Felt like I am in a riviera
Must say Milot was very accommodating, made us feel like we were in a riviera, gave us a great table by the canal on the first floor with great views, sun, delicious drinks and fab friendly approach and service. We’ll be back next weekend for sure!
Be the first to ReplySlow slow and slower
Nice location next to the river but bar service is so slow ! Every time we got drinks only 2 people on the bar and 8 deep queue. Took for ever as lots of cocktails being ordered . Staff and the manager just ignored it . in fact second time there were 6 of them have their meal in an area next to the bar! But they collect the empty glasses very quickly ! Just poor management but guess they know people will stop there anyway for the location . Shame as it could have been a much pleasanter experience if the place was well managed .

This is a nice bar and on a warm day has some lovely seating outside which is a great spot to watch the world go by. There are some outdoor heaters but when we visited only one was working. There’s plenty of seating inside but it does feel more geared to dining and when busy I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable staying for just drinks. There’s a rather limited range of drinks, with only one draught lager offered, and only a handful of flavoured gins, which is a shame given the size of the bar. But when you’re sat outside the table service is fast and effective even when busy. Prices aren’t too bad given the location. For a relaxing drink in the summer I’d return.
Be the first to ReplyVery poor customer service- don’t go there if you are thirsty.
The pub was busy, which you have to expect on a Friday night. However they clearly did not have enough bar staff and one was a trainee who needed help to open a bottle of wine. I appreciate we all need to start somewhere but why put a trainee in the busiest part of the pub on a Friday night? Plus the people serving cocktails had to read the ingredients off a list ( hardly Tom Cruise in cocktail). So after queuing for about 20 mins I asked one of the staff if I could get a drink upstairs- he replied yes as long as I paid for it there. So ,cash in hand, I headed upstairs- restaurant fairly empty and about three staff standing at the bar. I was greeted politely and asked, “ How can I help?” I replied , “ I’d like a bottle of wine please.” She asked where I was sitting, I replied downstairs. She directed me back to the bar. I told her a staff member told me I could buy a drink upstairs. She responded with, “ Oh he’s new, he made a mistake,” There was absolutely no reason why she could not serve me. Ridiculous! Will not be going there again.
Be the first to ReplyStunning location. Lovely food. Let down by some staff attitudes and wait times for meals.
The location of this restaurant is stunning. The food was lovely. However, our visit was spoiled by the attitude of some staff and the wait time for some meals. Some staff were lovely and friendly. They all seemed completely rushed off their feet. It was a busy day. I imagine they did hundreds of covers that day. But staff didn’t seem able to keep up with the pace or demand. Some meals were missed off our initial order. Meals came out slowly. It was hard to attract the attention of staff. When we did we were told that that person couldn’t help us. When we requested some children’s meals and the children were slow to make their decision there was palpable distain from the member of waiting staff. However, some staff were lovely. Meals were delicious when they actually came. But I’d be reluctant (at those prices) to eat there again. You need more staff on busy days.
Be the first to ReplyLighterman is a must Visit!
Super friendly, quick service and good food. I highly recommend a stop here! My first time in London and just had to have Fish and Chips. Being Sunday night I thought I was out of luck but Lighterman came through!
Be the first to ReplyNice restaurant in a nice location
Met up with some friends at this restaurant. I ordered the Wagyu burger, pulled short rib, truffle aioli, swiss cheese, fries which was nice. A glass of house white wine was £8.50 which is a bit more on the pricey side however I guess you are paying for the location.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location, dreadful service
This pub is smack in the heart of Coalsdrop Yard, so a great location to watch the world go by. But… The service is poor at best. We stood by the ‘wait here to be seated’ sign for 10 mins, whilst staff stood around and ignored us, and with at least 10 empty tables. When we then politely forced the issue to sit at a table, we were eventually served, but our order was incorrect - the ice we requested 3 times, over 20 mins, eventually arrived via a different member of staff. Our food, after 30 mins, still hasn’t arrived. It took 15 mins to get a 3rd round of drinks from a rather surly member of staff. And no, they were not busy enough to justify this lack of service - it was early afternoon on a Friday, and only the terrace areas were reasonably busy. The £14 service charge, which we never normally begrudge on bills, was lucky to be left on &’paid, as it wasn’t well earnt.
Be the first to ReplyNice Sunday Lunch
Nice restaurant behind Kings Cross. Lovely Sunday lunch with decent portions, good sides and nice thick gravy. Had a fantastic bottle of Malbec to compliment. A bit pricey, but you only live once. Will come back.
Be the first to ReplyFood fine, service terrible.
I booked a table here as part of a weekend away for my husbands 40th. On arrival it took 25 minutes before anyone asked for a drinks order (and that was only as I asked). A further 15 mins for the drinks to come. Took our food order and we ordered a flat bread ‘as a starter’. Said flatbread came out AFTER our mains. Service terrible, we left without even being asked if we wanted desserts. Disappointing for what should have been a special night. And then they have the audacity to charger 12.5% for service! We will not be back.
