Exceptional waitstaff , absolutely outstanding food.
We were unsure if we'd made a good choice upon arrival due to the strange entry situation and dated decor. (Under construction, apparently.) The restaurant itself is in a historic, gorgeous room. We began with crab tart and mushroom soup then on to Sea Bream and Iberia Pork. Fab. U Lous!!! Kudos to the Chef for the complex, innovative, and beautifully executed food.We will be back, for sure.

i have been here a few times and each time my guests are fairly impressed with the service and the food. the ambiance was good and my guests and i had a good time. though sometimes we had a problem with finding additional add-ons to the bill that service staff thought would go unnoticed or were simply errors?

Three of us dined at The Grill enjoying both the atmosphere and the presentation of the food. It was a lovely experience and we felt privileged to have a relaxed setting in which to share stories and get reacquainted.

This is a beautiful restaurant with exceptional service and a very beautiful interior.I had a gorgeous iceberg lettuce and avocado salad for my entree and some butterflied prawns for my main. I shared some gorgeous wagyu beef with my friend after she decided she had to have some steak after seeing their impressive meat display and carvery skills.Although this is a very upscale restaurant the service is not pretentious at all and very friendly, helpful and down to earth. The food is amazing, I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

Be the first to ReplyCame here for breakfast on Sunday.
Told I could order alacarte or buffet style here but only alacarte at the promenade next to the grill. Sit and order tea. Waiter says can't order alacarte and is annoyed I asked it looks like. I get two eggs cooked the wrong way and was not offered toast etc nor was checked on during my meal, despite waiter checking on others. The room was appealing and tea was good otherwise very dissatisfied. Also even accounting for the location it was overpriced compared to 4 seasons or intercontinental and other highly rated hotels in the area.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location situated inside the Dorchester Hotel.
Really swanky place with lots of history in London. Overall service was great - no one had a stiff upper British lip. There were lots of staff for our table of 6 people. Our wine and waters were refilled frequently. They were very attentive and professional. The food was amazing. Definitely recommend the tasting menu. The braised short rip was super soft almost melted in your mouth. Desserts were OK - I choose the mango/pear/passion fruit sorbets as there wasn't really anything inspriing on the dessert menu. Other than that I would have given the place 5 stars. I'll definitely be coming here again though - was a lovely experience.

..especially with the £39 3 course dinner w/Champagne on arrival. The ambiance was lovely. Interior was classy chic and cozy. Didn't feel pretentious. The staff was friendly and attentive as well. The braised short rib was delic- I recommend this for your main. The sorbets for dessert was excellent as well, in particular mango/passion fruit and the pear.

This is an iconic venue, and retains its character despite the very thorough refurbishment completed a year ago: gone are the yellow walls and strong tartan motifs, and in its place are acres of marble, polished copper and zinc panels, creamy leather and a huge murano glass chandelier. Even if it is not as distinctive (and the décor always was something of an acquired taste) it is still a comforting and classy interior. A clever feature is the wall panelling which can rotate to give a different daytime and night-time ambience. As one might expect, the food and service are very good indeed. I went with some friends to celebrate a wedding and had an evening set menu, which includes a glass of champagne. My vegetarian menu offered two choices for each course, and (after an amuse bouche of grated salad) I chose ricotta and herb ravioli in sage jus, followed by a cookpot of roasted seasonal vegetables and fruit; and for dessert, caramelized Pineapple, with exotic fruits and coconut sorbet. The cookpot was simple but tasty (I wish I could get my veg to taste that good) but the ravioli was the star - just sensational. The pineapple came with a very tart pineapple sauce, which made for a fascinating experience, but for pure indulgence, my neighbour's dessert - the "Contemporary Lemon Tart" (think very posh lemon meringue pudding) was wonderful. Service was very attentive though not quite flawless - though the few errors were quickly and quietly sorted out.A two course lunch is £29 and three courses £39, plus drinks and service charge. A la carte my three courses would have come to £48. Meat and fish dishes are (as you might expect) more expensive.

I had the whole place to myself for lunch last Tuesday and it was amazing. I had the three course which started with bread, delicious butter and an amuse buche of salmon spread and crackers. The appetizer was blanched asparagus covered in a rich hollandaise sauce, just light and fatty and perfect all at the same time. The entree was a beef ravioli of sorts. My favorite part was the presentation and the veggies on top. The beef itself was nondescript and a little tough. For dessert, I had the chocolate three ways, Alain Ducasse signature dish. It came with silver on top and ended the meal on a high note. The service was impeccable of course and the ambiance royal. As a tourist this was the perfect meal to end my European trip.

As you would expect from The Dorchester, the decor of The Grill was elegant and classy, plenty of height with traditional colours and patterns to represent the booming years of the Great British Empire.I went for the duck and foie gras terrine with preserved medlars for my starter, the terrine was nicely blended, the foie gras was creamy and smooth while the duck added a meaty texture which held the terrine together, however the medlars was a little lost in the dish, the fruity and floral notes were a little too weak to contrast off the robustness from the terrine.Overall it was a very solid dinner apart from the dessert, service was of a very high standard which is as you would expect from a five star hotel, warm, friendly with a great level of knowledge. But what really impressed me the most was the cocktails provided from the team at The Dorchester Bar....
