London Pub elevated
Stopped by for dinner and were fortunate to get last table in bar as restaurant was full with reservations. Waitress was at our table immediately, even though it was packed with locals for a pint after work. Ordered beet spread with flat bread which was amazing for our starter. My husband ordered trout cake with lobster bisque and I had pea ravioli. Both exceeded our expectations. Again service was tremendous between waitress & bar keep, we never were without a pint or G&T. Highly recommend this authentic pub.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent in every way.
Historic pub with upstairs dining. Hard to say anything but great things. We had Wild Mushroom Bourguignon, Chicken Supreme, Apple and Blackberry Crumble and Sticky Toffee pudding. All were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Downstairs has a lively pub atmosphere, upstairs everyone was enjoying their food and having fun (but not too noisy). I will definitely go again.
Be the first to ReplyNice old boozer, crazy food prices.
Went to meet a mate for a couple of pints and Sunday roast. It’s a lovely old pub, and in fairness it’s probably geared up more to the tourists, especially as Paddington Station is just down the road. Beer was fine, bar service was slow. Roast beef dinner was £22, which felt expensive for what it was. Wouldn’t recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Experience
I booked The Victoria for a lunch with friends before we attended a fashion show nearby at St John’s Church. It is a lovely old characterful place, we loved the dining areas upstairs. We ate in the theatre room, but took a peak at the library room too, both fabulous and cosy. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Service was great, nothing too much trouble when we a couple of friends wanted to change things up a bit. All of the food was delicious, cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Everyone in our party of seven, were more than happy. We like the idea of mini puds with a choice of hot drink as sometimes a large dessert is just too much after a starter and a main. They were just perfect. Two of us actually shared a crumble and ice-cream dessert, which was great. Pricing is very reasonable for London, even the wine. On leaving, downstairs was very busy with a mixture of diners and drinkers. There seemed to be a lovely atmosphere. To dine upstairs, you have to use a spiral staircase which is quite steep for anyone with mobility issues. One of our group needed assistance but was fine with help. We would definitely recommend visiting and eating there if you find your self in the area. So glad we chose The Victoria
Be the first to ReplyStunning Traditional Pub
Stunning traditional pub set away from the main streets. Relaxing atmosphere even when a rugby Six Nations game on TV. The bar looks small on entry but there is an upstairs.
Be the first to ReplyA great pub in Paddington
We tried several pubs, but the Victoria stand way above all of them. The food is awesome. The lamb shoulder is terrific. We went multiple times. The specials are great. The service was excellent. Glad to get to help you. The pub is absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this pub. Short walk from the Paddington station Don’t miss out on this place.

Be the first to ReplyNeed to get yourself customer focussed staff
Sunday lunch is okay. Staff not so great. A lot of customers turn up with suitcases. After all it's a 5 min walk from one of the busiest railroad stations on the planet (Paddington), which happens to deliver passengers to one of the busiest airports in the world (LHR). When I asked one of the staff if they had any storage on the ground floor, I got the sarcastic, answer "this is a pub mate". I hauled my bags up a spiral staircase, watched others do same, watched a mother with young child haul their stroller up the same narrow spiral staircase. Most customers had bags. Smart ass "bloke" who was server - not customer focussed.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service
Excellent welcome and service. Drinks were good as well. Overall a great pub. Toilets were down a spiral staircase so go before you’ve had a few but other than that, great!
Be the first to ReplyCatching up with old friends
We visited for dinner and a catchup with friends we hadn't seen for about 10 years. We were seated in one of the upper rooms which could have been a squeeze but turned out to have plenty of room. The food was excellent and arrived as quickly as you would expect, something for everyone including a couple of fussy eaters. The staff looked after us very well.
Be the first to ReplyA beautiful old school local
I came in with a friend for a few drinks. They have a decent selection on tap. The pub feels like a local and is beautifully decorated inside being very traditional. There is a TV which is tucked away. They were busy downstairs but there is additional space upstairs. The toilets were good for a pub.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional Hospitality
Went with a group of 6 friends to celebrate a Pre Wedding Lunch. The food was very good as usual, but the most Remarkable thing was the Hospitality given to us by Sophia, she made the day feel more special by the way she treated us. So Thank you Sophia, our only regret is that we didn’t get a chance to give you a personal tip.
Be the first to ReplyGreat pub with wonderful traditional features & great food
Had a work event here where we hired the room upstairs for a team meeting then had dinner here. Fab setting, lovely and traditional features, wonderful food with great service. Would highly recommend the rib eye steak and sticky toffee pudding.
Be the first to ReplyThought it'd lost it's spark!
I have been an ‘on-and-off’ regular if you will for some years now and thought the pub had lost its spark till I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Emma twice last week - my hearing is not as good as it used to be, and so she made sure to speak clearly and kindly, without making me feel too old, and she remembered my husband and my order after only serving us only once: such a charming young lady! I just came in again in hopes of being served by her, but instead was met by her colleague, who was not nearly as friendly and knowledgeable (hence the three star review instead of the five). I will come back and hopefully be served by the delightful Emma again! A real asset to the team!
