Tesse Restaurant West Hollywood Reviews from The Last Year
Visiting my son in Los Angeles and went here for a Father's
Visiting my son in Los Angeles and went here for a Father's Day Brunch. Restaurant was busy but not so busy as excuse our meal. To begin: our server was nonchalant and completely unenthusiastic. Now, I'm a former server and don't expect everyone to be an extrovert, but there is a minimum threshold and this guy did not even come near to it. Ordered two entree's and a basket of breakfast pastries. Well my son's "well done" pancakes came out almost immediately. Contrary to their appearance, he said they tasted fine and was happy. I sat there for the next 20 minutes and the breakfast pastries never came to table until after my meal. Additionally, my "skirt steak" and eggs was not skirt steak but a very raw piece of what looked to be ribeye. I would have liked to be asked about this substitution beforehand. But, the real kicker was that the steak was barely rare and basically raw. I would have liked to discuss with the aforementioned server but I never saw him again after he dropped the food. The potatoes were good and the late breakfast pastries were fine. Over all, nice ambience and looks to be a nice place. Maybe I just had a dud server, who knows. However, a day later I received an automated thank you text from the owner, Jordan. The text said thank you for choosing his restaurant and to text him back if we needed another reservation, etc, so I did and a week later, no response. Pro tip Jordan: if you are going to use social media automation, use it.
Oh my gosh, we finally found an incredible French
Oh my gosh, we finally found an incredible French restaurant in Los Angeles. The food is absolutely stunning and of course the wine was incredible. It's very pricey, but definitely worth it. We cannot recommend this place enough!!!
What an amazing experience! We came for the all you can
What an amazing experience! We came for the all you can eat Tesse and loved almost everything! The hamachi and steak tartare were delicious 4.5/5. The branzino was extraordinary 4.75/5. The mushrooms were good but less of a favorite 4/5. The cauliflower was sooooo delicious 5/5. The short ribs were good 4/5. The almond souffle was wonderful 4.75/5. Alicia, our waitress was very nice. I really liked the lady who kept dropping off our food. She was warm, friendly, and truly excited about our excitement over the dishes! lol. I really want to keep this a secret, as it was an amazing deal and experience. But I guess I'll be generous and share. Hope they have a table for me every Sunday. Or at least every other Sunday, as I intend to be a regular. Oh....and if I had one gripe, why can't we taste the wine before we order it? First restaurant EVER that wouldn't allow customers to do so. And I mean all around including places I've been to all around the world. But otherwise, AAAAAAAMAZING!
We had the blessing to be part of a private event at Tesse.
The service was AMAZING. All first class. The food - all I can say is WOW. Heidi the "Agave Queen" was the best bartender of all time. She educated us on the stories behind the mezcals etc...she takes great pride at being perfect at her art. Her commitment to ensuring a great experience is bar none. Thank you

As a long-haul vegetarian, there is no earthly reason for me to dine at Tesse. Unless ... I wanted an out of this world experience, taste-wise. Tesse elevates flavor into the stratosphere. Every single item I sampled, from the burrata, to an onion tart, to the thinnest, crispiest pizza I have ever had was superb. Smallish portions, pricey in an appropriate way, with very attentive service (thank you Bobby and the manager, who fell all over my dinner companions who are frequent flyers at Tesse), and the best kept secret of all: parking in the building for $10. You heard right. Check out the pictures. It is a sleek, multi-windowed, high ceiling aery. The seats are beyond comfortable with a full leather bolster behind you on the banquette that truly makes a difference (I usually avoid pillows, not these, they were perfect). The drinks all have clever names. I opted for the Total Smoke Show, and let me kvell about not only the performance it gave but the delicious take on a mezcal drink. (If you follow me, I have fallen in love with mezcal). We were in a rush to another place so I had to miss what promised to be Paris in Hollywood: meringue with cassis (that's called vacherin in King Louis' country and rarissime in L.A.). So, we plan to stop in at Tesse when we dine down Sunset in two weeks. I simply have to sample desserts in a place that gets meat-free fare so right. Run, don't walk, to Tesse. You may be as surprised as I was.

Delicious food and great service - lamb and filet entrees
Delicious food and great service - lamb and filet entrees were perfectly prepared and served - scallops were nice for app but skip the cauliflower (s heap of over seasoned blah)
Brilliant, Excellent Wine, Food and Service
What a brilliant place! We had dinner, drinks and brunch here during our trip and loved it each time. With an amazing wine selection and a fantastic initiative to share the love of wine through a discounted 'Holy Sh!t' list this is an excellent place to visit on the Sunset Strip. If you like good wine, or just want to learn more - this is the place for you! The staff were great, and our waitress for dinner in particular was wonderful, kind and knowledgable, I wish I had got her name to praise her. I should also say the food was delicious and the venue great. We can't wait to visit again next time we're in LA. Thank you for making our trip even better!
Great Food - caviar appetiser is outstanding
We ate here on our first day in West Hollywood. Friendly staff, a good menu and interesting happy hour selection. The caviar appetiser is sensational. Worth going just for that.
My bad for not visiting often enough.
.. Tesse has pizza!! A la Tesse style of course. It's so good that I consumed half of it before taking the photo. Paired it with a St. Estephe Bordeaux, life is great. Nuff said. Tesse has pizza YAY!!!!(not underplaying the wine or the service which is always magnifique)

The food and ambiance are great! We were upsold a lot which I noticed- with the charcuterie board, you have to buy bread to go with it! That's a little absurd. The worst part was when we were almost done with our entrees I felt the whole restaurant rushing us. Bussers trying to pick up plates before we were done and then the server quickly asked about desserts then dropped the check. We were enjoying our time catching up with friends and the end of the night ruined it for me because literally the servers were hovering, she checked the checkbook to "alert" us she was waiting or off her shift. When you're spending average $125 a person, DONT RUSH THEN OUT OF THE RESTAURANT WHEN YOU ARE EMPTY. And then the tip percentages are 20, 22, 25 with a West Hollywood health service charge. A bit ridiculous. Won't go back.
Excellent French cuisine w/ a vibe.
I mean it's not even exclusively French. The Buratta & the Tagliatelle pasta were fabulous, & those are from the neighbors to the south of France! Cheers to the bartender there, he took care of my party.