Be the first to ReplyGo Greg! Veggie options amazing! Sunday roast! What a view!
Amazing! The roast is exceptional! We went on a Sunday, such an amazing atmosphere and location, the view and environment is beautiful. Greg looked after us and was really nice and knowledgable. The vegetarian roast wasn’t just the best veggie roast I’ve had in 20 years it was one of the best meals, so brilliant to see a proper well prepared and cooked veggie option, amazing flavours and great wine. Thank you for a lovely night!
Be the first to ReplyLovely foid and great value
Recommend the lovely flatbreads with toppings. Salads really fresh and good beers. Price very resonable. love it.
Be the first to ReplyNice lunch, busy atmosphere
Nice venue for lunch. Very busy environment and the acoustics aren’t great; it seemed very noisy but in actuality it didn’t impede on our conversation at all. The staff were attentive and friendly which added to the occasion. The food we ordered was tasty; a small menu though which has resulted in the 4/5 stars.
Be the first to ReplyThe will charge you for cancelation £100 avoid booking.
The charged a £100 cancelation fee for a booking. As far as I can tell they are run by people trying to trip you off. Do avoid.
Be the first to ReplyNot in a rush to go back
Visited last night for dinner. There isn’t a lot of choice on the menu which is fine as I tend to prefer places that perfect a smaller menu rather than serving loads of mediocre options. However they didn’t have two of the things on the menu that my partner wanted. Food wasn’t anything special and definitely won’t be in a rush to go back with so many other nicer places to eat close by
Be the first to ReplyDon't be in a hurry
Lovely sunny terrace so stopped for a drink. Not too busy but it took 15 minutes to get a waitress to take our order. You can't go up to the bar to get a drink. Finally it arrived with 12 5% service charge added.. we declined to pay that! Having wisely kept the receipt we were asked a second time to pay. Disorganised. Discontented staff. Shame.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect lunchtime dining before travelling from King’s Cross.
Such a perfect spot in the city for relaxing and dining before travelling from the nearby station. Menu is varied and the food is delicious. Great wine selection too. Service is swift, efficient and friendly. We sat on the balcony watching the world go by. Great summer place.
Be the first to ReplyPre-Dinner Drinks
We just popped in for a drink before dinner. Service was pleasant, there was a good atmosphere but it felt overpriced for a couple of non-alcoholic drinks.
Be the first to ReplyGreat atmosphere, serving staff and food!
Tasty bistro options, good wine and lovely atmosphere made for a wonderful birthday family outing and our waiter, Varun, provided attentive, intelligent and very efficient service. Great value and location - will definitely go back!
Be the first to ReplyGreat find for lunch
We didn’t have a reservation and the restaurant was very busy but the hostess was very friendly and keenly told us to try downstairs where it was first come first served. Thrilled we were able to secure a table because the food did not disappoint. We had a really tasty lunch and the staff were lovely. Will definitely be returning - I spied a couple of cocktails on their drinks menu that I want to try!
Be the first to ReplyRushed out of our seats
We had a 2 hour table booking. After just over an hour and before we had ordered desert we kept being informed that we need to leave soon as our table is booked for the next sitting. We ordered desert and on two more occasions we were told to hurry up and leave. Food was fantastic, service was brilliant but being told constantly that we have to leave made for an unpleasant experience. Even when we pointed out we had a two hour slot we were greeted with a shrug of the shoulders. Customer service needs a lot of work!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service, great atmosphere
Stopped here for a meal before catching the train. The restaurant was really busy but they found us a table, and brought some drinks really quickly. The staff were also very good about taking our order quickly and the food arrived in 20 mins and was delicious. It was really busy and the staff were awesome, which was a relief because we had a train to catch - they were really ‘on it’ and nice friendly people. Very tasty food, nice drinks, very happy
Be the first to ReplyFood arrived uncooked - staff not very interested. No apology
My lamb arrived and it was uncooked. I am not talking pink - I mean no part of the meat was cooked it was raw. Difficult to get the staff's attention and when I finally did they took the meal away. Friends had finished their meal by the time my replacement arrived. No apology from anyone. Staff were only bothered to get us to pay the bill to clear the table. It was my first time and not thinking of returning as neither the food nor staff behaviour made me think this is a good place to eat!

Visit the place and honestly food & service is mediocre. I’m not a chef but let be honest, 0 presentation, tasteless and is showing no care !!!
Be the first to ReplyService a bit clunky. Slow
Service a bit clunky. Slow food (45 mins). Sunny deck lovely. Overall just a bit unfriendly and unwelcoming. Could be so much better!
