The food was absolutely horrible! Have been at the Cache
The food was absolutely horrible! Have been at the Cache four times; twice was good, twice was no good. This time we (6 adults) spent, with tip, $825. That is a lot of money and warrants a delicious meal. It wasn't. The steaks were so salty, they could barely be swallowed. Salt is great for flavoring & tenderizing, but this was like the salt was the main meal, with a little steak thrown in. The ambiance is very nice, the service was great. Food -- no good! There are several much better restaurants in Fort Collins. Less expensive too
Be the first to ReplyWe absolutely love Ginger and Baker.
Here for all the things they have to offer. We dine in The Cache on the 2nd floor for the amazing food, beverage program and outstanding wine selections. My husband hosts business lunches in the Cafe and his guests always leave with a cinnamon roll for sure! I buy so many gifts from the market & whole pies all the time for my family & friend events. It's a one stop shop with private spaces to rent, gift cards to give and an amazing community gathering spot. Thank you to Ginger for creating a space we all can be proud of in Fort Collins.

This place is fantastic! I have to say it was the best chicken pot pie I've ever tasted last night (after my first bite I said we must come back tomorrow, so here we are) and I ordered the avocado Burata toast, hey Burrata 'bout it. Five star A+. We look forward to coming back again soon!

Be the first to ReplyI wish I could give a better review, my first time at this
I wish I could give a better review, my first time at this establishment. My boyfriend took me to this bakery and restaurant on a Saturday morning. Hoping to just grab a coffee and go, but as we were looking over the menu at the register the clerk/bartender convinced us to sit down. Per her instruction we went back to the hostess stand by the front doors and asked to be sat at a table in the same room. Initially we order our drinks and looked over the menu's, I was going back and forth over the caprese avocado toast or Boston cream French toast but decided on the caprese with an additional side of scrambled eggs. My boyfriend ordered the fried chicken biscuit. The food came out separate, him getting his fried chicken biscuit several minutes before my toast but the food runner assured us that my plate would be out soon. This wasn't an issue for me. When my plate arrived, I could visibly see that the avocado spread had spoiled, it was a darkish grey color and looked like it had sat out overnight. But I decided to test it anyways because sometimes avocado looks this way and is still edible. I was disappointed, the avocado not only tasted spoiled but it seemed as though they tried to mask the taste with loads of lemon juice. It just wasn't good and having only taken one bite I decided to send it back. Something I dont like to do. I told our waitress when she came back over to check on us. She made a concerned face to one of her coworkers but then came back with a comped certificate that said our next visit we would be able to get a slice of pie on them. Unfortunately when the bill came I realized that the pie wasn't a comp as she had still included my 17 dollar avocado toast on the bill. I tired to ask why it wasn't still on the bill and our waitress became very rude, responding that that was what the free slice of pie was for. I didn't want to say any more but was very upset as the pie prices are far less than my meal was and I realized she was being greedy and difficult. The value of the comped pie was less than the value of my inedible meal, my boyfriend was also disappointed but more modest than I was decided to just pay for the experience and we left. I won't be coming back as this whole transaction left such a bad taste in my mouth. Outside of the poor food and service, the ambience was nice and I was really excited to come and try this place, but unfortunately the way we were treated was just unacceptable.

We dined at the Cache restaurant in March and it was one of the best restaurant experiences we've had in Fort Collins in the past few years. The scallops were delicious- cooked perfectly. Worth their price! If you are into whiskey, talk to Christian about their vast collection and unique bottles.
Be the first to Replyservice was good .
..well on the first floor, nice people. i got the hamburger done medium rare and well it was soooo chewy and all red soo i didn't finish it and probably should've asked for a new one but i felt like that was too much to ask soo i didn't. it was average pricing not great for a burger that was as chewy as laffy taffy.
Be the first to ReplyI was in FoCo again this weekend.
Before leaving this morning to head back home, I stopped by Ginger and Baker to have breakfast. The last time I ate here was dinner time. It was around 11:30 am and as one can imagine, they were busy. I like how they gave two bar areas for single or couples seating. I chose to sit at their main bar area. The young man who waited on me was friendly and provided good service. Today I chose the pancakes with bacon. I doubled down on bacon and had a total of five pieces. Bacon was made to perfection. Not overdone and not too soft. They offer thick cut bacon which is my preference. They offer three fluffy pancakes that are also made to perfection. They serve it with authentic maple syrup and not the cheap candied up version. I recommend ordering an extra maple syrup. The pancakes absorb one serving of it. Overall, meal was fantastic and filling. I really didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. So glad I stopped here for breakfast. I almost decided to have breakfast at my hotel. This will become a regular favorite spot of mine. Love this place! Check them out for breakfast sometime!