We came to Tesse for a business dinner last night and had a fantastic experience. Food was exceptional and staff very attentive. We ordered a number of veggie and seafood appetizers, all excellent but hamachi crudo, blue lobster and cauliflower were simply the best. Ambiance was great, good lighting and upscale decor. Highly recommend.
Service was a tad slow.
. but food was decent. Drinks were good. And the DJ was playing some great music. Would come again.

Such a great experience at Tesse! I went here for my friends birthday & we had 12 people in our party. They isolated our table in the wine cellar area, so it was nice to be secluded. Gabriel was our server and he was super attentive and kept on checking on us to see if we were good! The food was yummy also! But there were some things I definitely wouldn't get again haha. Truffle pasta: 10/10. I love truffle and in the pasta it was so creamy and blended in so well. Beignets: 10/10. Super flavorful inside and melts in your mouth Shrimp ceviche 8/10: came with little round black chips on the side. Flavorful also Lobster sausage: 5/10. I'm kinda iffy about this lol the sausage breaks apart when you dig inside and maybe I just like regular sausages better Bucatini: 3/10: super salty lol no one in our party finished it. Hamachi crudo: 2/10. It had a weird fishy stench to it and wasn't very tasty ^^ we had a handful of other things too but I just forgot the names :') There is valet parking & they also validate in the structure next door. Not sure how much off you get with validation because I parked from 8-12am and it was $14 after the validation. Overall cute ambience with friends or for a date!
What a great restaurant just steps away from the famous
What a great restaurant just steps away from the famous Comedy store on Sunset blvd. This restaurant has an all you can Tesse, food option, on Sundays which is - play on, all you can eat, which is what our party of three ended up doing. Cost is $59 per person plus a 20% gratuity on top. We started with a few startesOnion rings, Harmachi Crudo, Shrimp Ceviche, grilled scallops, pita hummus, little gem salad. Literally all were excellent. I have not a bad thing to say about any of those dishess For our main course, we had the Bucatini pasta, pork chop, short rib, and fries with duck fat. Again, not a bad thing to say. Everything fired on all cylinders and we were all in awe of each dish. Two petiole in our party did what they call a port shot, which is something you can do if you order the bone marrow pasta dish. It's a port wine that's poured down the bone of the bone marrow from your pasta dish. A must try for the experience. All in all, this was a great restaurant and great start to a fun Sunday night out. Highly recommend and we can't wait to come back.
Best Brunch
Tesse is fine dinning at its best. Make a reservation. It gets crowded. They have brunch, and dinner. Brunch is on Sunday and that is what this review is about. Tesse has valet parking for a fee. The place itself is just beautiful, inside and out. It is spotless and so well cared for. They have a full bar and they have a bar area where you can eat if you want. We like the tables. Their brunch is not cheap, you get what you pay for and all of it is worth it. I think it is about 60$ a person and well worth it. You must make a reservation 24 hours in advance for brunch. We had their Country Loaf bread and they also have that for dinner. It is so good. Ask for extra butter. We then had grilled scallops, this is a small plate, and shrimp ceviche, which is also a small plate. Their lobster sausage is amazing. Moving on, we had the Tesse burger which comes with duck fried fries. Just the best. we also had the Roasted Mary's chicken that comes with little potatoes and kale and a bit of mushroom poulette. we ended the gorge with flourless chocolate cake and 3 scoops of ice cream. We were stuffed. Now, you can't reorder something you have already ordered so keep that in mind. This is not a buffet. A server will take care of you and they add on a 20% tip. The server is so great. You will just love this place.

Go-to spot with friends
No one does it like Tesse. The food is delicious and they are very accommodating with people who have a gluten intolerance
The ambiance and service was great.
The happy hour made the value worth it, otherwise the calamari was so tiny and nothing amazing. The cocktail was very weak. The cauliflower and lattes were the best items I had here. I wouldn't go back but it was cool to check out once.
Husband & I enjoyed dining here for dinner.
We ordered the little gem salad, hamachi crudo, & bone marrow bucatini. All 3 were delicious! Service was great & ambiance was nice. We definitely want to come back to try their other food items on the menu & check out the wine cellar.
Sooo delicious! Gorgeous ambiance and atmosphere - elegant
Sooo delicious! Gorgeous ambiance and atmosphere - elegant and beautiful. Food was excellent. Such high quality dishes that are unique and delicious. Service was wonderful. Overall just a lovely experience and would definitely recommend!
Very chill place that has live dj on the weekends.
We got small bites to share and sat at the bar. I recommend making a reservation if having a full on diner. All staff very friendly, bartender was excellent providing recommendations on both drinks and food. It wasn't their busiest night which I don't mind. I like at the owner Jordan came over to say hello and to check on us. We will definitely be back, this was the perfect dinner spot before girls night out.
This place is a waste of your time and money! It's over
This place is a waste of your time and money! It's over priced, food is substandard, and the seating is terrible! In the West Hollywood area there are much better places to spend your money and feel like a valued customer! Avoid this restaurant! Dinner for two was $400 plus and I felt ripped off.
Wine heaven
Great restaurant with a very helpful and friendly staff. The food is amazing, and the wine list worth a visit on its own.

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
