I enjoyed my stay here.
If you have status they have a very nice lounge on the top floor. I will say the only detractor is their rooms need soft door closures. You can hear slamming doors through the day and night and it's really loud.

It was not good we asked for extra towels (we had 4 guests) and they gave us 2 towels I was there for a dance competition and the elevators weren't working and me and my mom just gave up and went down 15 flights of stairs, when we got on the elevator there were about 3 floors people wanted to get off on and it passed every. Single. One and went straight to the lobby I heard that a different dance team girls grandma got sent to the E.R. For a dislocated shoulder Because the elevator doors were open but it went up as she was stepping on don't come here unless you HAVE to
Be the first to ReplyHere for work and was pleased to see a nice gym.
Hotel was clean, nice view, friendly staff.
Be the first to ReplyMy wife and I had an amazing date night here.
It started with the check in staff Taylor. Not only was he as nice as can be, he was able to upgrade us from the 27th floor to the 36th floor(with city view) for my wife's birthday! I also have to mention Branden. He was locking up the pool and was able to let us enjoy the hot tub for an extra hour, instead of just turning us away. Overall, I was absolutely impressed with the customer service here. For that alone, I highly recommend Sheraton at crown center!
Be the first to ReplyStayed here again on a business trip.
Parking is really easy, but for some reason, they made me go to the counter instead of getting my key on the app. They informed me that I needed to check in physically with my id, very confusing. I got my key on the app the next day. The rooms are nice, the beds are comfy, the views were great, but the showers need some work. Overall, I had a great two night stay.

The hotel charged me for parking during a conference on days when I didn't have a car there. I've spent more time on the phone, with the hotel staff, accounting department, corporate accounting etc. that I care to count. I've received multiple assurances that I would be refunded. Unfortunately that hasn't happened.

There are so many things I like about this hotel, but there are so many things that are unforgettable, and not in a good way. Pros: - Fantastic view of downtown KC - Great gym with free weights, cardio machines, and cold water dispenser - Stunning lobby! - Elevators were fast, but no convention or game was in town. - A nice remodel and facelift - Great walking distance to WWI monument, several great restaurants, and Crown Center. Cons: - A facelift doesn't change old bones. HVAC and water issues, and this hotel has both. - Shower will take several minutes to heat up. Also, the hot/cold indicator spins round and around, so ten minutes later you're still trying to figure out where the heat is. We had some hot showers, some lukewarm showers. - HVAC isn't great. We swapped rooms after day 1 bc the room temp wouldn't go below 72. Second room was fine until the third night, then the temp wouldn't go below 72 either. Hallways were far colder than the rooms. - Summertime humidity was uncomfortable. We couldn't get the towels to dry between showers, especially since the air stopped getting cold. - Self-park is $25 a night with in-and-out access.
Be the first to ReplyThe room was large and comfortable.
Check in was easy. However, we were there during a national STEM competition. I am all for kids getting their science and math on, but the hotel was overrun with children everywhere. Playing tag in the lobby at midnight, working on projects in the hallway at 6:30 in the morning. And no one seemed to care. We were warned not to order room service when we checked in, as they were backed up for hours. Like I said, the room was comfortable, but you could hear everything going on outside your room. So check what what is going on in their conference center, before you book. Being connected to the Link was a total asset, and I really enjoyed being able to get around without having to worry about traffic. I would stay here again, as long as there wasn't a kid conference going on. Lol
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful hotel.
Great location. Huge complex but Creepy about the past and what happened in 1981.
Be the first to ReplyZero stars, terrible management.
Booked a room through their website several days before and then we drove many hours to KC for a concert. Arrived just before 6pm, tipped the valet nicely and expected to check in quickly to our room so we could dump our bags and get to the concert. My wife was told at the desk that our room wasn't ready. We waited awhile longer in the lobby and then checked back with the front desk. Someone else came out and told us they gave away our room to somebody else. Fine work Sheraton KC Crown Center, thanks for wrecking the weekend!Make sure you have a backup plan if you book a room at Sheraton Crown Center KC because they might give the room you reserved to somebody else. No more Sheraton hotels for us!

