Decided to have a lunch date here not knowing what the outcome would be. Food: 5/10 I ordered the tempura bento box 14$ Godzilla roll $20 and dragon roll $20. The food was mediocre based on all the rolls being rolled like a bimbap and everything falling apart once I pick it up with a chopstick making it hard to eat in one setting. Also, The miso soup that came with the tempura was cold. Service : 2/10 The server I had was horrible and not attentive. He served my bento box, miso soup and sushi without plates and silverware. He walk away fairly quickly hence it wasn't busy at all! He had asked if I wanted ginger and wasabi and I replied yes but after 10 minutes of watching him chatting with his friends and waiting for my plates he finally came around with my items after asking him once again for my items. We waited pretty long to get service even for our tab. Worst experience dining in a sushi restaurant. I would not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyThis is still my go-to spot for over 20 years.
In comparison to other Japanese restaurants, you get more for your money especially when it comes to their rolls, for other spots serve waaaaay smaller portions. And let's keep it real: if I go to a Mexican restaurant and don't see any Mexican's eating at the restaurant, it's a hard pass. At Osaka's, it's nice to see Asian's patronizing the establishment. That in itself tells you something.

Months ago my husband and I came here for lunch and were dissatisfied with both the food and service. However, in the last month, we have been back twice to give our old favorite another chance. We are certainly glad that we did! The food was outstanding, just like it used to be! The chicken is all white meat, tender and fresh. The salad is crisp and the sides are equally tasty. Portions are substantial, too. Our waiter came by to refill our drinks and to check on us many times, which was appreciated. I highly recommend. Osaka Sushi as I had in the past. I am glad they have made welcome improvements and returned to high standards. We will be regulars once more!

Avocado Roll and Sweet Potato Rolls are my favorite along with fried Gyoza !!

Osaka sushi used to be a family favorite of ours prior to the pandemic. I feel the quality of their food and especially the level of the service has deteriorated significantly. They may be shortstaffed and the consumer pays for that. Here are two examples my wife called in an order a few weeks ago and the young lady who was taking the order was very short and dismissive. When my wife got off the phone, she said I was just about to tell her to forget it. And they have the audacity to expect a tip when picking up a to go order. I personally went in the other day for another phone order and no one was upfront to greet me and I sat down. Still, no one came up to acknowledge me. When I made this comment to another customer who walked in, apparently either the manager or somebody who worked there overheard the conversation and had someone help me. This was not the greatest of experience. Fortunately, there are other options in the Elk Grove area. Osaka has just moved down the list, I hope you can improve on your customer service because that has been my greatest gripe with many restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyMy best friend has raved about this place for months.
He had been coming for yearsssss. Located in the same center as the United Artist theater is Osaka Sushi. Inside is very nice and has a best ambiance. I love the fish tanks too. We went on a Thursday and got there as soon as it opened. They had a deal going which was buy three get one free. We each chose 4 different ones to try a good selection. The rolls came out quickly and they are very large. Not in pieces but in actual size, almost needed to cut them in half. Our waiter was very patient and very kind. The rolls were pretty good and very filling. The potstickers were deep fried and nice and crunchy with a good sauce. Not bad overall.
Be the first to ReplyIt's been awhile since I've eaten at Osaka Sushi.
Menu is a little different but the food is still good. My hubby had the bento tempura and I had the bento chicken karaage. Miso soup was flavorful but kind of light on the tofu and did not have any seaweed. I cannot remember if it has any green onions. My hubby liked his lunch but was disappointed that they only served one shrimp. I loved the karaage. It was so crispy and crunchy but not greasy. The sauce was great too. I missed the pickled radish but I know it's pricey. Overall, I would recommend lunch and the karaage. Yum!
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is always great with service, Japanese
This restaurant is always great with service, Japanese cuisine and it's casual atmosphere. The sashimi cuts were fresh and high grade fish, sushi was seasoned perfectly and my Tempura was perfectly crunchy. I didn't leave anything on my bento box! We were a party of 9 and were spoiled with great service. Parking is really easy and free. I hope to return soon.
Be the first to ReplyBest Japanese food in Elk Grove California.
We love this place excellent bento boxes and sushi rolls. We have tried several other Japanese food restaurants in our local area and no one can compete. Great food and service-highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyHere's a Japanese restaurant in name only.
If you know Japanese food especially if you've grown up eating Japanese food you'll be disappointed with the flavors here. This isn't to say the flavors are bad. They are just not going to be what you remember from grandma's house. Teriyaki sauce is so simple to make yet they use something that is gel-like and nothing like real Teri sauce. Their dashi lacks flavor as does their sukiyaki. The flavor that is in the sukiyaki soup is a salty beef base with no hint of any mirin or sugar. On the bright side, our waitress, Whitney, was polite, helpful and a joy to talk with.
Be the first to ReplyI love coming here for the best Bento Box Combinations in
I love coming here for the best Bento Box Combinations in Sacramento. I continue to order the same thing whenever I am in the area because I just can't get enough. The Sesame Chicken and Teriyaki beef is unbeatable. I just came here for dinner on a random Thursday night and the place was slow. Lots of take out orders but very little people dine in. Wonderful service as usual. The teriyaki beef has that charbroiled grilled taste that I don't get anywhere else and the quality of the beef is outstanding. As I have mentioned before, the sesame chicken batter is perfection. Nice big pieces of white meat with a light, crunchy batter. Although prices has gone up since my last post and I can't leave any restaurant without spending at least $50 for two but it doesn't stop me from coming here. Still worth every penny.

