I would like to point out that the menu had already been established. From the starter to the dessert everything was very good and the portions were really generous. I recommend this restaurant even if it is perhaps not so centrally located
Book in advance & question the menu!
Be sure to book a table in advance if you don't want to be limited to 90 minutes. The food was great but ask about what comes with your meal, if you order a steak that's all you get (maybe with a mushroom sauce). Can't fault the quality of the food, it's proper Italian cuisine and the staff were great once you were allowed in by the fearsome manageress/owner (only joking, she was lovely really ;-).

Among the best cabonares in Rome but at hyper-touristy prices
As a Roman, objectively one of the best carbonaras I've ever tasted. And in this the fame of the place is fully deserved. Apart from this, a very crowded place with decidedly crowded tables, staff that are anything but welcoming and excessively high prices.
Worth trying to get a booking but would not go out this way speculatively
Definitely worth a visit if you can find the place and make a booking. We went past about 45 minutes before they opened at 8pm and managed to get a table. Although we were told they wanted it back at 9.30 there was no pressure to leave. When we returned for our booking there was quite a group outside. We thought the place was tiny but they do have a space downstairs which is where we were seated. Our waiter was very helpful translating where required and outlining the specials. We had starters of the charcuterie selection and a burrata with artichokes; bothe were excellent. Pasta main courses also very good. Wide-ranging wine list as well. It was close to where we were staying but tucked away in a quiet side-street not too far from a metro stop.
Like others my husband and I would refused served.
I am very obviously pregnant and we walked over 3 miles to get here. Immediately at the door we were told we had no reservation - when I showed him our reservation that our hotel had personally called to confirm, he did not even check our name and just yelled again no reservation. The only reason I can think is that we are American. There is no excuse to treat people this way without cause, especially those excited to be in the city and try your restaurant. Would give zero stars if I could.

The best cacio e pepe in Rome. Restaurant recommended to us by the airbnb host and we were very satisfied! Delicious and quality dishes. Average prices and adequate for the quality!
An unforgettable carbonara
They recommended this restaurant to me because it "makes the best carbonara in Rome". Now I can't say whether it's the best carbonara in the city or not because I certainly haven't tried them all, I can only say that, to avoid making mistakes, the next times I pass through Rome, I already know where to go to eat! All really delicious, congratulations!
Excellent carbonara
Excellent cuisine, truly space-age carbonara as per "fame", very balanced in flavor, not excessively salty as usually happens. Vote 10! Excellent artichoke and amatriciana meatballs. The tiramisu is also good. Prices as high as everywhere else now. The staff was courteous to us!

Saw a video on their cheese wheel pasta and was very excited to try it. You really need to make a reservation here as there is not much seating, however we got there early and they were able to get us in. I ordered the Cacio de Pepe, and my husband ordered the carbonara. So unlike the video they did not come to the table to toss your pasta in the cheese wheel but I did see them prepare it. Pasta in Italy in general Al denti and continues to "soften" as you eat. Overall it was ok I ended up having a better Cacio de Pepe elsewhere but the ambiance and wine selection was very nice.

2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ImmortalStep65, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ImmortalStep65 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ImmortalStep65 for any questions Peter may have as ImmortalStep65 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ImmortalStep65 now uses their connections at Trattoria Da Danilo Roma to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ImmortalStep65 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ImmortalStep65 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ImmortalStep65's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Trattoria Da Danilo Roma!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
