UP on the Roof Alpharetta Reviews
atmosphere is what makes this place.
service is usually slow and i find the menu to be average and the food to be even less than average. BUT i think its a great spot for drinks with a friend! i would keep it at that though.

$123.78 for 6 margaritas and one order of nachos!!? OMG. The margaritas are served in an over size shot glass! This explains why the place was almost empty. Our server was great, the food was good but also overpriced. This was a favorite place for cocktails with a friend. Not anymore.

Our recent visit to Up on the Roof was nothing short of a disappointment. It began with an unfriendly welcome: a gentleman at the entrance demanded ID. Once inside, things only went downhill. My wife and I waited approximately 15 to 20 minutes at our table, completely ignored. Multiple servers passed by us repeatedly without so much as a greeting, a menu, or even a glass of water. We weren't acknowledged once, despite making it obvious we were waiting to be served. This level of neglect is unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one that markets itself as a premium dining experience. We left without ordering anything because no one bothered to let us. Save your time and money. There are far better places in town where guests are actually treated like they matter such as Taffer's tavern on the first story.

We came here for drinks on a weeknight primarily because it was open late. You enter the building on the side and take an elevator up. There was no line for the small elevator but could see where there could be a wait during peak times. The bar was a decent size and you could order from the inside or the outside to the same bar. You can also sit on both sides of the bar. We waited for some time as there was only 1 bartender. The drinks were reasonably priced and we sat outside on the patio. It was a perfect night weather wise and that was key since it was not covered. The view of downtown was great, but we wish we could have sat right on the railing since the tables were higher.
Clever menu & great service
We started out with some drinks and some deviled eggs and nachos. Everything on the menu was cleverly named. I had the “Dad Joke” - it was delicious! We got the crab cake sliders, shrimp tacos and the smash burger for entrees. So good! What made the night was our excellent server! Super friendly, attentive and kept us laughing.

Great service, amazing rooftop view! The food was decent, but the place itself has a really nice atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back and would gladly recommend it to others.

Kayevor took care of us for an engagement party and was phenomenal! Amongst all the excitement, our drinks stayed full and table stayed cleared! She was on top of our entire party and was so sweet with her service! Especially for such an occasion, she did an amazing job for us!
I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about
I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about when they rate this place low because our experience was perfect! We had impeccable lavender infused martinis, delectable Brussels sprouts, and amazing shrimp and grits and quinoa and shrimp! Everything was hot, well seasoned, and the service was friendly and efficient

We were sat and 2 waitresses that I saw went to tables all around us and one even went up with waters to a table that had drinks and said oh you have drinks. Like Hello! And looked at my table and walked on. We left.
This restaurant may be a good spot for having a cocktail
This restaurant may be a good spot for having a cocktail but it is terrible for dining. The food is awful. If you are used to eating decent food this is not a restaurant for you. In a group of six we were all disappointed with food. Lamb sliders and grilled chicken in particular were inedible. I'll avoid this restaurant if I am not forced to go there!

Female bartender was excellent!!! Great ambiance and knowledgeable staff!! Would go again
Christmas pop up is NOT full of cheer
We went to the Christmas pop up that the restaurant had where they were featuring spiked hot chocolate and holiday drinks. The first time we visited they had run out of hot chocolate so I could not have the holiday drink I had come for. The next week I went back with family and ordered their specialty drink “ make it a reindeer” and my daughter ordered “ treat yo’ elf” it took 20 minutes to get our drinks and they both arrived cold and without the featured whipped cream and toasted marshmallows. We complained and new drinks were made but again it took another 20 minutes to receive them. Very disappointed ☹️ the manager was nice and ended up comping our drinks, but did ruin the mood. Also, instead of having a fun Christmas movie on the tv or at least a u tube winter scene they had 60 minutes where I was forced to view people being blown up and dead people on the street. Not sure what kk s of vibe they are trying for.
Great Spot in Alpharetta, GA
Nestled above the city, Up on the Roof Restaurant offers a dining experience that’s as breathtaking as the views it provides. As soon as you step off the elevator, you’re greeted by a chic, modern atmosphere that perfectly complements the stunning skyline. The ambiance is serene, with soft lighting and comfortable seating that invites you to relax and take in the surroundings. Whether you're enjoying a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends, the setting is ideal for any occasion. Now, let’s talk about the food. The menu features a delightful array of dishes that celebrate both local flavors and international cuisine. Service throughout the evening was attentive yet unobtrusive, with our server being knowledgeable about the menu and eager to recommend wine pairings. But the true star of the evening was undoubtedly the view. As the sun set, the city transformed into a dazzling display of lights, making every moment spent here memorable.
As it warms up, decided to grab some rooftop brunch.
This location has a nice view of the downtown area. Our server was pretty knowledgeable and gave good recommendations on what's good. I order a chicken biscuit with the sausage gravy and bacon. It was solid, but the chicken was quite greasy. Besides that pretty solid. Also tried this appetizer with biscuits, apple cider donuts, and cinnamon rolls. It was sugary but good as well. Their jam for the biscuits are FIRE though. The drinks were great and fairly priced. I'd check this spot out.

