Love this spot. Small. Intimate. Delicious. I've been to Q, sasabune, sushi tsujita, and I think sushi takeda is right up there.

3.5 stars. When you sit down they ask you to turn off your cell phone! I thought that was pretty cool. I did the nigiri omakase and overall it's not bad. There wasn't a bad piece but there were enough pieces that I thought were just ok. I think the most interesting pieces were the smoked fish sushi. I've never had smoked fish sushi. They service is impeccable but overall, I honestly don't think I'd return. It's a lot for $200+/person and I honestly didn't feel it met that price tag.

Got to experience the Nigiri Omakase at the sushi bar for dinner Saturday night. This included 13 pieces, 5 small dishes, and dessert. The course at the bar was $20 more than the table which I think is totally worth. We got sat about 5 minutes before the reservation time, all the servers were sweet and made us feel welcomed Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars: -The chef was super sweet! I just wished he thoroughly explained each piece. My husband and I had to ask what was on top of the piece a few times. -The rice texture and amount was not consistent the whole time. -Wished we got the hokkaido uni as a nigiri instead of getting it over rice with roe. It would've been so much better by itself. There is a parking structure with an elevator that takes you up towards the restaurant. Make sure to get validation! I had to pay $15 for parking..

It was our first omakase experience and the food was pretty good. I did find hair in one of my courses and it did kind of ruin the experience. They did give me a replacement but never offered any discount or compensation. I would say good for the price but lacks good service and they ask you to pay first including tip. Parking also sucks. We had to find street parking
This was simply an amazing experience.
I'll start with the service. Everyone here was very friendly and helpful. If you asked a question everyone at sushi takeda had a detailed explanation which was very refreshing. The service was amazingly fast you knew at all times they were there because how great service was but you didn't feel like they were watching you. The food was simply exceptional I personally didn't try one thing I didn't like. everything was so fresh so you were able to taste the flavors of the fish.

I have become a regular here now and finally decided this little hidden gem should be noticed. It's on the third floor of a plaza. Everything is good, even the desserts. Better than most places in Little Tokyo if you can afford to spend on omakase. Definitely worth going, service is great also and the food comes out in a timely manner.

One of our favorite experiences! Really enjoyed all the omakase dishes especially the egg custard, uni bowl and otoro. PS I think the sushi bar experience is definitely worth it! We celebrated a birthday and they gave us complementary crème matcha brûlée and the chef even thanked us at the door for staying! Definitely reminds us of the service communicated on the bear
Came here for the signature omakase dinner.
The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of Weller Court that has a Kinokuniya and Marukai. Parking is underground and sparse so there may be some double parking valet needed . The dinner lasted about 2.5 hours. Service was good through out. 1. Tako Shabu Shabu: tender octopus in a bonito abalone broth. Comes with a plum and sake reduced dipping sauce 2. Skipjack and bonito sashimi: The two toppings both contrasted and complemented the fish very well. Tasty. 2. Iso tsubugai: palette cleanser of baby conch 3. Hotaru Ika Takenoko Chawanmushi: bamboo shoot and firefly octopus. The octopus was good and had a lot of flavor. The egg was creamy and smooth. 4. Awabi risotto: abalone with its own liver sauce. The rice is slightly sweet and not really a risotto. Still tastes good 5. Iwashi maki: sardine with vinegar, shiso and ginger. Complex flavors. I can eat a whole roll of this. Better than the ootoro 6. Ankou tempura: monkfish tempura with liver 7. Oyster nibitashi: poached pacific oyster in clear both. Tastes nice and clean as an appetizer 8. Akadashi miso soup: broth made with shrimp 9. Egg castella: very good. Rich, sweet and dense but soft. 10. Tofu pudding in Okinawa black sugar: the sugar had a different flavor than regular black sugar. Tasty :) Sushi 1. Akami: dry aged tuna. A little bit salty but very good 2. Needlefish: Ginger and green onion under the fish. Nice flavor 3. Saba: Japanese mackerel cured with salt and vinegar. The fish balances well with the shiso. 4. Spear Squid with sea urchin: like the creamy uni on top 5. Kinmedai: golden eye snapper fish was good but I didn't like the sauce at much 6. Ootoro: soft smooth fatty tuna. Can't go wrong 7. Kanpachi: amberjack taste and texture were very good 8. Surf clam: huge piece of clam. Very fresh 9. Amaebi: sweet shrimp with shrimp caviar on top. Never seen green caviar before. Liked the sweet shrimp 10. Sea perch: grilled on skin side. Nice and smoky 11. Mini uni ikuradon: sea urchin was so creamy. The ikura was cooked in broth Overall very good. Would bring others to try as well.

One of the best Omakase I've been to! My wife and I visited for our usual lunch FriDate and this place exceeded our expectations. We went to another Omakase and the quality of food was very distant. The service was great and the food was fantastic. The place only has 8 seats at the bar so make your reservations early.
