My boyfriend and I did the drink making class for his birthday and we loved it! We got a welcome drink when we sat down and made two drinks during the class as well. The person who ran the class was amazing and kept the energy going! Loved the little magical elements hidden throughout the class. And the decor was great! Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyWas here for the Valentines Potion Experience.
What was presented was different than what was booked. Originally was supposed to receive a Valentines Day shot as stated at time of booking. Later when confirming the class the shot was replaced with a heart shaped balloon a tarot card and a recipe card. We didn't receive any of that. The potions we made were meh. Not really drinkable. The guy running the class was great and had a lot of enthusiasm. I don't remember his name. The magic wand they give you was only used to pour the welcome drink so not sure why it's needed. Save your money.

I pre-booked this place online a month in advance for a nice valentines date for me and my girl to have a great night with 2 pre ordered drinks. One of the pre ordered drinks never came out, the service was horrendous on a slow night. The server we had never checked on me and my girl, just threw one drink at us. The next drink we ordered took 45 minutes to prepare. Both drinks were way to strong and barely was able to taste any flavor in them. The management has no idea how to accommodate for all their guest or run a bar service. Very very disappointed with the performance and service they provided all around. Would never recommend going here. Sad because the atmosphere was great. Will never attend this place again.

Super fun and unique experience in nyc where you can be a wizard! I booked this experience in advance for me and my bf and communications with them was easy. They were very responsive! I paid around $70 ish and we were seated promptly. You each get a wand and you can choose which drink menu you want to make for the class. The potion master hands out the supplies you would need to make your drinks and during the beginning you get to choose a welcome drink too! Welcome drink was honestly my favorite! And then you follow instructions yourself on the drink card and at times it did get a little confusing and one of the drinks was too sour for me. At the end they also gave us a shot with some dry ice which was cool. Overall fun experience with friends or a fun date night!

Such a fun place! We had Vanilla as our server both times we've gone and they have truly gave us such a great experience. Highly recommend going!

After a little hocus pocus upstairs we grew hungry and decided to grab a bite downstairs at the bar (since we also received a discount for visiting upstairs festivities) downstairs bar vibes were nice . Everyone was attentive, food was okay from what I can remember, drinks weren't the best but weren't the worst . Everything was average . However they did have a tree at the bar pouring drinks as well (cute add) I would say if u are visiting the cauldron drink making class, eating by the bar wouldn't hurt

Our potion master was amazing, I think their name was Vanillian. Highly recommend. And I'm not even a Harry Potter fan!

Let me start by saying no you do not need to be a HP fan to like this place. It is just overall a great place to get that magical feeling. The staff seem so happy which is always a plus. The drinks were not only affordable but very tasty. The food was yummy and if you do stay for the potion making course I promise you will not be disappointed. New York is where you go for unique experiences, so a spooky cool bar/ restaurant where you can make potions only makes sense to be #1 on your list.

The ambiance and setting of the location was AMAZING!!! Nature and magical vibes all over! The drinks were also delicious and themed. The shots and drinks! A couple of reasons I only gave 2 stars: -The service was not good. We ordered a round of shots to start off but then had to get up from the table to get the server 30 minutes after. -We made a reservation through their website and upon arrival they said we had a $100 credit. When closing out after asking for the check (after waiting 10 minutes) they didn't apply the credit and we had to get the manager. It's unfortunate because the place looks so amazing but if the employees don't want to be there they should find a different job.
Be the first to ReplyWe came for the potion class.
Two of us. I wanted one drink my daughter wanted another. The woman starts talking about half portions and a box. Made no sense at the time. We each get one drink to make.... I tell her what I want and what my daughter wants and she only brings out the drink my daughter wants--for both of us. They bring it in crates and basically if there's two of you you are forced to get the same drink. I didn't get a choice on the matter. My daughter chose the raspberry one--I hate raspberries. If I came by myself I assume I would get choice. We paid for two passes we should have each gotten what we wanted. My daughter didn't like the drink after she made it, so neither of us got to even enjoy it. The lady never came and asked us how we liked our drinks or anything but she made sure to tell us how much we should tip. Part of the fun of going with someone else is tasting each other's drinks or plates. This was not a great experience.
Be the first to ReplyCame here with a group for magic tea experience.
They only allow 1.5 hours, which is absolutely ridiculous considering the price. You have to kind of rash through the experience because they cannot wait to kick you out fast enough. It's suppose to be "magic experience" not just order, eat and leave. Experience is kind of fun, and tea selection was good. However I don't think food and pastry was very good. We had to ask them to heat up the scones. You have to pay extra for vegan sandwiches. So basically salmon is cheaper than cucumber. Makes no sense. Sandwiches were ok, nothing special. I definitely don't think food was good or worth the price. They also don't offer coffee, honestly, should be offered to get a cup at least. Service was acceptable, nothing amazing. Again, an ok experience. 1.5 hours limit is crazy.
Be the first to ReplyThe atmosphere and the ambiance were top tier.
Between the great service, the interactive and fun drinks, and the bar food on the first floor. It is a night that can't be beat, even for non potter fans.

