Staycation of our DREAMS
Now we understand why Stein is the very best... We are PC locals but always dreamed of staying at Steins and made that happen for our 1st wedding anniversary. The second you walk through the door you are greeted with relaxed kindness. Our room wasn't much to write home about but it was very comfortable and we loved the hot tub on the deck. We ate almost every meal at Troll Hallen and we've never had a better burger. The included breakfast was delicious too. We also loved using ski lockers, the staff in there were great. And to top it all off we had two 2 ft powder days in April. WINNING. See you next year Steins!

Stein is like no other property in Park City and beyond. I highly recommend to anyone in corporate events, weddings, or just for personal stay. The service is unmatched, accommodations are charming, and the food is top tier. If you are taking a trip to Park City this is the place to be.
Be the first to ReplyThe Stein Eriksen Experience
The Stein Eriksen is the absolute best in hosting a meeting or chilling on vacation. The staff if far more attentive than any other property I have been at in the Deer Valley area, including the Montage. In the future this is my go to location anytime I am in the Park City are.

Amazing service and experience at Stein. Great location, service and ambience. Perfectly positioned in the mountain. It exceeded all my expectations and I was pleasantly surprised of how kids friendly it was. We will be returning next ski season.
Be the first to ReplyNice ski in/ski out but declining overall
The ski in/ski out is the best part and most of the ski valet are superb in service, but not all of them. The ski rental shop has some great staff and some rude people who act like you have imposed upon their life. Our room had an amazing hot tub but in the freezing weather the top was hard to lift. The fireplace pilot stopped working even after maintenance was called. The heater in the water closet never worked and the bathroom was the most freezing area. The thermostat did not work and it was freezing. Really unacceptable for a place like this. Carpets need steam cleaning too. The place seems to be declining in its five star status, and not keeping up their reputation. They don’t have space for breakfast and they need to make another restaurant or expand seating.
Be the first to ReplySundance Hygge at the Stein
Arriving at the Stein is like seeing an old friend again. Was happy to open Sundance here and enjoy the hygge - which was present from the front desk to the suite to the spa to the restaurants - and all points in between. Arrived late for check-in, front desk squad was ready and provided a warm welcome. The walk to the lodge through the trees brought back so much. The crisp, cool air. The smell of the trees. I was transported to childhood. Stood in it for a minute, soaking it all in. The suite was brilliantly prepared - greatly appreciate being placed on the quiet side of the lodge facing the mountain. Dropped by the Troll for a much needed repast. Talked cinema, ate good food, all the vibes were there. Beyond that, all the signature Stein elements were still in play. Made sure to hit the spa, welcomed again with great kindness. Staff across the board continue to impress with their memory of guests. This is a most uncommon virtue. When you're at this level of hoteling, it's the little differences that make a big difference in how one feels about their stay. Details like the charming and very skier focused turndown service and the genuine warmth exuded by the staff are an immense blessing. Also having guest facing staff who've been at the Stein for years, who have deep knowledge about the hotel and area. The Stein is to Deer Valley what the Palace is to Gstaad. It’s where the real ones are.

LOVED the service and the hotel. Food was 4/5. I give it a 4/5 since our room was separated from the dining area and it was cold going from one side to the other and the jacuzzi was also outside so we didn’t go sinxe it was so cold.

a beautiful place above the toxic air in the city; magical setting, crackling fires, warm lodge, lighted trees on the mountains; the spa service was unparalleled, I felt I could relax and breath; such a glorious holiday
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Stay
The Stein is our favorite place to stay in Deer Valley. It’s older and more traditional than the other luxury choices, and we like that. The location can’t be beat. The staff is great. The breakfast buffet is very good. The complimentary shuttle is very convenient. The only negative is the cost.

