Toho Antigua , anytime comfort food
Toho Antigua has not changed its taste from the time our dad would bring us to the resto in Binondo til now when it expanded to BF Homes, Paranaque. We ordered their Chinese food take-out, being pandemic now, via phone. When we got there in about an hour, everything was ready and we didnt need to wait. Our comfort food from their menu has never changed: Yang Chow Fried rice, sweet & sour pork and lumpiang shanghai (fried rolls with ground pork). Staple 3! The lumpiang shanghai didn’t use extenders. The ground meat was thick and tasty. We decided to add the fish fillet with garlic for the first time- this was a disappointment. We also added theur version of Hainanese white chicken. This one was delicious and I savored each bite by dipping it generously in the ginger sauce! Love it! Don’t forget to order the crisp Pinsit Frito for appetisers, their version of “chips.” It is actually a dot of ground meat wrapped in wanton and then fried. Ahhh we were happy with our take out Chinese lunch - delicious, close-to-home cooking and truly value for money. Not expensive at all.
Be the first to Replythere was a roach in my food and they did nothing about it
my friend and i were hungry so i decided to try this resto. service was somehow slow even though the resto wasnt full
so we ordered the noodles, but upon mixing it ,we were shocked that there was a dead roach in our noodles. we complained to the waiter, who did nothing, so we asked for the manager. the manager just said that he will replace it . the rest of the food trip was already badvibes. they still charged us for the noodles
will never go back here again
MESSY PRESENTATION and SLOW SERVICE
We have chosen this place because we were so hungry already. The other viands was served except for 1...our order of 1 CUP SALTED FISH RICE... We had to wait more than 30 mins for this 1 cup of rice. All other other orders were cold already by the time they served this 1 cup of rice with it's egg dangling from the cup

I was so sleepy after eating. the service is not good
do i recommend this place? definitely not. there are other restos which are worth the money
Terrific Toho
This is a restaurant from my youth.
In the ‘70s, my parents took the entire family frequently to their original location in T. Pinpin. Those dinner visits are often coupled with drive bys at the CCP or movies at Escolta, after hearing mass at a nearby church.
Our favorites are still being served. Hototay and nido soups, asado cold cuts, their signature crispy fried chicken, sautéed beef, shrimp in green peas and cashew, broccoli flower, camarron rebosado, yang chow fried rice. Plus their specialty, pancit canton.
Everything was delicious and brought back childhood memories.
Still the best, and the original “authentic and affordable” Chinese cuisine, Toho !
Pancit Canton HEAVEN!
Am pancit canton crazy - this place has the best so far! non-sparing in the "sahog" - shrimp, meat, liver, veggies - just wish they raised the price instead of lessening the food : ( - but will definitely and always be back anyway! Try their crispy squid head! Yummy! great value for money!
Simple, comfort Chinese Food
Had lunch at Toho Antigua in BF Homes Sucat with my fam when we happened to be in the area. This dates back to 1888, with its original resto in Chinatown Binondo. When we were kids, our parents loved travelling all the way from our home in Balintawak to Binondo just to have lunch or dinner there. I still remember it to have high back heavy wooden chairs & tables, thick drinking glasses, chopsticks and China made plates. The place was always full even on weekdays. The new branch is of course modern, more spacious, airconditioned and cleaner. The menu serves popular Chinese items. The taste of the items in the menu remained the same, except perhaps the use of MSG. The PinSec Prito is still tops, dipped in sweet & sour sauce. Ditto with the bowls of Yang Chow Fried rice. Still delicious! - and abundant in ingredients- shrimp, egg, etc. The Nido Soup is also good. The spare ribs was a bit spicy and dry but still good. I would have preferred the sweet & sour pork to be crisp and less saucy. This one isnt to my taste. All in all, eating lunch here is like eating Chinese food at home. Still good and reliable.

We liked their Yang Chow Rice. Servings were more than we had expected. Their Pancit canton were very good. Noodles texture was tender. Though they can lessen the liver cuts and put more chicken or pork meat. Ambience needs improvement. There was an area were droples of rain are falling. It took much longer for my card and receipt to come back to me. Seems they have forgotten about it. They need to smile or be pleasant more. Their supervisor has that poker face. No smile at all and even his staff.