We've been here dozens of times over the years and it's my favorite place to bring out of town guests. They are always impressed by the ambience, the cafe, and the cooking classes. It's a beautiful building and the patio(s) are wonderful in the summer. The bar staff have always been very good, and my picky hubby and I like to enjoy a cocktail and apps at the bar before dinner. The food and service in Cache is always great but it can be hit or miss downstairs, which is why I knocked off a star. I've had many fantastic experiences here so I tend to overlook the few times it was lackluster. I've also had the pleasure of talking with Ginger a couple of times and she's very warm and friendly. This place really is a gem in Northern Colorado.
Be the first to ReplyWe really enjoyed Ginger and Baker! The menu reads well.
I had the chicken pot pie. It comes with a salad and it was SO good! My daughter had the chicken tenders and fruit cup. The chicken tenders weren't just out-of-the box frozen. They were freshly made. I can't say enough good things about the service! Our waitress was SO good and patient with my girls. She interacted with them too. The restaurant had a nice vibe and was very inviting.

What's up with the wierd "banana cream pie"? My friend and I had lunch; always good. Then we decided to try a different pie. The banana cream pie arrived. Not a banana slice to be seen with white chocolate curls on the top. The filling was a strange color; almost greenish, and it tasted really odd. Not like bananas; we couldn't place the flavor, other than it was not good. We sent it back. In case the baker needs help, here are a couple of recipe suggestions: https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/homemade-banana-cream-pie https://smittenkitchen.com/2022/03/banana-cream-pie https://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/banana-cream-pie You're Welcome Ginger and Baker

Super cute coffee shop with a cooking class held in the back! The hot chocolate and my blueberry pie were both in the rich side so if you're looking to satisfy a sweet tooth, look no further.

Went to the cafe for the first time in a while and ordered the pork schnitzel. It was hands down the worst one I have had. Paper thin, more breading than pork, breading had no flavor and neither did the gravy. I do not recommend this dish at this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyBreakfast in the cafe? Love it.
The potatoes are my favorite- so flavorful. Dinner at the cache? Lovely. Stuffed sweet potato is cooked to perfection and paired with toppings that compliment each other so well. But my favorite thing about this place is the pie in the coffee shop. The lemon meringue pie is dreamy. I have never tried a different pie here because I cannot walk by that fresh smooth tasting lemon meringue pie and not get that one.
Be the first to ReplyOk so for food.
It was a 6/10 for me. I had the 8oz bison filet which was good but not very tinder. The creamed spinach was good but came out cold. The bacon wrapped dates were very good. Getting 2 stars because of service. Our waiter was ok but we had to waive him down multiple times just to get drink refills.THE WORST PART. We had a reservation for a dinner to celebrate a birthday at 7:45. We drove in from out of town and chose this place because the birthday boy wanted the prime rib which they informed us they were out of AFTER we had ordered. Then... we didn't get our food until 9:30. Almost two hours after our reservation it took to get our food. By that time we just wanted to leave. I just can't recommend this place. All we got was a "thanks for your patience".
Be the first to ReplyDon't bother.
..ordered their beef stroganoff and got a $20 bowl of dried out noodles, zero sauce, and 9 little chunks if stew meat passed off as filet. Meat was cut in a size that you would give to a 2 ye old. They were out of all baked goods which are their specialty and the manager was less than sympathetic when the dried out bowl of food was sent back. It's so sad...this wad a great restaurant pre covid :(
Be the first to ReplyGinger and Baker is a gem of an establishment.
Wonderful ambience and a variety of levels to dine in. Their store is very cute and their coffee amazing. Ginger and Baker is part of what makes Fort Collins the special town it is. Privately owned restaurant and store that puts any chain establishment to shame. You haven't tried Fort Collins until you try Ginger and Baker.