Staying here now and I wish I could give this place a 6 out of 5. We just love it. From the wonderful staff at the champions club to the beautiful pool and to the amazing ski valet staff - we have had the most amazing stay. I don’t think I can ever ski without ski valet again!! Everyone has been so kind and friendly to my two girls and my husband and I. Deer valley is a wonderful ski resort with plenty of beginner runs for us to enjoy. Coming from australia we struggled with the altitude a little but they gave us hydralyte drinks that helped and sell oxygen at the shops here. I will be back!!!

My husband and I went to Stein Erikson Lodge for our 25th anniversary. The suite was beautiful, very roomy, and perfect. It had a nice balcony with a view and a hot tub. Charlie showed us around a bit and our favorite was finding out about the chocolates. They take 3 days to make and are fabulous. Thank you for making our stay memorable

Lovely property. Kids had a great time. Clean. Nice mattress, so often I can’t sleep in hotel beds. Top quality down pillows and blankets. Kids loved the heated pool and the free arcade. Good food. Would go again.

Amazing resort! Easy to work with and everyone was very attentive to our needs! The meeting space and A/V equipment was perfect for our meeting. Food on property was amazing and the concierge went above and beyond.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Venue for a Family Ski Week Vacation
Perhaps the best ski resort in the world. Top notch service, excellent food, world class terrain for skiers-only with lifts galore and a mid-mountain location that guarantees a head start in front of the crowds every morning makes this an excellent choice for any family ski trip. Easy access to Park City’s restaurants and shops via a reliable hotel shuttle is the icing on the cake. We love the Stein!
Be the first to ReplyThis Staff Sets The Bar High
The Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley is gorgeous! If you aren’t moved by the views alone, something is wrong. That isn’t even close to the best thing about this hotel, though. If impeccable service is a priority for you, SEL is the place for you. From the moment you step foot on the property, the service begins. Everyone of the valets are pleasant, helpful, and great to chat with. The front desk and concierge are also welcoming and helpful. This is a full service hotel—bags taken to room, reservations booked for you, car brought around as needed. They do not skimp on service! It is five star service without being stuffy and too formal. Our room was a three bedroom loft suite. It was gorgeous. (Our hot tub was not working despite the staff’s best effort to get it fixed before our arrival, but we didn’t miss it.) Everything was clean, spacious, and the suite overlooked the pool area. Cleaning staff were helpful and never pushy. We arrived a week before high season. This hotel was not at max capacity but you could tell they were getting ready. Our service did not suffer one bit as they geared up, though. There is a game room, movie theater, two restaurants, a spa, fitness center, pool, a couple shops, and some gorgeous scenery. There is also a free shuttle service within the local area. Download the app and let them know when and where to get you. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes. This place is top-notch on service. Truly. Many places get by with being barely pleasant. This hotel takes pleasant to a whole new level. They set the bar on personalized, quality service. It’s a gorgeous hotel, but their real asset is their people.
Be the first to ReplyVery Nice With A Few Concerns
Overall, Stein Eriksen was a very nice resort. It has beautiful views and great breakfast and lunch. My only issue was that the main dinner restaurant was fully booked and we never got a chance to dine there. We ate at Trolls instead, and though another table got a pizza, we were told we could not order one because the other table was VIP.
Be the first to ReplyThe Best Hotel in Deer Valley (But needs some improvements).
This is our second stay at the Stein and I really want to give them 5 stars because this is the best hotel in Deer Valley. The location mid-mountain is the best ski-in/ski-out there is. The ski concierge is attentive and carry your skis outside, help you with boots, just top notch service all around. The location next to silver lake lodge is also very convenient. We stay in a room with a private hot-tub and fireplace, a perfect combo for a ski holiday! The food quality and taste is exceptional. The breakfast buffet has a great selection and the skiers lunch buffet is the best we have ever had (Wow, so much to choose from). The spa is wonderful and love having that right on property (ask for Jan, she is amazing!). We took a yoga class with Laura, she is the best! Unfortunately she was only teaching on Saturdays and we only had the one class with her, otherwise we would have