Failed to mention renovations that shut off access to link to crown center.
Be the first to ReplyIf I could give a zero I would, but I guess they do deserve
If I could give a zero I would, but I guess they do deserve a one with aesthetics being beautiful. First, check in was at 4pm - we somehow made good time and knew we'd be arriving at 9am. Called yesterday and basically was told very sternly that that's our own fault for doing so through a third party and there's absolutely nothing they can do to help us out. Not even for an extra fee. Now, preface; my husband and I are first time late 20s parents of a 10pm that old and we just drove all the way from San Diego, CA for a funeral. Now fast forward to 5pm (we needed to pass time until 4 then got a little late) - we check in, go to the elevators and realize they didn't write our room number on the card key paper holder. We go back, wait in a short line, to the same lady who helped us originally (great gal, no issues.) - she then proceeds to not be able to find our reservation and someone else had to help. 15 minutes later and "rebooking" we get into our room. And... it's not completely cleaned. Trash bins had no liners, TP was half out, nightstand hadn't been dusted or wiped down and there was clear prints on the bed from someone sitting or lying. Like creases. Not to mention the sheets have little holes everywhere. And... to top It off the heater hasn't switched on. :( This has been by far the most miserable visit back to Kansas City as an adult. Born and raised here... and tonight has been exhausting hell.I order room service for my family at 9pm and then call at 10:30pm due to It not have arriving....Put on hold for five minutes and then It disconnected.Call back to front desk. Put on hold for 2 minutes. Then she comes back and proceeds to rudely tell me that someone delivered the food within 20mins ago. He apparently stood there for 7 minutes. Called the room twice and knocked " a ton". "So yeah since you didn't answer they threw your whole order away and the kitchens closed. Sorry."Her again: " what I can do is instead of your order I can get you salad plates as replacement."I am allergic to salad. Why did they throw our food away? If we really didn't answer It (which is impossible for 3 humans to miss something like that) - why didn't they leave this big nice meal at our door? I AM looking for reconciliation. This was the WORST hotel experience I've had in KC and pretty much anywhere. I'm disappointed Sheraton Crown Center. Do better.Edit: Just noticed damage to the ceiling.... Pics attached

We were in town for a short visit to visit friends and go to Chirfs game. I chose Sheraton over some of the others out there because the proximity to food and that decision was super awesome!!!I gave 5 stars because they upgraded me on the room and paid attention to the down free allergies requested. I reached out multiple times to staff at the Westin as that's where I originally had reservations. However they couldn't work with my room type for all 3 nights... Kind of a bummer as we are Platinum elite members... Just not treated like it much. The cleaning crew was awesome they greeted us as we walked by and were very generous. The stay was peaceful. The bathroom was legit...the shower had a luxurious feel...I will look to stay with them again if the price is right. We got a great special. (booked early) I feel that it was a great value! Thank you Marriott/Sheraton for the hospitality. The parking is a bit expensive. Kinda sad ...Respectfully,A very pleased platinum elite Bonvoy Member if anyone READs theseBryanYukon, Oklahoma

Pulled into the valet lane and stopped right in front of the entrance. Got out and unloaded our bags while two of the valet staff just looked at us. Had to approach their desk to get service. Didn't see bell service at anytime during our overnight stay. Housekeeping never showed up to clean our room, despite my visit to the front desk to say so. Guest services absolutely unavailable from our room but reachable from the hallway phone. Service in general not available. Valet slowest ever, despite barely any other guests in the hotel... made us late for our appointment in the morning. Management seemed nonexistent! Never felt so ignored during any stay in a hotel, even Super 8s and Motel 6s. Visit this hotel if you are looking for hands-off "hospitality" and zero assistance. Giving this place a one star rating only because I can't post a review with no stars. Caveat emptor (let the buyer beware!)
Be the first to ReplyI had the occasion to stay at this hotel recently.
They happened to be very busy with a couple of conference groups at the time. Even so I was impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness the staff displayed throughout my stay. Michael especially at the front desk went out of his way to help meet the various needs of residents. Safe and easy access to "the Link" for shopping and restaurants was another plus.Kudos to the friendly and helpful staff!

