Superb.
Absolutely gorgeous. We came here for our 5 year anniversary and had such a lovely, relaxed evening. The food was sensational (we had the tasting menu), wine was delicious and the setting and service were super classy. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious food and a wonderful wine selection! The service is also fantastic and the setting beautifully looked after
Be the first to ReplyDeserves its Michelin star
A small niggle with service aside (only with the speed, certainly not with the courtesy), this was a wonderful evening fully deserving of its Michelin star. Wonderful & romantic ambience, tables set with a goodly space between each one, far more relaxed than such places sometimes are. Every dish a joy (do NOT skip dessert) -- unshowy, but with perfectly balanced flavours. And though it may seem strange to call ยฃ300 for two good value (in the bill's favour, we did start with excellent cocktails, went on to a nice bottle of Burgundy and finished with a dessert wine and Calvados), for what we experienced, it was. We shall return.

We had a lovely 9 course tasting experience. The restaurant is not too crowded, and the staff are extremely friendly. We were warmly greeted on arrival. The food was beautifully presented and served at a good pace. We did not try the paired wines but saw a couple doing it and they were getting lots of information on the wines and why they were paired with each course. We chose to have a nice Riesling wine which worked with a few of the courses but to be honest we enjoyed it so much it didnโt matter that it wasnโt a perfect pairing with the other courses. Reasonably priced and worth going again.

We came here for my birthday and had the most wonderful meal. We had the tasting menu and wine pairings and it was absolutely incredible. The egg yolk, cream, maple syrup and vinegar shot was the highlight for us. Such a lovely and special evening.

My son and I tried to go there for one drink to break up hour journey, my 14 year old son headed straight for the toilet and the front of house refused him permission to use the toilet, I explained we are on a long journey and wanted to use the toilet and would then get a drink and food, again we were refused entry. Go to The Rose of York the staff are much friendlier.
Be the first to ReplyUndoubtedly good but expensive
Food was to a very good standard but service a little slow when not too busy. 9 I suspect this was a kitchen as front of house was attentive and informative. It turned out to be rather expensive progressing from ยฃ65 per head for a standard three course lunch to ยฃ108 per head when wine, side dishes etc added in. I thought the scallops were delicious but only two per plate which was rather less than generous.Food was very good but `I didnโt think โwow Michelin standard food.โSo all in all very good standard but not exceptional and a tad expensive.. looks like back to the Ivy Guildford.

We brought my mum here for a birthday celebration. Itโs the most beautiful room with sun pouring in through open windows, just across the road from Richmond Park. Every course was a work of art - so beautiful and absolutely delicious. Lovely team of people looking after us. Highly recommend.

We held a lunch party in the private room of this magnificent restaurant on a sunny Saturday and could not be better pleased with the outcome. Barny supported us with courtesy and great patience during the planning phase and his team in the kitchen produced the most delicious meal on the day, professionally served by Barny himself and his friendly and attentive staff. Our long table was beautifully laid and embellished with delightful posies of freshly-picked flowers. Pre-lunch drinks could be enjoyed on the sunny balcony while admiring views into Richmond Park and the atmosphere in the light-filled dining room could not have been bettered. Our guests praised each and every dish - personal favourites were the Ox tail Risotto and the Shh'annu lamb (served perfectly pink, of course). It was a memorable occasion indeed and our thanks - and those of our guests - go to all at The Dysart.
Be the first to ReplyThe best restaurant in Richmond!
We were back at the Dysart last week for our 10th wedding anniversary, 10 years after holding a much bigger wedding party here. This time, a small group of friends, but we had a marvellous evening, with wonderful food and wines, served by an excellent team, all carefully supervised by Barny, with his meticulous attention to detail. This is why we love going there!

My partner took me here for my birthday, just before Christmas and it was wonderful. I lovely tasting menu, with excellent service and a lovely setting. Itโs definitely somewhere for a special occasion, but the food was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyThird visit to The Dysart in six months!
The first lunch was amazing! On my second visit I wasn't so impressed but put this down to the fact that perhaps I chose the wrong food. But this last visit was very disappointing. The menu was more or less identical to that of 2nd December, I would have expected more of a change in nearly two months! The dishes, when they arrived, were much plainer - the lovely way the waiter describes each plate was missing as there wasn't so much detail - and there weren't the individual items to savour. I chose duck as a main dish and it really wasn't exceptional. On the previous two occasions there was an 'amuse bouche' between courses which didn't happen this time. Overall not such a good experience.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful , light elegant dining space with welcoming staff
Delicious food and attentive , friendly staff. Despite the inconvenience to themselves, the staff were considerate and courteous enough to wear masks. We visited with my elderly father who appreciated the spacious, quiet dining rooms, and the absence of steps.
Be the first to ReplyAn outstanding restaurant where sadly I was made to feel horribly uncomfortable.
A superb restaurant if only it stopped treating guests like Covid biohazards more than a year after pandemic restrictions have been fully lifted in the UK. If this restaurant were in Beijing I could understand it, but all staff in uniform black masks with only their eyes peeping out makes for one hellishly anxiety provoking meal. The cooking is utterly exquisite and the service impeccable. I find it incredibly sad that such a truly outstanding restaurant (by far the best in the area) can choose to inflict such stress on its diners.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent lunch
Excellent experience. We chose the 3 course lunch menu which came with various between course extras. The food was excellent with innovative combinations of flavours and textures. There is a good choice of wines from around the world, which are available by the glass. The staff were delightful and the service excellent in surroundings which produce a delightful ambience.