gone every day if she was there! However, there are some issues with the service that take away that one star. They may be minor things in the long run, but all together they add up. For this price point we should not have to call to get housekeeping after being out skiing all day and come back at 2:00 and the room is still not done, two days in a row. Then when we want to take a break and enjoy some time in the room we have housekeeping there. I felt like I was part of the staff having to call for firewood, housekeeping, bell service, multiple times, answering the door to the room 4 and 5 times because each item that is requested is brought by a separate person (housekeeping doesn’t have matches with them, that is a separate person that brings that up). We had to call for firewood every day, housekeeping doesn’t notice the wood is low and send out the call for that. It took numerous calls and visits to the front desk to find out where the washer and dryer are located. Even to the point that the person at the desk had to walk up to the room with me so I could show him there was not a washer and dryer in the room (because he didn’t believe me when I told him it wasn’t there, as we evidently would not be able to tell). Then when I showed him the washer and dryer was indeed not in our room, we had to await another phone call for him to find out where the shared washer/dryer was actually located that we could use. The restaurant staff for breakfast try their best, and a few of them do a good job. But we have never been told “no” so much. Their default answer to anything they are not familiar with is “no we can’t do that”. It gets a little draining to be told “no” there is not an item we had the last two mornings. I would expect that 1., the staff would be knowledgeable about the offerings available (and hotel in general) and 2. that the responses should be something more along the lines of “I’m happy to get that for you”. There are so many other little details I won’t bother to list them all because it gets tedious, but after a week I felt like I worked very hard to make this a good stay at the hotel. We did have a productive discussion with the manager Benjamin and he is attentive and caring, let’s hope the feedback is put into practice, because Deer Valley is not the same without the Stein!
Be the first to ReplyBest Ski Lodge in the US
This was our second ski trip at the Stein. Can't say enough about what an experience it is to stay here. If you're skiing DV, it's truly ski-in-ski-out. You're not walking to a lift, standing in a gondola line, or any of that. You're mid-mountain and you just walk, I dunno, 10 feet from the boot room to your skis waiting for you on the snow. Zero effort or fuss. You don't even get on a lift, you just start skiiing downhill to the lift. The rooms, service, dining, etc. are all first rate; as you would expect in Deer Valley at this price point. The vibe, however, is unique. Less crowded, more privacy, higher level of touch with staff. When you book, make dinner rez at the Glitretind restaurant right away. Great dining experience, but it's not a huge restaurant and it fills up.
Be the first to ReplySimply the Best!
On a recent trip to Park City, I had the opportunity to stay at Stein Eriksen Lodge and what a truly special place it is. The only disappointment was actually having to leave to go home. The location is spectacular and the views are just absolutely breath taking, but more importantly the entire staff is incredible and beyond helpful with anything that you might need with luggage, ski equipment, lockers, etc. The attention to detail on the small things like chocolate truffles on your pillow each night and heated floors in the bathroom truly make this property first-class. The food was out of this world, including one of the best breakfast buffets I've ever had. The jazz band during apres was just the perfect way to unwind after a day on the slopes. On this trip, I did not have a vehicle, but Stein made that so effortless with being able to use their shuttles or even access to a Lincoln Navigator which was such a cool experience! Highly recommend Stein Eriksen, and can't wait to come back and enjoy the property again very soon. There isn't a better property in Park City.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible Service, Amenities and Location!
I had some business in Park City and extended my stay with a few nights at Stein Eriksen Lodge at the recommendation of a big skiier. It was incredible! There was tons of snow and the mountain was busy. The view from my room was breathtaking, the bed and pillows were so comfortable, and the room was modern and well stocked. The breakfast buffet was a feast, and dinner at Glitretind restaurant was delicious with top-notch service. Patrick was the best waiter! The apres-ski was lively, with a jazz band that played pop hits. I even managed to get a massage and do some yoga before I left. There is turn-down service each night with the most delicious chocolates. The service was incredible at every step of the way, and it's obvious why this resort is 5 stars. Especially if you are a skiier, the mid-mountain location can't be beat. Hop on a chairlift outside and you're good to go!
