For the price and experience of AYCE with a large group, I
For the price and experience of AYCE with a large group, I thought it was pretty good! I liked that servers were attentive and we could put in orders before the rest of our previous order came out (as they limit you to 3 dishes per order but it is definitely enough). The meh bites were: seaweed salad (standard seaweed salad), pork katsu (good but liked karaage better), sweet potato tempura (wasn't a huge fan though I usually am), cucumber salad (kind of flavorless), spicy tuna (meh), eel cucumber (small eel), and shrimp tempura hand roll (lacking flavor). Yums included: karaage fried chicken (++ for this one), french fries (surprisingly good), spicy salmon (one of my favorites we got!!), salmon avocado (also had great fresh chunks of salmon), sukiyaki beef hand roll (flavorful), tan tan udon (best broth), and the cold spicy beef udon (has a specific flavor but I was a fan). Overall had enough that I enjoyed for a positive experience!

I had seen this place in the middle of Kenmore for several months. The advertisements are very enticing and when they came up with the AYCE menu, I was ready to go for it . The meal itself was quite tasty but the service took forever to receive any dish. We often were not attended to and constantly were asking waitors if we could have a menu or were waiting for our water being refilled, etc. The whole service experience was not attentive and a little awkward. I'm not sure if it is typically better on other days, but this really made our experience less than positive.

We got the ayce deluxe course, the food was extremely subpar. The only items that were semi decent were the appetizers. Sushi rice was overcooked and would fall apart whenever you pick it up, the udon broth and noodles were very watery with no flavor, and the miso soup was overly salty. The wait times are pretty long despite them limiting how much food you can order per round. I hate to say but one of our servers had body odor so bad it ruined my appetite and I could see other customers were visibly uncomfortable.
Be the first to ReplyA disappointing experience - not due to the food.
We made reservations for dinner here to get the Ultimate course sushi for $82 per person. While we weren't expecting special treatment for ordering the most expensive option, it did feel like service was delayed to give us less time to eat with the time limit. It took 25 minutes to even get our order taken with the restaurant half empty and once done each course (of which you can only pick 3 items per person), the servers took their time coming to ask if we'd like anything else, roughly 30 minutes between orders. For an AYCE option, this isn't ideal if you are aiming to eat a lot. Before getting our second order, they were already asking for our last call. That being said, one of the waiters serving us was very helpful and would allow us to order more than the allotted 3 items per person. This was the only reason I feel we may have gotten our money worth from this experience. The food itself was very good. We stuck to the ultimate course options and enjoyed the soft shell crab, toro sashimi and nigiri, regular and uni wagyu sushi, uni crème udon, and Fenway roll. To summarize, food was worth the price, but service will go so slow you will be more worried you aren't getting your money's worth. Either go for a less pricey option or go somewhere else for AYCE.
Be the first to ReplySo bad.
Mojito $12 tasted like dishwashing waste water. Sushi is bad. Very little raw fish but a ton of rice.

It seems as if many Yelpers came here for the AYCE and left quite disappointed. I did not go down that road, so I can only speak for my one, very limited, takeout experience. The spicy beef udon noodle dish is an absolute home run, borderline perfect. The meat was tender and fatty, the noodles still toothsome, and the broth was next level tasty. I will be back for this - if I lived closer, I'd pick this up weekly.

