I've been checking off the boxes (restaurants) since my daughter moved to the German Village area. The Old Mohawk is one everyone should try. Great for lunch. What's not to like about Pub/Bar food and a cold beer? Typical "pub" atmosphere. Service was good. I will one day make it back to this location.

Be the first to ReplyWe had a pleasant experience at The Old Mohawk.
We came in on a Saturday night around 4:30 p.m. and it was a little crowded, but we did not have to wait. It was more of a casual atmosphere that is perfect for kids and families. We were quickly greeted by our server who asked for our drink orders. She was very friendly and attentive. We ordered a chicken quesadilla and a Turkey Reuben (no kraut) with potato pancakes. The quesadilla was pretty standard, but delicious nonetheless. I really enjoyed the Turkey Reuben, especially the honey mustard sauce that they give you for dipping. The potato pancakes were perfectly crunchy and were served with sour cream for dipping. The menu has a lot of options, so there is definitely something for everyone. Overall I really enjoyed this meal and would return again if I am in the area.

Columbus Trip; close to German Village, great little spot within the neighborhood. Came in for lunch, super cute rustic homely feel spot. Food; ordered the French Dip, and it was tasty so good, and perfect about of meat to bread ratio. French Fries, were crisp and yummy. Could share if not overly hungry. Service; CJ was great, and friendly.

This is a unique place that has a lot of regulars. We sat down and were immediately greeted by our server. I ordered the Mother Mohawk. It was a great combination, they rye bread was delicious. The horseradish sauce was the little extra that it needed! A cool spot that I would revisit!

I lived across the street for years and this was my regular dinner, drinks, date nights, dinner w/ friends - spot. Moved away years ago. I've continued to stop in over the years. The last three times have been pretty bad. My meals have been cold. Not just 'sat too long cold', but 'frozen in the center' or still chilled cold. The outside barely warm. Definitely not fresh from the oven warmth, which I wouldn't expect - but not low microwave temp. These were meatloaf twice and lasagna last time. It's lost it's charm for me and with consistently poor food and mediocre service, it's no longer worth the effort. I like supporting local, but it should be worth the expense.
