Be the first to ReplyWent here St.
Patrick's day weekend and it was the best meal of the weekend. We had naked and traditional lobster rolls and they were amazing. Service was fantastic too
Be the first to ReplyI was expecting a bit more given the price.
Food was good but I enjoyed the lobster roll from Quincy market more for a better deal. Seems to be quite the popular spot though, it was fully packed past peak lunch hours!
Be the first to ReplyR and I were a bit underwhelmed.
We had lobster bisque, the Fisherman's Platter (assorted fried seafood), and Bloody Mary's for Sunday lunch. Would've preferred more non-fried options. Service was really good, which was somewhat of a surprise given some of the in-your-face rules / signs posted outside. Staff were attentive and very nice. The setting, menu, pricing, is a bit of a contradiction. One might expect average food at a crowded kitschy restaurant, but wouldn't expect to pay fine dining prices for it. You can get same quality for less elsewhere, or pay the same for higher quality just down the street.

I have been a couple times over the past year when in Boston. Attempted to visit twice in a 3 day period and arrived 10 or more minutes before posted closing time only to be told they had already stopped seating. Both times I combined my attempt with about a 20 minute walk from the convention center area.....in February! Needless to say there will not be another attempt!
Be the first to ReplyEVERYTIME in Boston! Amazing crab and shellfish.
Onion rings meh but 80 % of menu is great. Water taxi stop is right next to it so it's cool to take the water taxi from the airport and head straight for a delicious meal right away!

My servers are GREAT. Super friendly ans outgoing. Thank you. Ambiance quiet ny the water just right
Be the first to ReplyBarking Crab is an Institution in the Seaport.
Been here longer than I can remember. It's pretty much New England seaport fare. A bit pricy but given its location it's expected. Service can be inconsistent depending on how busy this place gets and it can get busy. This last time I went I was a bit disappointed in the steamers appetizer. They gave us about 10 steamers for a $36 price tag. Steamers should be a bucket full especially for that price. All in all a decent New England dinner. A staple. A must go at least once kind of place.

Came for the food stayed for the hospitality! Read reviews before coming and decided on the chowder, bisque, and crab cakes. All were spot on but the bisque had enough lobster in it that it was plenty on its own.... Unpopular opinion but preferred it to chowder. Kelly and Alejandro took care of us- on a busy Wednesday night- Kelly was patient and respectful of our group of 6 even though short staffed and we were indecisive at best. Alejandro assured our service was fast and plates cleared. Inside was clean and well decorated for being located right on the water for a colder rainy night!
Be the first to ReplyThe service is great, but the food is terrible.
Despite the cool location, we will never come here again.

We absolutely loved this gem of a restaurant! First of all, the food was fantastic. We also had great service and had a great time in the "dive bar" atmosphere. We were a family of 3 with an 8 year old and we all enjoyed it. My son is already saying next time we are in town, he wants to come back here.

Save your money and go elsewhere! They were extremely skimpy on the Lobster and the cost was $10 over what you get at Quincy Market for a not so great lobster roll. Service was not that great either. Definitely skip this location!

The food is great. You'll have a great time if you're not stuck up. The music is BUMPIN. Might have to stay on service a little bit though. But who cares.

I had a very tasty meal with super friendly service - it definitely deserves a better start rating. It's cute, has a great location by Fan Pier Park, and the bartenders were great and chatted with me as I ate at the bar before heading to the airport at the end of a business trip. They knew I had a flight and got me my food promptly.I ordered the clam chowder which was tasty, and I absolutely loved the salad I got - I can't find it on the menu anymore so I think it was seasonable, but it had like pumpkin in it? It was SOOOO good. I'd definitely come back.

I live in Central Ohio. Understandably, it is not known for its seafood. I had the grilled salmon with an avocado corn salad and jasmine rice. It was delicious. This is where the freshness of seafood really comes through. They salmon was well cooked and the avocado corn salad was just the right kick alongside the salmon: the jasmine rice was well seasoned and fresh green beans blanched with butter and herbs finished the place. The ambiance was nice although crowded with lots of chatter. It reminded me of most authentic seafood spots sitting on the water in Seaport. Great meal!

Where do the disappointments begin? Incredibly loud music, plastic silverware, or the plastic cups? Not environmentally friendly I must say. Or what about the $40 platter piled high with friend fries? Just not overly impressed. It is a solid 3 with 2400 plus reviews, so my 2 Star will not have any impact at this point. I won't be back when in the area. Oh and avoid that bathrooms.

Don't get to Boston enough, but when I do, Barking Crab is on the list every time! It's in a fun location, is unassuming and delivers a great experience no matter what you choose. This time was an oyster run, no other agenda and they were excellent! I sat at the bar, had a couple drinks and enjoyed the oceans best.I'm sure there are other great oyster places, just love this one.
Be the first to ReplyThe decor was the best thing about our recent dining
The decor was the best thing about our recent dining experience there. Lobster baskets with fairy lights look really cool. However, the food arriving in plastic with all plastic utensils and plastic cups brought the whole dining experience down. But it didn't affect the price at all. They commanded real plate and silver prices. If you really must go there for some reason, go ahead, but our luke warm fish & chips and the whole plastic experience wasn't worth the high cost and the food wasn't memorable at all..
Be the first to ReplyAfter reading a couple different reviews, a 2 star review
After reading a couple different reviews, a 2 star review is more than suitable. The server ruined this restaurant experience by harassing our party until she could get a tip she was happy with. We didn't tip 20% because they weren't worth it. Plastic utensils and cups for a $45 entree, terrible service and the food was borderline cooked by a novice. Shrimp and lobster semi rubbery while the asparagus was undercooked. You can 100% find a much better seafood restaurant experience anywhere else but here.
Be the first to ReplySuch a cool place to go to.
When the deck is open it's such a cool experience getting to sit out there. I got the tacos and they were really good- as well as the onion rings. One of my friends got the lobster roll and said it was one of the best she's had- so next time I would get that. Go early so you don't have to wait because the line can certainly get long. I'm not sure if they take reservations or not but it's definitely worth the wait.