We came here for a work lunch, and they were able to accommodate us and get us seated fairly quickly. The service was great the food was fast and everything was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyI really liked the experience when we went here.
Fresh sushi and excellent service. I would recommend for anyone.
Be the first to ReplyGreat tasting Japanese food.
Reasonably priced in today's inflationary times. They give you lots of food for the money.

My food said it was delivered but was never received and I have to wait to receive up to 10 days to see if I get a refund for my order that wasn't received. Don't order using yelp & grub hub. They steal your food & don't deliver it

Only rolls you should order;Y2KLagunaGary.Each roll comes with a scoop of spicy tuna! Although flavors were good. The lack of vinegar in the sushi rice was a bummer for me! Other than that, everything was good fresh fish and spicy mayo right away of spice. It filled the craving! And it did not disappoint
Be the first to ReplyMy friend and I went here because we were trying out Ice
My friend and I went here because we were trying out Ice Dream located in the same shopping center. We arrived 20 minutes before closing until dinner. Most times a restaurant won't want to serve customers so close to closing but not Osaka. We were treated just like a guest arriving at noon. Our server Chris was fantastic, recommending several rolls for us. Since it was close to closing time, we couldn't belabor over the extensive menu for long. Normally we would take half and hour just to decide what to eat.Chris was incredibly helpful. The tables and restaurant were very clean and elegant, the ambiance was great. We ordered the Nelson & Ogsaki rolls. First, these rolls are HUGE!!!!! So paying $20 for one sushi roll, don't worry, you're going to get your money's worth and more. We couldn't finish either roll, we were stuffed. We left rolls behind and that never happens when I eat sushi.Don't let the address fool you, Center Parkway has grown leaps & bounds, I'd say its just as nice as Laguna. I'm looking forward to going back here, the food, service and staff were fantastic.

Great service! Food was delicious and came out very fast in comparison to other places.
Be the first to ReplyFood was average , over priced, staff SUCKKED.
Had to ask for everything 3 times. If they updated their interior, trained their staff, added some music, I would probably come back. But until then, no thanks
Be the first to ReplyYummy for the cost and portion sizes.
Will definitely fill you up compared to competitors that have rolls that are half the size. Only con is that the rice ratio is noticeable, I wish they didn't use as much rice as they do. It becomes a bit sticky especially after you try to have leftovers, it's like digging out for scraps. Other than that, they're generous with toppings and I absolutely love their spicy salmon mix. It compliments the rolls and the creaminess stands out with each bite. If they had pickled fresh wasabi, that would've been a plus! Would order from here again if I needed a large quantity of sushi.

I've passed this restaurant about a hundred times to eat at the neighboring restaurants, but im so glad I was able to try it out! We were super hungry so we ordered quite a bit, but we also finished all out our food lol. They are a it short staffed, but they did a very good job of communicating apologies and making sure that we had everything that we needed. Everything we ate was sooo yummy and I cannot wait to go back again!

Yes to Y2k!!! Osaka Sushi makes my two favorite rolls of all time: the Osaka Maki and the Y2K rolls. We don't dine-in as much as we use to cause it's busy so we've been ordering it as take-out... Thank you Terry for outstanding service.
Be the first to ReplyService was understandable for the amount of staff they had.
But the food was mediocre and over priced, entry dish came out long before appetizer (which was not very good, had to put the sauce on myself, still very basic flavoring). Sushi roll ( Laguna roll) was decent. Other plate was teriyaki rib eye over rice. Meat was bland and dry, drenched in teriyaki to try and cover it. Very disappointing Would not return
Be the first to ReplyVery fresh Salmon sashimi.
Tempera shrimp tastes excellent . Nice seating and AC during the hot summer . The guy waiter is efficient but kind of rude . He threw the eating utensils at our table . It was not that crowded and he did not need to do that . Our orders came out shortly after they were placed . Kitchen and chefs are very efficient as well . I think it is important for the customers to feel that no one is rushing them to leave . ( no line and no one was waiting at that time 8 pm ) .
Be the first to ReplyThose who know .
. know this is my all time favorite sushi spot. Go to items and I still till this day have never switched up are the sesame chicken plate and a create your own roll (I get mine with soft shell crab , crab salad , sprouts , fried shrimp and cucumbers on the outside avocado on top. Yum yum .. they discontinued my fried banana and mochi so I'm pretty sad about that but everything else has never failed me.
