Absolutely amazing food and ambience !!! Went here on a trip to England and wanted somewhere special for my anniversary dinner ! It did not disappoint, from the food to the atmosphere to the service. The drink menu was amazing as well. The service was also 5 star.

The restaurant is decent, don't get me wrong, but it's just absolutely pretentious and the wait staff is downright hostile and rude. The food is good, though spotty. At more than $100 a person excluding any alcohol it shouldn't be so spotty. Beef was over salted. But my main problem with the place is just that it's overly pretentious and rude. Honestly, don't take my word for it. Just read the warnings on their website. Their cancellation policy alone sets the tone and gives you a glimpse of what their service is like. It's glacially slow and the service hostile. Stay away.

For the third year we dined here. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Its tucked away in a very small town in Gloucestershire in the Cotswolds. Rolling hills filled with sheep and country roads--very story book old England. Like Mother Goose. Everyone enjoyed their meals--as always. This time around I ordered English roast beef with Yorkshire pudding; side dishes, mostly root vegetables were family style. Beef cooked excellently. Not overcooked like most other pubs and English restaurants that I've dined in. The yorkshire pudding was filled with a very small dollop of puree roast beef and the beef gravy was rich and tasty. Service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. No seat is a bad seat. Can't wait till next year.

I have eaten at legitimately excellent restaurants all across The world. This place has to be one of my top dining experiences. Not to mention that we found it be accident by asking a local woman on the side of a small street in a small town. The view with our dinner was spectacular. Rolling hills, sunset. The service was great and they catered to our needs. The food was fresh, delicious. Flavors exquisite. I have to say every dish our table tried each person loved! That's three different opinions and all good! Please come here. I couldn't help but think it has not been discovered by outsiders and the locals like it that way. So keep it our little secret because it felt like we had the whole view and place to ourselves! Definitely worthy of any award, star, rating, in any foodie magazine it will get.
Be the first to ReplyWell worth a visit.
Had lunch here yesterday, would happily go back. It's well hidden. It won pub of the year 2011/12. Main's start at around £14.
