Nice local spot for Tahi, parking tight but worth it
Stopped in here while in the area for lunch and the place may be small in size but it was pretty good. Fast service and a nice interior, friendly waitstaff and a menu of both sushi and Thai food of all types and a nice cocktail menu. The food was delicious and hit the spot and was fresh and tasty. Plus the prices were not bad at all. Parking is tight around here and its all on street, however if you can find a spot, stop in here.

Thai was a little diluted, calamari was good!, pad thai taste great, drunken noodle is fair, berry crab rangoon was effinโ good!, mango sticky rice is fair and crispy chicken basil is not that amazing for me. Our server was nice and proactive. Table spacing is wide. Bathroom is clean and smells good. I think people like it here as there are alot of takeout orders waiting. No parking space, so you got to roam around if the street parking is full. Accepts credit/debit. High chair available.

Ordered Thai appetizers, not sushi. Tom Kai Gai soup good, as we're vegetarian spring rolls and satay. Very attentive service. Enjoyable experience.
Be the first to ReplyNo masks on--found two long hairs in food
Sweet Rice was never a place to write home about, but it was convenient since there are not many Thai restaurants near us. On their best day, their Thai food is a B- or a C+. I cannot speak to their sushi. Today, 10/16/20, I ordered two dishes. When I went in to pick our order up, I was greeted by two people not wearing masks. They had them around their neck but were chatting to each other without them on. This made me suspect of the kitchen, but I tried to put it out of my mind. We took the food home and, as I was eating, I sensed a long hair in my chicken curry. I gave the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe it belonged to me EXCEPT that is, my hair was pulled back in a ponytail, and the strand of hair was embedded in the food not just sitting on top of it. I tried to ignore it until Hair Strand #2 showed up further into the dish. That did it. I felt sick to my stomach. I immediately called Sweet Rice and was asked the color and length of the hair--who studies this???--and was offered a refund or a credit for a future visit. There will be no future visits and a refund does not nearly make up for this disgusting experience. Sweet Rice, you need to clean up your act. I do NOT recommend this restaurant. They are not taking COVID precautions seriously nor are they taking cleanliness and hygiene seriously.

Found this little restaurant by way of recommendation from the hotel we were staying in and was very pleased with the food and service. Big portions for a good price.
Be the first to ReplyNicest Staff... and food is OK as well
If you are looking for Thai AND Japanese/Sushi check out this wonderful CHARLESTOWN spot. Located across from Whole Foods parking plaza therefore parking is not a problem. Takeout food a bit overpriced considering the quantity of food. Tasty, numerous selections! Best bet is to eat in!!!

I was impressed at this out-of-the-way restaurant in the heart of Charlestown. I've given up on finding "authentic" Thai in the Boston area but this comes the closest in terms of ingredients, appearance, and flavor. Thai Beef salad was appropriately hot and sour, and probably the best dish ordered in our group - definitely recommend! I ordered Pad CU noodles with beef, and asked for no sugar and spicyness level of 2 (out of 5) but it was still a little sweet and not at all hot. I then asked for the little hot chiles in fish sauce that restaurants in Thailand serve with dishes which Sweet Rice didn't have, but they chopped some fresh chiles which was appreciated. There is also a nice collection of vegetarian dishes on the menu, which one of our party liked. Kids ordered sushi, which was pretty good considering it's a Thai restaurant. The "deluxe" platter costs $20 and is a lot of fresh sushi, impressively presented.

A wonderful spot for Thai food away from the tourist areas of Boston. Great service and fantastic food. Fast and efficient. Would highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGreat sushi & not overpriced
My husband & I ate here during a recent weekend trip to Boston. We have a "thing" about having sushi everywhere that we travel. We thought it is very good. Portions were excellent and not overpriced for being in the Boston area. The service was fantastic. We had edemamme, sushimi appetizer, Sushi bomb roll (but not tempura, we prefer totally uncooked/raw rolls), and for dessert we had Sweet sticky rice with mango (which is "to die for" good), my husband had a beer & I had a glass of wine. We would definitely recommend and definitely dine here again.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Thai Food
My friends took me here to try Thai food for the first time and raved about how great it was. I really enjoyed it and they had a variety of offerings. I recommend chicken pad thai, lemongrass chicken, red curry (if you like spicy) and pad c u with beef! It's a quaint atmosphere with quick service.
Be the first to ReplyNice Tahi and Japanese Restaurant
A very extensive menu, probably works against the timeliness of receiving your dinner, but it was well worth the wait. Service was very good but a bit slow, allow extra time if you are hungry. The sushi rolls were more generous than any you have had before. (bigger diameter) and there were fresh and great. We had the California rolls the chicken dish with peanut sauce. All delicious and reasonably priced.
