We attended as a special treat as it's 'usually' nice but expensive. Starters were fine but .....oh dear, after that things went south rather quickly. Wife had lamb which she said was nice bur not great I had the duck, at least, it said it was duck but with the strongest sauce ever to grace a dinner plate, it could have been grilled Tofu. Now, before the Vegan brigade start complaining, I've nothing against Tofu, honest, but, I do take umbridge to being presented with a small amount of meat which had been drowned in a powerful meat taste killing weaponised sauce, which I can still taste now , several days later. We also had special french style potato which really just wasn't that special and not that hot. Go for the souffle I hear you cry, it's always great, what a treat, go on !! So we did.... Now usually it takes 20+ minutes so I was surprised when it came out, breaking the Souffle making Cumbria district record by quite a fair margin. Well, it looked alright as I collected my devouring utensil but .....NO !! These was a reason why it was so quick , too high a heat. So, nice and brown on the top, a cm or so of souffle then moulton hot, think the surface of the sun, crazy hot liquid souffle ingredients which my son managed to burn his mouth on. So, all in all with a bill north of £170 for 3, inc couple of cokes and one alcoholic drink, not impressed.