Be the first to ReplySunday menu selection good but need to work on flavour
Good that they offer more than a roast on Sunday. Lovely old pub. However poor selection of wine and mushroom bourguignon could have done with more mushrooms and bourguignon as it was missing the red wine base.
Be the first to ReplyDelightful meal after a long day of touring
I was able to book a reservation two hours before we wanted to eat, which was a pleasant surprise. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly and after a minute shown to a table in the Theater room. It was lovely and cozy and quite full which is a good sign. It was clear that it also is a local as the pub was also crowded and lively. We ordered a cheese board which was presented beautifully and was delicious! The Barman made sure we had more bread to joy with the cheese without our asking. We then had fish & chips which was piping hot and fresh. As we finished, the barman indicated that we were welcome to sit and enjoy our drinks without having to rush off which was nice. I would highly recommend this place for someone looking for a nice meal, relaxing atmosphere and a true Pub feel. I'll be back next time I'm in London!
Be the first to ReplyGreat pub
Me and my wife visited this pub on a Saturday, we were lucky and found immediately a table for us. You are going to have to order at the bar ( both food and drinks) and bring your drinks yourself, the food is served from the super friendly waiters (love the fact that you can get drinks immediately) . We ordered the the sausages, fries, Shepherd’s Pie (definitely try this) and we enjoyed all the food. It’s definitely a place to try if visiting London!
Be the first to ReplyNice place!
Food is great and the place is beautiful. Staff is very friendly people. Worth checking if you are in the neighborhood.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Atmosphere!
Amazing place to go to, truly magiacl atmosphere, straigght out of some movie or book. The service was up to par and so was the food. Being honest, I went in for a drink with my soon to be father in law, but we ended up overeating instead... So glad we chose this spot, because I have been passing by it for months now. You won't make a mistake visitin The Victoria.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful decor and ambience
If you are looking for a real traditional English pub with the superb interior in the area, this is the one and your guests from overseas will certainly be impressed. The waiter is very welcoming and friendly, which you may experience the opposite at some pubs in the central London. London Pride is well-kept. A quick but pleasant visit for us.
Be the first to Replygood food even for non-drinkers
we don't drink nor smoke. this 'authentic' pub has a dining room upstairs, the "theatre", and we could have good pub food comfortably here. we could luckily book a table online for an early dinner within an hour ahead of the time. the pub looked extremely popular. tables outdoor in the garden were also full. this outdoor setting appeared more relaxed and enjoyable compared to the enclosed outdoor of a nearby pub, the swan, of hyde park. (both are apparently run by the same management company.) the service was excellent in the dining room.
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere and good pub grub
Every time when we visit London we make sure to go to this pub and were never disappointed. Unbeatable atmosphere and absolutely buzzing! We always have a great evening!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to spend an evening
I was staying in the area unexpectedly for one night as my flight out of Heathrow had been cancelled, and so I looked up local pubs and thought the Victoria had the ambience that I was looking for. And how right I was! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff and a lively, convivial atmosphere among the regulars and the tourists. The owner--Pat, I believe his name was--came over a couple of times for a chat, and I just thought that he was such a lovely and friendly man. I had some great beers as well as a wonderful steak pie meal comprised of very nice homemade pastry (I asked Pat and he said that his wife had made it) and some great chips and veggies--a perfect English pub meal! This is the kind of place that everyone wishes that they had in their own neighbourhood. If I'm ever back in the area, then I promise to seek out the Victoria again. It would be worth the effort.
Be the first to ReplyEven better than expected
My last day in London, I decided to go to a pub and eat a burger or something simple and heavy. I usually tend to get Asian food or something healthy, but I figured I may as well go to an actual British pub just once. Since I was close to Paddington Station, I chose this place -- and I was wowed! The decor was really ornate and charming. The staff was very accommodating and I enjoyed listening to their banter with the customers. Everyone can hear everything that's said in the room: I don't know if that's typical but I thought it created a kind of general conversation, which was kind of fun. It turns out I wasn't hungry enough to get a burger or a savory pie, so I had a salad. I was impressed! It had a lot of (I presume) local and seasonal ingredients, like samphire, fresh peas, spelt, apple, and asparagus. I also had a lemony steak appetizer with shaved pecorino on top, which was delicious. What a wonderful memory of my last meal in London this time around.
Be the first to Replysuprise 60th birthday
This was a party arranged as a surprise. Our party was a mixture of adults and children. We had our table in a room upstairs, the stairs are a challenge for someone with mobility issues. Most of the party said the food was ok, personally the burger i had was a bit average but it was ok. Service was very good waitresses were polite and helpful