I came here with my mom and sister during my visit to New York, and was disappointed. The experience itself wasn't too bad, but we were missing some of the supplies that we needed. Experience aside, my sister has an anaphylactic allergy to citrus (lemon, lime, orange, etc.) and we informed the staff about it and asked them to make sure there wasnt any citrus. Our server, Calypso, was nice but didn't do the best job at making sure there was no citrus. When we got our desserts, we thought we didn't have to worry about citrus since Calypso said there wasn't any, but when my sister bit into a chocolate, she found orange inside. She had to take 3 epi pens and luckily she caught it before having a reaction but the ignorance of the employees could have killed my sister.
Be the first to ReplyIt was fun using a magical wand and wearing a black cape.
Blending teas and mixing potions to change the color of the tea. The tea sandwiches and desserts were delicious. The Wizard Afternoon Tea was the bomb! My 13 year old granddaughter had a great time!

As a fan of Harry Potter (Not JKR), my friends and I decided to visit The Cauldron NYC to see if the hype is worth it. We had a great time with very involved staff members. We could tell they liked working there which was nice! The decorations downstairs and upstairs were very pretty! You can choose from a few potions/cocktails to make. You also receive a welcome potion/cocktail. We had a lot of fun during the activities & were there for about 2 hours. Food was decent but you're really going for the ambiance / activity / experience. LGBTQIA+ friendly as well!

I made my booking for Wizard afternoon tea four days in advance. Unfortunately they called me the day before to cancel my booking. I was around for a short amount of time, so rescheduling wasn't an option. They have fully reimburse me. This review is more of a warning of the cancelation possibility even with the paid booking.
Be the first to ReplySuper fun spot.
Easy to walk into on a Friday night. Nice area in Financial District on Stone Street with all the bars. Cocktails are tasty, unique, and sweet. Bartenders were attentive and speedy. Ambience was great

Did not have high expectations going into our visit, based on reviews, so in that way this met our expectations. Agree with the reviews that say this is a good activity for those who are really, really interested in the theme. We experienced all the things negative reviews mention. The only thing we didn't expect was how dirty and sticky all the items were (there are many bottles and tools used, all of them were sticky--they hadn't been cleaned, just refilled between use), and the gnats, unfortunately. Our server didn't do too much, you just are handed the box of items with instructions and make it up yourselves as you go. They had minimal knowledge of what was what, in case you have any restrictions or questions--this will be difficult. When you need the next set of things, it's really difficult to get service. We suggest asking for what you need a few steps before you need it. Otherwise you end up rushed at the end because you were waiting so long. If you read reviews, you should have a clear picture of what to expect, to decide if all the things mentioned are worth it to you for the theme.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a great experience.
The food was great and the service exceptional. The server did not measure efforts to make sure my dad had a fun birthday lunch! We won't forget!

This was advertised as a Harry Potter tea making it seem like the entire tea would be around Harry Potter. It was not at all!!! The only thing Harry Potter was they gave you a wand. I do not recommend this for kids. Very disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyThis was SO much fun.
Menu was on a QR code. We got to sit down and put on witch hats and order food and the Potions for our table (which you can separate for alcoholic and not). You get a 'welcome drink' 3-4 choices for alcoholic and 1 drink for nonalcoholic. You pick your drink and have the materials and instructions delivered. You build your drink and cast your spells and make 2 great drinks! All were hits including the drinks ordered ahead of time. Food was fine. A special thank you to Myron for a great experience!
Be the first to ReplyDo not waste your money.
The experience and the drinks are awful. Go to your nearest liquor store and make drinks at home with your lights off. You make the drinks with their ingredients and they are not tasty at all.

We came for the potion class! It was a fun themed experience and did not skimp on the alcohol. The package starts with a welcome drink brewed with magic wand, and then your party chooses two cocktails to make together and share. The first was gin based, bubbling like crazy, and much too sour (I read another review that said to use less lemon juice, and I did, but it was still almost too sour to drink!). Our potions master brought us shots of (magically bubbling) simple syrup to save the day.Our second cocktail was a warm rum-based drink, heated and brewed with orange peel and thyme. It was pleasantly herbal and perfect sweetness. The only downside was that the drink was supposed to come with one vial of rum and one of elderflower liquor (per person), but there was rum in both vials so the drink was extremely strong and we missed out on the elderflower flavor which would have been a nice add.Service was great, food was very meh (eat somewhere else beforehand), and the push to prepurchase additional drinks was totally unnecessary. You'll get plenty of alcohol with no add ons. Our neighbors had prepaid for champagne and bubbling shots and both were left on the table minus one sip! They also included a complimentary birthday dessert when we mentioned it was our birthdays! Gratuity on the price of the ticket and any additional food was added to check.
Be the first to ReplyI'm always going to remember this place as one of the first
I'm always going to remember this place as one of the first places I went to during my first visit to New York City. I didn't know what to expect and I've been on A lot of different tour guided things, and a lot of classes so when I came here I was really happy with the way Myron took care of us. Myron made all of us feel so involved and it really got someone who's kind of an introvert out of their shell. I swear I'm going to add "yes wizards?!" To my vocabulary now lol!!! I loved it so much We chose the drink potion making class and we ordered the spiced warm rum, and we also ordered the pink fizzy drink (I forgot what it was called forgive me, I've only been a wizard for two days)It was a perfect date night experience and I'm never gonna forget itRestrooms are clean and the service is great and so nice and I really like how they involved everybody