Be the first to ReplyWorld Class Lodge
I am a traveling photographer and I have stayed a lot of places. I love the Stein Eriksen Lodge. It is a world class lodge. It is not only beautifully designed the staff is so kind and friendly, the food is delicious and the rooms are so unique and comfortable and like your own cabin in the woods. But being able to walk out of your room and walk to the ski lift is pretty damn cool. IF you are wanting to visit Park City/Deer Lodge there is no better place to stay.
Be the first to ReplyDated and disappointing.
Let me start out with the good things: clearly this is a historic lodge of great importance to the history of Deer Valley. The location is the best for serious skiers. The ski and boot room service is the best. Most of the people who work there are eager to do well and are professional, dutiful, courteous, and truly want the guest to feel good. Mr. Benjamin the front desk manager ever so friendly and caring. BUT... if you are looking for beautiful rooms (I know beauty is subjective) I did not find it here. The decor is dowdy at best and almost depressing. The lodge is in dire need of updating. Yes, some history and old places are charming.. but in this case there is a depressive feel to the rooms' set up. I was told that all rooms, residences, and accommodations are privately owned and decorated differently. But most that I looked at after I got so upset with our assigned room were mostly the same. Dated and dowdy. I was also told that if you rent in the newer part of the Erickson estates (it was not clear to me what exactly that meant no matter how much I asked) that the accommodations are newer. There are houses for sale, condos being built, and one 22 million dollar home being adverstised for sale.. All looked amazing.. So maybe that is the direction of the future? Not sure. it is very hard to understand this place actually. AND, no one seems to know how to explain it. AS for the FOOD: THAT IS THE MOST AWFUL. Room service is below mediocre with a very limited menu. Someone needs to find a better chef for sure. The main restaurant staff all friendly and nice (too many people stranding around somehow.. but eager to be welcoming) and the food very average. The breakfast people surely work hard to present a well balance buffet. But, there again, the chef needs to be replaced FOR SURE. Everything could be many notches better. I am not sure as we spent AROUND 2500 DOLLARS EACH NIGHT FOR A ROOM HOW ON EARTH TO JUSTIFY THAT WITH WHAT WE EXPERIENCED! This hotel at best may be for large conferences or meetings maybe? I will say that the manager did 'upgrade' us. But what that meant just a bigger room with a kitchen and wood fireplace. The furnishings again 'dowdy'. Something my great grandparents furnished? I understand that there is a certain 'style' to Deer Valley as we saw some of those sort of neglected hotel entrances and stained benches at the Montage, and perhaps the best of the worst (since we did make an effort to discover other venues while we were there) MAYBE the St. Regis (that too felt so commercial and many unused neglected spaces. NONE of the charm of say Beaver Creek or even Jackson Hole. The ski slopes are the best but WHY and can someone explain to me is the food, accommodations, and style of the Deer Valley so lacking of charm and cozy? It does not take much to fix a broken light finial in a reception area? Or to have a clean bench? Or to employ some fresh colors and liveliness (for example most spaces in the ST. Regis as we visited in the afternoon where not utilized and felt so lonely)... Anyway... that is my honest review. Sad about it. Why do we continue to accept mediocrity?
Be the first to Reply40th Anniversary Trip
We had always wanted to stay at 'The Stein' and finally had a chance when it was time to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. When we arrived, I asked for an upgrade as our room didn't have a fireplace. Even though the property was near capacity, Gaylia, at the front desk, worked with her manager to find us the absolutely PERFECT suite for our stay. We enjoyed a gorgeous King suite with 2 fireplaces, huge kitchen, large hot tub and really amazing views. We skied, enjoyed the delicious food at the restaurants (including Sunday brunch), even dined in an Alpenglobe. We both agree that the couples massage at the spa was probably our favorite aspect of the trip. SEL truly lives up to its reputation and has the highest standard of service. It was a true European ski lodge experience in every detail. The Stein Eriksen tradition lives on with this gem of a resort. Don't miss out on a chance to experience it yourself.
