Amazing service, food and atmosphere.
My visit to The Mercer was a wonderful experience and my colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service was wonderful from the beginning and the food was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing service- Client dinner
I have booked one of the meeting rooms for private room for 17 people on Monday night. It was a business dinner with Client attending the event. From a very beginning the contact with the events team was poor- on the day of the events my questions weren't answered at all. Unfortunately it was worst during the event:Please see some points below: - on arrival the room was dark and quiet - atmosphere poor. - there was noone to serve drink or to talk to during the event nobody checking in on the group or serving the drinks - Took nearly 45 minutes to turn music on - Service was just one server for 17; two people left before dessert was served (after 9pm) Considering the minimum spend was £1500 I consider it a very disappointing level of service resulting in my Manager advising me not to book the restaurant ever again. What's worst it did not represented the level of care to our CLients and we feel there is an opportunity lost here.
Be the first to ReplyGreat evening
Came here for my works belated Christmas party. We hired the function room upstairs and had a champagne reception on arrival, access to a cloak room and then a beautifully arranged long table where we enjoyed a tasty 3 course meal. It was a great evening!

We were in one of the tiny private rooms and it was terrible (The Silk Room). Food was ok. Service was good. I would not use that again.
Be the first to ReplyGreat for lunch with a client
A tasty piece of Sea Bass washed down with a glass of Chablis complimented by excellent service by the waitresses. Always a safe bet when looking for good quality food in a decent environment. See you soon.
Be the first to ReplyNice place for food and wine
Had a business dinner there last Wednesday. Food was very good and the selection of wine is excellent. Service good. Standard London prices. It was very very empty so not much atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyExpected more
Great location, expected more for the price though. A lovely old converted banking hall nicely repurposed, but not quite working yet. £160 for two with a litre of moderately priced wine. Main courses at £20-30 come with nothing, which seems mean. Chips and sides from £3.75. Good selection of wine by the glass and 250ml carafe, although two of our choices seemed poorly kept. One to try again once normal service is resumed post Covid

Delicious, perfect. I loved it. The atmosphere was just wonderful and my tastebuds were practically dancing. The most enjoyable experience of my entire life. The service was spectacular everyone was so polite. I definitely recommend this amazing restaurant. Please visit their online service (delivery) Riso Paradiso. It is amazingly good.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, wonderful service, excellent value for money.
We were looking for somewhere to have dinner on a small break to London and stumbled across this gem. A former banking hall, decked out in monochrome with a very classy feel. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a cosy table with a view of the lovely old fittings. We had the special offer three course meal where we had a choice of three starters, three mains and two desserts and a bottle of prosecco for £28 a head!! Amazing! The service was prompt and attentive without being over bearing. When our glasses were empty, they were quickly refilled and each course came out at just the right time. The food was plentiful, beautifully presented, expertly prepared and delicious. The tables were adequately spaced to allow for social distancing and although we did not sit down til 8pm and had to leave the premises at 10pm due to the Government Guidelines, we never felt rushed. A lovely treat in the middle of a pandemic! Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyAn excellent, traditional restaurant
In an age of fast food and minimalist decor, The Mercer is a joy to visit. A traditional establishment with linen tablecloths and napkins, and even hand towels in the toilets. Service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. But best of all is the food. We had the Friday evening set menu. All the dishes were a bit different. All the starters we had were excellent. So were the mains, particularly the Mercer Pie, an individual portion of steak and mushroom in its own pie dish with a side of peas and baby carrots. Two of us had the hot desserts but the two men were too full and opted for mixed ice cream. Nobody was disappointed. Included were a bottle of Prosecco and one of Malbec between the four of us. For this we paid £28 plus service. Excellent value.

The company I work for booked a private dining room at the mercer for our christmas party. The room sat 21 people very comfortably and was located on the lower ground of the restaurant. The booking process was straight forward and the menu choices were good on paper and in reality. We pre-ordered in advance and the service was great, they made a note of everyone’s names beforehand so they could dish out the courses efficiently without little fuss. They were attentive without being too much, and we all had a fantastic time! Would recommend!
Be the first to ReplyGreat evening dinner
Have meant to try this restaurant for years - wasn’t disappointed when I finally got round to it! Classy evening venue with a wide ranging menu. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Perfect for a dinner meeting or catching up with friends (atmosphere was good but not too noisy). Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyDon't bother for breakfast
I haven't been to the Mercer for about 8 years and remember dinner being lovely those many moons ago. However, had a business breakfast here and it was poor at best. Service was slow, and should have been quick given you want to be in and out during breakfast. Orders arrived wrong, which makes me wonder what the waiter had written down. I repeatedly said the order and pointed to it on the menu to make sure. Poached eggs were fridge cold in the middle and not quite cooked in the whites. The 'toast' was some stale bread that had barely licked a grill... and 'smashed avocado' was literally half avocado on the side... Not exactly asking for Michelin starred cooking here, just some decent eggs on toast. The breakfast menu sounds good but fails to deliver.
