3 stars at best.
I had high expectations going in but was disappointed on the way out. They dumbed down the restaurant, super loud, uninteresting and cheap decor, and zero vibe. Sorings rolls chewy not crisp.....shaking beef was much better. Not worth the drive

I've been twice and was impressed with the unique food offerings and cocktails. Pricey but worth it in my opinion

Location - 5Had heard good things about Slanted Door and how difficult it was to get reservations. We must have got lucky when a reservation opened up a couple of days prior for a Saturday night. The location in the Ferry building is excellent with a great view of the Bay Bridge. The food - 2I've eaten pho and Vietnamese cuisine from Arizona to Sacramento and San Francisco. The broth and other foods here is nothing impressive, overpriced for no apparent reason.

I visited San Fransisco for the very first time last year on a work trip (pre-pandemic) and I had heard really great things about this restaurant. I had a few extra hours when I arrived so I took myself down here for lunch and was really unimpressed. I still give it 3 stars because the service was good and the food was fine, just did not live up to my standards. It just tasted like a standard Vietnamese restaurant and I really didn't understand the hype. In fact, the next night a coworker took us to a hole in the wall Vietnamese place that was 10x better! I will likely not be returning.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my very favorite restaurants on the planet.
Located in a festive location in SF. Great service and delicious food. We were nervous when they moved from the Mission but the flavors, food and culture still holds. Just delicious.

Fresh and fragrant this Vietnamese food has both beauty and pow. You will remember this restaurant through the turn of many seasons.

I wish I could have dinner here every night!!!! Every single dish was full of flavor, the view was amazing and the service was great! Definitely better than the San Ramon location.

This place was great back in the day, but it seems that they have sold out to the Ferry Building tourist crowd. Dishes are served within minutes of ordering... a super RED FLAG. The food simply isn't fresh! Friends don't let friends eat at Slanted Door
Be the first to ReplyDined here with a friend during the Women's March in 2018.
Between the massive throngs of people at the Ferry Building & trying to find said friend, I can barely remember what I ate here. That being said, it'd be amazing to see this place grow in a similar fashion to PF Chang's or Panda Express.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a fantastic restaurant.
The food is high quality, the flavors are wonderful, you can eat and have a breathtaking view of the Bay Bridge day or night. I take all my out of town visitors here and my husband and I dine here or at Out the Door often. But Out the Door, of course, does not have the view. The only downside is that it is loud so it can be hard to have a conversation. But its very festive and great to share dishes.
Be the first to ReplyIt's okay.
I feel it was over priced Vietnamese food I could have eaten somewhere else for a lot cheaper. Not exactly sure what this hype is all about. I will probably not recommend this place.
Be the first to ReplyFood went downhill.
Waitstaff was inattentive. I like this place when it first open. Generally disappointed. Will not go back.
Be the first to ReplyHad a very tasty lunch there today.
Waiter was great. Now why only 2 stars?? The prices are ridiculously high. Chicken claypot... 6 small pieces of chicken in broth $35!!! The appetizer 6 small pieces of crispy roll, lettuce, and sauce $25. Drinks $15. We aren't cheap but this was just too high for lunch. Will not be back.