Fantastic food, ambiance and overall quality. Itโs a beautiful place with friendly service but done in an ultra refined way that is really impressive. Not a cheap date but for a special occasion itโs a belter
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Tasting Menu
We visited as a couple 7th October and it was a fabulous experience. The vegetarian tasting menu was innovative and every element was delicious. We had 1 wine and 1 non alcohol pairing and both were excellent. The non alcoholic pairing was so well thought out and each a surprise. The service was exemplary and we will definitely return.

A well deserved Michelin star for the Dysart. Original Clever dishes with some really quirky appetisers between coursers like the one shot palette cleanser of Devonshire cream egg yolk maple syrup and a sherry balsamic with a little chives and seaweed on the top. Utterly madly delicious different textures and viscosityโs. Or the chilled beetroot soup. My main course was the king of fish Turbot. Perfectly cooked and presented with cepts a very autumnal vibe to it which seemed so right. Great and extensive wine list with some great by the glass choices. Front of house service was perfect relaxed knowledgable and with an elegant flourish to everything they did for us. Love this place will be back. Youโll love it.

Had tasting menu plus non-alcoholic drink pairing for lunch. One of the best meal I had on this trip to England. Very innovative and tasty dishes. Can easily tell that a lot of thoughts and efforts go into each dish and even each drink paired with the respective dish. Very friendly staff and warm ambience. Staff all wear face masks , boosting the food hygiene ! Restaurant is well located for a good meal before or after a walk in the open meadows or scenic riverside path behind the restaurant. I would return for another meal here in my next visit to London!

Once again another wonderful experience at The Dysart. The service, ambience and food are second to none. For exceptional standards and a personal approach nowhere else compares.

Beautiful building and lovely dinning room on arrival, attentive staff and pleasant amuse Bouche .
Starter was the signature bream and my wife had the ox cheek risotto.
The risotto was mediocre and would barely fill an egg cup, very very small .
The bream was delicate and tasty.
The mains Pasta and the cod .
Cod was quite bland and not very attractive visually.
The pasta was warm and small in portion size , and nothing to excite your tastebuds.
The deserts were by far the highlight of the evening and Iโm not a big dessert fan .
Iโm not expecting a large plate of food and have experience many fine dinning restaurants afield, but to leave the restaurant with mind blowing flavours and the only complaint is your still a little hungry is great !
But to leave the restaurant without the mind blowing flavours and still very hungry is probably where I write a review.
Not as good as my last visit
I had really enjoyed my previous visit to The Dysart and was looking forward to dinner. I thought the Tasting menu, which was the only option, at ยฃ95 was a bit steep but this has been a difficult couple of years for restaurants so was happy to give it a go. All started really well with a shot glass full of lovely stuff but sadly the rest of the menu did not live up to its promise - except for the bread which was excellent. The fish courses were ok but too many ingredients, sometimes fighting with each other didn't allow the fish to shine. The lamb course was under seasoned and something left a strange aftertaste, (poppy seeds?). The deserts were fresh and well presented. The service was very good, friendly and efficient, but the sooner we can ditch the masks the easier it will be for everyone. Something of a disappointment food wise so sadly not anxious to return.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Iโve eaten here several times and everything has been excellent, but on this occasion, the tasting menu just didnโt match my previous experiences. Everything was a little peculiar, dishes were under-seasoned and, in some courses, very oddly flavoured. A strangely metallic taste permeated certain dishes. Food was well-cooked, particularly the bream, but lamb was tough, stringy, chewy and very under-seasoned. I couldnโt identify why under seasoned food could produce a very strange after taste. Desserts were beautifully presented, but rather tasteless, which indicated that something in previous courses had interfered with my taste buds. The rest of the party felt very much the same.
Service was charming, but courses were slow to arrive which indicated that something might have been going on in the kitchen! We had a lovely evening, but unfortunately the food wasnโt great.
A must visit
This is amazing!!! The food is incredible, the staff amazing and the location just perfect.
My husband and I have visited on a few occasions and have already booked a follow up visit in January. The Dysart food and service is far above a number of higher Michelin stared restaurants in London and we cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.
Barney is a wonderful manager and there is nothing we can fault about this incredible restaurant.
We are very much looking forward to our return visit!
Terrific, terrific, terrific- what a treat
What an amazing venue in Petersham. An old structure lovingly restored, with food to match.
Elegant, understated, attentive service, superb presentation, superb food. Superb, delicate food from start to finish.
LOVED IT!