The Waygu sushi here is amazing but they just changed the menu in the last few months. My husband and I went during restaurant week and were able to get the middle-priced AYCE option which at that time included the blue crab sushi and the Waygu sushi. Now those items have been moved to the more expensive premium AYCE option. The other food is still really good (truffle udon is amazing!!) but you get better bang for your buck during restaurant week. O
Be the first to ReplyNot sure how to feel about this spot.
Been a few times for both AYCE and a la carte. Seems like the quality is better for the latter even though it's the same food. I've noticed that the noodles are less chewy and overcooked when it's a hot soup base. Either way, the fatty beef option is really good. The uni creme has a mayo base that is too overpowering, wouldn't recommend. Clean spot, good service (checked on us like ten times) depending where you sit. If you're in a corner during lunch time it might take a solid 30 min before you're noticed.
Be the first to ReplySave yourself some money and don't try the AYCE here.
We came here on a Monday night, so it didn't look very busy at all. We ordered the value beef AYCE hotpot for our party of three. Keep in mind, choosing two broths for AYCE will cost you $3 extra PER person, and you may only order three items per person at a time, and only if your other dishes are cleared. They also don't have the typical large selection of hotpot sauces/garnishes, only the five sauces on your table. We also noticed that our hot plate was not placed in the middle of our table, making it difficult to use the hotpot. After ordering our first round of dishes, it took about ten minutes for the soup to come out. The soup was taking a suspiciously long time to boil, so our waiter changed out the hot plate and helped boil our soup on their stove, which was nice of them. By this point, we had already waited ~30min without having any food served to us yet. When our veggies and noodles first arrived, they were is small portions. The glass noodles barely had enough for two bites and there were only a couple pieces of cabbage and mushroom. We asked for more noodles and veggies after the first round, but again, it felt like eternity before they arrived. Also note that that veggies and udon are supposed to come out on a rolling basis (without needing to explicitly order again and again). This is definitely not the case as we had to ask about the veggies and udon several times. We also ordered some random fried dishes to try. I really enjoyed their spring rolls, they were super crispy and flavorful. The Takoyaki however, was disappointing because it was all dough and a pea-size piece of octopus. We also ordered chicken karaage in our first round and didn't receive it until maybe an hour later. The chicken karaage was also subpar and poorly made. We constantly found ourselves asking our server about our missing dishes, and waiting around as our table was often empty, which defeats the whole purpose of AYCE. We even had to ask for a broth refill because our broth was at the point of drying out, which is something I typically don't need to ask for in a hotpot restaurant. Overall, the food was good but not amazing nor worth the price. I appreciate how much the servers tried to help us, but the service was just so slow for a Monday night. While looking at their menus, it felt like they are trying to do too many things at once (AYCE hotpot and AYCE sushi/udon) which may be why our hotpot experience was less than ideal. I wouldn't recommend this place to friends, but I would want to try something else from their menu that isn't AYCE.
Be the first to ReplyMy friend and I went for the Sushi and Udon All You Can
My friend and I went for the Sushi and Udon All You Can Eat, and we were impressed. Firstly, the food itself was very good - we especially enjoyed the spicy salmon roll - it was delicious. In addition, the service was excellent - the servers were all super helpful and kept checking up on us, and all the food came out very quick, which is ideal for an AYCE experience. The restaurant itself has a really nice vibe; it's the perfect mix between casual and chic, and it's comfortable. I also have to say that the price for the AYCE is very reasonable! Considering the quality of the food, as well as how good the service was, the price is incredible. I definitely would recommend this place for a good quality, delicious, and well priced AYCE sushi experience. I am so glad I ate here and I would love to return again!
Be the first to ReplyService was great and I was lucky to have found a street
Service was great and I was lucky to have found a street parking spot nearby. We got the chicken karaage, sweet potatoes tempura, US wagyu truffle udon, and some sushi rolls. I enjoyed the food but honestly wasn't extraordinarily special to me I guess. The udon broth was flavorful but on the saltier soy sauce side. We wanted to uni creme but it was not available. We also wanted to sesame dessert but that was also not available. We got the yuzu ice cream instead and it was nice a tarty.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious lunch at Tsurutontan in Boston.
We tried sushi & udon lunch set and ginger pork weekly lunch set. Awesome deal and so much food! Only $15 per lunch set.

Needless to say, I'm glad I had this wonderful opportunity! I chose the chicken thigh option with shabu shabu broth and udan noodles along with cabbage, shimeji mushrooms, and bok chai. It came out delicious! The owner was nice enough to allow me to sample their USDA choice beef and that was excellent as well. As part of the All You Can Eat promo, you can choose any appetizers that you want. I went with the following: California sushi roll -- fresh, flavorful & delicious! Vegetable spring rolls -- very good, could've eaten hundreds Karaage fried chicken -- wasn't much different than any other fried chicken I've had but it was still good. Let's talk about the general atmosphere. The place is very low-key yet very welcoming. They played a nice medley of soft rock music which enhanced the laid back atmosphere. There's two levels to this place. The bottom level appears to be their main dining area while the upper level has a full serve bar with some sectioned-off dining tables. Both levels were beautiful looking, very well organized and immaculately clean! Finally, let's talk service. Impeccable. Outstanding. First Class. Above and Beyond. Those are the words that come to mind when I think of the service I received here. The employees are on top of everything but not too over the top. They seemed to time everything just right in terms of when I needed a plate removed, drink refilled, etc. Everyone was highly professional and very personable and it truly sealed the deal on what was an outstanding dining experience! I would absolutely return to this establishment and I would absolutely recommend that everyone check this place out!

I love this place! The udon is made fresh and is absolutely delicious. The portions are HUGE and you get a good bang for your buck. They have happy hour during the week everyday, and the udon noodle dishes are discounted during that time. It comes to about $20-$25 a dish, but like I said, huge portions. I always have so much to take home to save for later. The sweet potato sushi and karaage are well priced as well, about $8-$10 for the appetizer dishes. If you are looking for some delicious, fresh udon, this is your place!

