Valley Green Inn Philadelphia Reviews from The Last Year
I have been to wissahickon probably a 100+ times but this
I have been to wissahickon probably a 100+ times but this was my first time eating at Valley Green Inn. This restaurant is set right in the middle of a scenic, historic park, which gives you a beautiful view but possibly difficult parking for those who do not frequent this area. When you step in, you must remember you are stepping into a building that is hundreds of years old - don't expect anything modern, spacious, updated, or luxurious. The food itself was quite good, above what we expected in an establishment that looked like this. However, the service was below our expectations. The host in the front was curt, and service was slow, even when there were hardly any customers. Plus, our server was wearing a dirty hoodie and sweating his face off. Though he was kind, he would wipe his sweat with his hands, and serve our food/drinks with those same hands, which was super unappealing. With the food and location being on their side, I sure hope this place works on their service.
The ambience is great.
The food is delicious. You can dine in or out. Make a reservation for Sundays, it's busy. You will enjoy it.
Great place that had been here forever.
I will admit that I think the food is not quite as good as it used to be. The breakfast potatoes could definitely need some work. The basket of breakfast breads used to be far superior. But, if you are looking for ambiance, this is the place to go! Also dog friendly on the porch!
What an amazing place.
Hard to believe its in Philadelphia. We thought we were in the woods, miles from civilization. We ate there on a Tuesday so it wasn't crowded at all. We ate in the "fireplace" room. The walls are full of paintings of the Inn. So cool. Food was perfect for our after-hike meal. Their french fries have to be the best in Philly. Our beautiful server Shannon sold us their specialty drink, the Espresso Martini. She told us that Eric, their bartender, made the drinks. Eric used a hint of vanilla vodka that hit just right. It was the perfect drink. We will most definitely be back. They told us the creek gets stocked with trout and we love to fish. I wonder if they will let us
It was an excellent first visit to this beautiful place!
It was an excellent first visit to this beautiful place! Our server, Josh, made it memorable and fun. Attention to detail, high quality food beautifully presented. Served with a smile. Interesting menu choices. Managed very well. A different experience for sure! High level dining at moderate prices. Will be back soon!
Our family used to come here when we were kids.
My siblings and I returned for a small reunion. Could not have had a better time. We're a loud group but the staff was super accommodating. Food was really good and the portions were huge. Note: BEST FRIES IN PHILADELPHIA! The server even let the kids color a page out of his super cool coloring book. We can't wait to come back for our next family reunion.
Went on my birthday and it was truly a wonderful birthday
Went on my birthday and it was truly a wonderful birthday food was excellent, and our waiter was so kind and he brought me a glass of champagne I thought that was wonderful on his part. Definitely would recommend
We stopped here for lunch today and I wish I had better
We stopped here for lunch today and I wish I had better things to say. The service was pretty terrible and unprofessional. We waited for over an hour for a club sandwich and a burger, which was tasteless and overcooked by the time we got it. The appetizer also wasn't worth waiting for. The drink I ordered was made incorrectly and was so strong as to be almost undrinkable. It might have been understandable if we had gotten any communication from the wait staff about what was taking the food so long, especially since we had a young kid with us. I feel like the service and quality of food here has dropped off, which saddens me because I used to like going there and taking out of town visitors too.
I was very impressed with valley green inn when I went for
I was very impressed with valley green inn when I went for lunch recently (December 2023). The ambiance is delightful! It's currently decorated for Christmas so nicely. It's warm and cozy inside. The staff is also so nice. We got the brisket fries and fried cauliflower and they were both incredible! I got the imperial salmon which was beautiful, hearty and very filling. My husband got the maple chicken which was similar. All so delicious. We skipped dessert but I'm definitely coming back for this!
Basic food but the view is really nice.
End up slightly disappointed every time I've been. Overall it's a place that leaves you wanting more
Lovely place
I enjoyed this place. Very cute spot with a nice menu and service. I would definitely return. We enjoyed sitting outside on the porch.

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
