 2 other families and got to know folks from different parts of the mainland. The MC had a nice callout for anniversaries, honeymoons and birthdays. And there was even a marriage proposal on stage at the luau!!!!
A Luau Worth Attending

For the price, you would expect better food (all of it was way way too salty, even the green salad) and adult beverages provided (absolute bottom end). The luau show was excellent and well done. The service was second to none by all of the personnel. The ambiance was good, not as good as others available on the beach. All in all, I would not recommend this luau. For the price, try ANY other luau available.
We had a great time at the luau.
The adults and kids all loved it. The food was typical for a luau. The drinks were good. The entertainment was fun.
Highly Recommend
A perfect evening from start to finish. The food and drinks were plentiful and very good. Our table server was very attentive to any of our dining or beverage needs. The music played during dinner was not overly loud allowing table discussions without any issues. The show with the performers was one of the best we’ve seen. A very enjoyable evening. Highly recommend!

We had a great time and the fire dancing was by far the best i've ever seen. Got drinks and lei's upon entering and were warmly welcomed by the owner, we had premium seating and our service was great. If you're staying at the Westin, definitely worth seeing, great atmosphere, show and food!
It was A LOT of money.
The food was good. But the show itself was rather disappointing. It is promoted as three and a half hours, which is how long you are there. However the show itself was only about an hour. The rest of the time was sitting, waiting, eating, drinking and chatting with the other people at your table. Which was fine, but promoting it as a 3.5 hour show is false advertising. Would not attend or recommend.
Our experience at the Wailele Luau was just OK.
We did the Ohana seating and the table that was assigned to us was completely full. One of the staff seated us at different table which was fine. We asked about getting our family picture taken by the professional photographer and we were informed that a staff member will come get us. That never happened. No one came. We saw a line forming by the arts/crafts table for pictures so we decided to do the same. For the buffet, the MC also informed everyone that a staff member will come and let each table know when it's their turn. That never happened. No one came. We saw people forming lines for dinner so we decided to do the same. The food was just OK. Definitely not worth the price we paid. The performances and fire show were great! I wish the management would actually follow the protocols they have in place for seating, pictures, and food. The lack of structure really made it stressful for us as parent of two little kids.
Expensive and Disappointing

When you enter they tell you someone will come to get you
When you enter they tell you someone will come to get you for your photo. No one comes, and if you don't get in line in time you'll miss it. When food starts they announce that someone will tell your table when they can go to the buffet. No one comes and if you wait you might miss the food. They start the entire program with Christian religious prayer, which is really weird. The grounds are really nice, and the fire show is entertaining for kids.
Food is delicious and buffet style and you can go for
Food is delicious and buffet style and you can go for seconds! The service is fast and friendly! And Ambiance is just spectacular, core memories for the entire family! Epic!!!! Thank you for being open ( most Luaus are closed and welcoming)

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