Walked in on a Saturday night after seeing multiple reservations for hot pot open on Rezy. Hostess downstairs told us to go upstairs since we didn't have a reservation as seating was first come first serve. The upstairs host would not seat us as we didn't have a reservation and told us hot pot was booked up for the evening and we could not be accommodated. Zero stars would not recommend. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise, I've ready so many negative reviews within the last 30 days.
Be the first to ReplyAYCE menu is small.
Didn't really fill us up. Service is nice but they did forget a few items which we didn't mind too much since we were full already. We came during a busy time so it was understandable. Both wasn't as tasty and the sauce portion is plain.

We been here before multiple times and always impress with the ramen quality. Never disappointed with the ramen quality and the sushi quality. BUT! They just open the hot pot services, and let me tell you, don't try their all you can eat hot pot. It's the saddest hot pot I ever eat. Image taking the boiling waters and dumping 2 pounds of salt and having three strips of meat and 3 pieces of veggies in the pot. I mean they will bring the meat and veggies out for you continuously, but it took them forever. This doesn't taste like hot pot at all! It taste like we are eating a big pot of boiling udon ramen. Walking out their with $57/ person , and we had to go to McDonald's for food right after.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was so neglectful to us from the time we arrived.
We were greeted kindly as we came in and given the wrong seat for regular dining instead of hotpot (which is what we reserved). Then proceeded to tell us when we tried to correct it that they didn't have any other hotpot tables available. Once speaking to the manager again they finally fixed it. The first table we sat at took a while for someone to come and ask us if we would like to get something started. After moving to the hotpot table it was the same issue but it would have been even longer if we didn't have to get up and ask someone to pay attention to us in the corner. Once things got started and we placed our order the broth was brought over to us and the plate to keep the broth warm and boiling was not even on let alone plugged in. Our sushi came out pretty quickly but one of them was completely forgotten about and not even put in but kindly the manager took care of it for us. This places has potential to be a great place to visit but it's obvious they are attentive to some guests and what I felt like not all.

This place is underrated! My Japanese friends approved! They have so many choices! I love both the deluxe salmon set and the seafood pink cream. The pink cream it's the as pink as the picture but it's still cool! Very fulfilling. They are pretty busy during dinner time. It's neat and clean. The food came out really fast I'll definitely come back and try more dishes!
Be the first to ReplyWas so looking forward to a nice Japanese dinner.
But was disappointed. Service was meh! We were served sashimi (just slivers) without a bowl for the soya sauce and I had to go looking for it. Then they forgot the gluten free soya sauce. It's not over yet...the ramen came without spoons and chopsticks. We waited thinking the server went to get them but was nowhere in the vicinity. Again I had to look for the server as the ramen was getting cold. Finally , I asked another server for the chopsticks and spoons. The tan tan mein was just only udon noodles with a teaspoon of ground pork... So stingy with the proteins... and to top it all the dessert was the crepe pastry from Lady M but cut in halves. Had enough for one night.
Be the first to ReplyAs a college student, this place is a staple for take-out.
Very good portions for the price, very tasty udon, and an overall amazing restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time I came before Covid, the food was great.
Fast forward to last night when coming back to try before the Sox game and NOT EVER COMING BACK. The takiyaki, it's lukewarm and so doughy like I was eating a donut instead of a takoyaki. The udon dishes we ordered were overcooked and way too soggy for udon. Finally the sushi/omakase set had canned tuna?! WTF?? The entire plate of Sushi were awful. I had food poisoning last night and was in the bathroom more than I can count. Those with me also fell sick shortly we left the restaurant. I wasn't able to enjoy my evening after I had dinner there. Won't be a returning customer ever!! This was the worst experience we all had.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant has great value lunch specials.
I stopped in because of a recommendation from a classmate. The restaurant is located in a central part of Boston with a lot of foot traffic outside. Despite this, everything seamed cheap and their lunch specials are great for the price. I could go to Chipotle and pay the same price for lunch if not more. Some of the rolls I liked were the sweet potato and mango avocado. They have good vegan/vegetarian rolls, but its worth noting that every soup's base broth has fish and seaweed in it as our server told us. I also had the salmon skin roll which was definitely not my favorite, but the soy tatsuta donburi is great and I would eat it again. The place was pretty empty during lunch but the service was still slow. If you're looking for an affordable bite whether by yourself or as a big group, I would recommend this place.
Be the first to ReplyGreat price and pretty good food to match.
Come here often when in area and honestly never disappointed.

An underrated gem! In terms of bang for your buck, this place wins. I can only name a few other places where the quality matches the price and this is certainly one ofThem. If you are looking for a filling and tasty place, this is the one! Large portions, good taste, and friendly staff.
