San Diego's Best Restaurants that are most frequently booked by customers of The Fishery San Diego
🤮 1/5 - Increased prices, smaller portions, mediocre quality and now a surcharge

I have been a customer of The Fishery for years and will not be going back. We had dinner there last night and were pretty shocked by the increase in prices, decrease in portions, quality and the surcharge. Everyone felt sympathetic with restaurants and workers during the pandemic. Restaurants expanded into publicly owned square footage and received pandemic money from the government. We continued to support our favorite restaurants by using them for take out. We understand that everyone is affected by inflation and the cost to do business has increased. But when a restaurant increases it prices by 1.5x, reduces the size of their portions by 1/2 and now is charging a surcharge, it is hard for us to support. I ordered the Bouillabaisse which had been my go-to meal there. They raised the price to $48 and when it arrived it looked like an appetizer or children's size portion. The quality I would say is good perhaps I would give it a "B" but this is certainly not one of the top restaurants in San Diego such as George's at the Cove. George's also charges a surcharge but we are really unhappy with the surcharge at The Fishery. This not only affects the customers but the serving staff because patrons take the extra surcharge into consideration when leaving the gratuity.