I checked in shortly after 4:00 and two hours later I'm still waiting for my room. I checked in on-line at 9:00am but apparently that is worthless. No real apology, no offer to reduce the cost or anything. I'm sure I still have to check out by 11 though.

It's a nice enough business hotel, but because of allergies, I requested a feather-free room. I called a few days ahead to get my Bonvoy number added to the reservation, and the person I spoke with mentioned that they had my feather-free request on file already. It's also in my Bonvoy profile. After a long day, I went to bed exhausted. I woke up at about 3 AM, miserable and congested. I checked the pillows, and all four were feather pillows. I think the mattress top was also feather, but there are absolutely no tags on it.I called the front desk and was told that there was nothing that could be done until 7 AM because that's when the housekeeping staff comes in. I'm supposed to present to a group of professionals and be knowledgeable and engaging on less than five hours of sleep. This is totally unacceptable. While I understand that I cannot expect housekeeping, staff to be just standing by in the wee hours of the morning, the front desk staff seemed unsympathetic to my predicament, and offered nothing in the way of compensation. other than a very weak "I'm sorry this happened to you."I expect more from a Marriott property.Update: I finished a round of conference sessions at 4 PM and didn't have anywhere to be until 6 PM. Because I was so tired, I was looking forward to getting a bit of a nap. I returned my room, and not only was my room not defeathered, I had no housekeeping whatsoever-- the bed was unmade, wet towels, were on the bathroom counter, etc. When I called in the wee hours this morning, I was told that my room will be the first one on the schedule, and they would be defeather the room. I went down to the lobby instead of calling this time, and was given a weak excuse that while the down pillows are feathers, they are hypoallergenic. The implication being that it's my fault I'm having an allergic reaction to their pillows and bedding.Totally unacceptable and no one has even hinted at any sort of compensation.

What a dump! This place is the absolute worst! We have stayed at this hotel numerous times (more than 10 nights) because I visit family that lives here. Every single time we have some issue. During the month of July and August the door to the Elite lounge was inoperative and everyone at the front desk acted surprised. Yet, each time they had to send someone from security up to let us in. You would think after having to go through this every weekend, they would 1) fix the door and 2) stop trying to tell us they didn't know it was broken. Let alone, you always have to fight the front desk to get your Marriott Titanium status perks that should come without an issue. Our biggest was upgrades. There are so many other issues and customer service failures to mention here but the latest was this stay. We burned a suite award night for this one night. We got to the room and we could not connect any device to the internet. We spent 20-30 minutes trying to get ahold of the front desk. For one, one phone in our room was inoperative so we used the other phone and our cell phones but nobody would answer the phone. Finally, they answered after the 20-30 minutes. No help, told us to call the 1-800 number listed on the web connect page. The guy reset the routers in our area - allegedly - and still couldn't connect after 20+mins working with him. In the end he pushed us back to the front desk because he said there was a reservation error either in the name spelling or date. We contacted the front desk again and she brushed us off saying everything was correct. Thanks Marriott, you've pushed me to Hilton, where they know customer service and appreciate their loyalty members.

We are pretty loyal to the Marriott brand and this is our first weekend at this property stay since they added Sheraton to the lineup awhile back. Located in Crown Center, the most striking thing was the view. The room was average; old television, tiny fridge, coffee station, safe, king-bed with memory foam. Modern and more masculine decor. Not a particularly warm hotel, as the staff was a bit aloof. Self parking was $23 per day and valet $32 per day in a covered and secured lot. Given our typically casual travel, meaning we are somewhere visiting family, using the room merely to change clothes and sleep, this would not become regular spot for us. We usually get ideas on places to visit or food recommendations from hotel staff, but not on this stay. For the folks attending the wedding that happened this weekend or someone with a social group getaway may find this property far more appealing.