the service was not good, server didn't clarify things and would forget parts of requests. took several tries to finally get a refill. the deviled eggs were somehow less flavorful than ice, and had a strange presentation. our meals all came out at separate times. the steak did not come with fries, like it said on the menu. ambience was cute i guess, there were wobbly tables and wiggly floor tiles though out . the music was also too loud.
Up on the Roof was so bad I nearly jumped off the roof.
I'm sure no one would have noticed because the waitresses never bothered to check on our table for the close to three hours we waited. During that time- we watched the dirty uncleared tables full of dirty dishes from patrons who had at one point gotten service. we did get one round of drinks when we first arrived and after over 30 minutes waiting did receive the water we asked for three times. we counted over five wait staff not including hostesses and bartenders pass us by with no acknowledgement. one star only for the concept. but come on folks - don't expect the roof top "vibe" is going to save you from the terrible service and lack of management Will not be going back and would advise family and friends to enjoy other options in the area.
Food was very good.
I have a reaction to garlic and mentioned that to the waiter. The chef came out and made some suggestions. I was very pleased with the waiter, hostess and chef. The view is fabulous, 5th floor terrace and no building is taller. I would recommend this place for ambiance, view, food and service. Randy, our waiter was very good.
Great location - that's where it ends the girls they have
Great location - that's where it ends the girls they have as hostesses are horrible! They are obviously entitled high schoolers who were made to get a job and think they are the restaurant controllers! Horrible attitudes and rude - Ive had several other couples have similar experiences here with these girls at the front! Management needs to do something about this - it's ruining your reputation!!!!! So much potential but when you walk up and are treated like crap by these bratty teens!!!
***** Five Stars here folks.
The food, service and ambiance were superb. The service was a little slow, but if did not affect our experience. THIS IS NOT FAST FOOD. Randy was our waiter and as attentive as possible. (We also spoke personally with one of the chefs about a garlic allergy). We had the Burger Royale and the Cobb Salad. Both were perfectly delicious!!!!! The view is spectacular...
Great food and service.
The ambiance is wonderful and it is a great place to hang out with friends.
Great food and ambiance.
.. plus a beautiful view of the square at the City of Alpharetta!
This was our first time visiting and we made a reservation.
We sat at our table for 25 minutes without being greeted while other tables were greeted and fully served around us. No one stopped by. We had to go somewhere else where we would be acknowledged. TERRIBLE experience.

Seemed like a very cool spot with great views and thank goodness for the views because you will be looking at them while waiting at least 40 minutes for your beverage-even on a relatively slow weeknight. We ordered two beers and fries and it took almost an hour so we left..Don't go here.Much better places in DT Alpharetta
Tori was the best server.
VERY Attentive. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a great experience.
I've got mixed feelings about this place, the scenery vibe
I've got mixed feelings about this place, the scenery vibe up on the roof top concept is cool and definitely worth checking out on a beautiful sunny day for some drinks The appetizers were good nothing special but not bad, now the food part was honestly a complete disappointment!!! Out of 5 meals nobody can say they loved their meal in fact nobody ate more than half of their meal it was pretty disappointing from items to just lack of creativity/flavor profile this place would be awesome and has the potential especially with the location but food wise, we would definitely not come back for the food
This place is awesome.
You MUST get these items Royale Burger Gnocchi with Salmon Donut dessert I promise you will not be disappointed Also Katelyn is a great waitress

Yo you GOTTA check this place out if you're ever in the area. The vibe is great and the bartenders are always on it. Shout out to Andrew!
Only thing up is the roof
If you make a reservation they don’t have an actual table ready unless you want to sit outside ( only good when weather permits). This place mainly caters to mid 20’s crowd and is more a bar atmosphere. Food is average at best and service is well below that. Guarantee disappointing.
UP is good! Food has been great here each time I've gone.
The view is really pretty and seems big city in a not big city. Highly recommend sitting outside.
This place is a fucking joke.
Went here for New Year's Eve. We waited an hour to get in, when we got in there was no more then 70 people here(300 capacity probably). We ordered two drinks it was 71$. 2 Nutrls was 20$. Bartenders were awfuly slow and not friendly. I've been to New York City 4 times in the last year and this place was more expensive then any place there. NEVER COME HERE!
Came here on New Year's Eve.
My party waited over an hour and when we walked in there were maybe 50 people inside. I order a tequila pineapple and a vodka red bull and was charged $70. The bartender was also very rude and demanded I tipped big. This place is a joke never go here. I will never take my business here again.
Fun place with good food!
We have been here several times since they have opened. It may be a little hard to find the door to get inside where you take the elevator up as they're on the roof! Fun vibes, good food and drinks! Beautiful views of the city. Reservations would be recommended.
Fun rooftop patio with good sharables
We shared the deviled eggs, lamb sliders and chicken lettuce wraps - all very good. But the most enjoyable part was enjoying the breeze and weather from the rooftop patio overlooking the square. A+ for ambiance. Service was good, nothing special. I’d love to come back at night for a drink and enjoy the outdoor fireplace.
The name speak for itself
The name speak for itself: a restaurant on the top of a nice and modern building in Alpharetta's downtown. Location is really a beauty, both on the inside but most of all on the outside. The terrace is astonishing, especially at night or at the sunset. Great choice of beers and wine and very smart service. The food was ok, I ordered the rice with roasted duck and vegetables. I had great expectations, but were not completely satisfied. Anyway, I recommend It and I surely come back here next time in Alpharetta.
