We stayed here for convenient access to MGH during a scheduled surgical procedure. The day I was supposed to check out I had a medical emergency resulting in a lot of blood lost and a trip to the ER. The hotel staff rallied, gave me some new clothes bc my own were ruined and cut off by the emts. Effortlessly extended my room stay to allow more recovery time before leaving town. This made a bad situation much easier to deal with. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Great place to stay.

Such a fun stay! We came in on a Saturday afternoon and we're greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco during our checkin great start to the evening. Our room was great, very comfortable and great shower pressure. The only issue was the valet area is very congested so you need to plan accordingly. We just left the car at the hotel and used Uber to get around. When we returned from dinner there was a DJ in the hotel lobby and people dancing. We dropped off our bags and coats in our room and danced until 2:00am. It was so much fun. Looking forward to returning again soon.
Be the first to ReplyThe atmosphere is awesome! The valet is a disaster.
The servers at clink should be serving time! I'm currently staying here and wouldn't recommend staying here. A quick stop for a crappy cocktail possibly barn doors for the rooms bathroom which give zero privacy. Oh and I have a great view of mass eye and ear. Lol

The only downside to this hotel is the temperature - it is drafty and cold. They really need to fix it. It was unbearably cold in the hallways, rooms, and meeting rooms. That is the only reason I can't see myself staying here again which is a shame.
Be the first to ReplyThe location was great, it was historic and clean.
Our brunch at Clink was excellent. They provided a bathrobe in the room and champagne when we checked in but neither of those interest me. I guess I'm not a luxury hotel kind of person. I like the places that give you a couple of bottles of water instead of champagne. I wish they didn't fill the mini bar with stuff I don't want to buy so we couldn't chill our own drinks. I also wish we could have tried curling without paying $170. Once was enough for us.

I have to say that I have stayed at Liberty many times and frankly, whilst I enjoy the public spaces and restaurants and bars very much, I probably will not return due to the shabbiness of the state of the rooms in this hotel. This is not the first disappointment. In the beginning when everything was new things were great. But the hotel NEEDS TO SPEND SOME MONEY ON REFURBISHMENT OF THE ROOMS URGENTLY!The first room I was in two days ago - 501- The temperature was reading 99F when I entered. I turned it down to 65 and left for three hours. When I returned, one vent was blowing cold air and the other was blowing hot air. The temperature was reading 97. So naturally I moved rooms. However, the second room was very very shabby too - the bathroom sink doesnt drain proeprly, the shower head cannot be tightened so you can aim it where you want - it just sits limply and aims down towards the bathtub. The fridge cubboard doesnt close properly and the drapes are hanging off of one hook. Also the sheer inner drapes are shabby and look as though they have been through a war.In short: Everything was once ncie but is now tired and jaded. Such a pity no one has noticed or cares!I sincerely hope there are plans afoot to spend some money refurbishing the rooms because I will unfortunately not be back until then. When I spend several hundred a night for a 4-5 star hotel I expect everything to work properly and look appealing. Not like a 3 star airport hotel room.

The hotel and entire staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating. We're in town for a funeral and they made the stay seamless for our entire family, many rooms, dogs and special requests.

My train was late so I showed up at The Liberty very late on a very rainy night. The receptionist told me that she was very sorry, but they gave my reserved room away. So why the 5 stars? It's what they did after that. She said that they will give me a free night's stay at their sister hotel a few miles away and they will give me a voucher for a future free night stay at the Liberty. She then handed me a $20 bill for the cab ride. But that's not where it ended. I called a few months later to use my free room voucher when we were in town looking at colleges for my daughter. The agent said that I couldn't use my voucher on a weekend so I explained our situation and asked if she could make an exception. She disappeared for a bit and came back saying that she could. I then asked if we could get a cot in the room. She said that a cot wouldn't fit in the standard-size room, but she said that she would give me an upgrade. When we arrived in the beautiful lobby of The Liberty we were given free champagne while checking in. After settling into our spacious room they sent a bottle of wine and warm chocolate cookies to our room. Keep in mind that at this point I have spent $0 at this hotel! The next time I traveled to Boston on business I stayed again at the Liberty. While checking out, I asked to speak with the manager. A concerned woman came out and I told her my story and that although my office is on the other side of town, I made a point to stay at the Liberty because of how well I was treated. Since then I've told dozens of people to stay there as well.
Be the first to ReplyGorgeous establishment but I'm utterly unimpressed.
Clearly an oversold event where paying patrons weren't serviced. My husband purchased tickets for New Year's Eve which got us through the door only. One bar open. Access to one of three levels. Worst money spent. Goes elsewhere.

Location Bar Service Cleanliness Giving you a room that already has people fucking like animals in it Yup, you read that right. Gave me room 1310. Opened the door and, praise Crom, it has the lock activated, but I heard a dude giving his wife (could have been a prostitute - I didn't ask for paperwork) the big four inches of thunder. The guy was just as surprised as I was. He yelled out a meek 'Uh, this room's taken'. Poor bastard. Probably had to start over. So, let me start at the beginning. I had to come to Boston so my wife could testify against her former boss and Mafia Kingpin, Don 'Derivative Nickname' Spaghettio. So, the fine people at the FBI flew us in under our assumed names, Tony and NotaKerry Smith. NotaKerry went to the headquarters to tell them about the time Don used jarred sauce on his ziti and I came here to check in. I was early and our room was not ready yet. They were super nice and offered to hold our bags. I bellied up to the bar and had the special cocktail, a Lobstahtini with fried clams stuffed olives served in a Nomar Garciaparra shaped glass. The bartender, Chelsea, was super nice. She said her parents named her after the city of Chelsea, which I think was cruel. I once got mugged by a rat dressed as a KKK member in Chelsea. But this Chelsea was really nice. I grabbed a Chopped Salad side of oregano. I had a real nice conversation with a guy named Richard. His wife was next door at Mass General kicking Cancer's ass. He was nice. His wife's sister was friends with Ron Wood. He told me a story about some travel he did and how he's killed in the past. To be honest, that last part may not have happened. I was drinking. And he really didn't seem like the prostitute murdering type. But, does anybody ever? So far the visit was very nice and not at all voyeuristic. After waiting for three hours I went back up to the main desk and asked again for my room. They gave me the key to 1310. This is where the fun began. So, after I opened the door to Mr Stiffman giving his lady friend a Highlander II: The Dickening, I felt really bad. It's not that I haven't watched strangers have sex before, it's just that usually I have a receipt. I went down stairs and told my tale of woe. In response, they asked if I was sure. Like I didn't know what uncomfortable afternoon sex was? I mean, I'm a dentist for Crom's sake. Anyway, clean rooms. Great view, free sex show, and a great night in the basement bar. I would definitely drink here again. Next time, I'm bringing 1's and really enjoying the show. Liberty Hotel: Boston 3/5. Minus 2 Stars because they gave me a fucking room with people in it.
