Pricey but great fresh food ! the Sole fish was very flavorful and tasty . Delicious oysters too !
Be the first to ReplyAmazing, as ever.
Staff were so kind to seat us in exactly our favorite bar seats. The Dover Sole is just the best anywhere. A lovely scene, five star service, wonderful wine list. Unbeatable seafood. Never had a bad day at Scott's.

Had one of the best dinners here recently and cannot rave enough about this place. Ambience was VERY GOOD... it's got a bit of swank, an amazing raw bar and the staff just go out of their way to make sure your experience is top notch. The place is busy and the vibe is upbeat and (as noted) a bit of swankiness that makes you know you are going to have good grub. Had a few people with me and it was a birthday dinner so we went a bit crazy trying tons of stuff on the menu... not one disappointed person, selection or anything from the raw bar... Super nice people that go out of their way to make sure you are VERY happy before, during and after dinner. Thank you guys! Great night!

Absolutely outstanding experience all of the way around! From the moment you walk in, seeing the raw bar behind the bar, to the elegance and chicness of the room, you know you are in for a fantastic evening. Our servers were great, the cocktails were excellent and the food was absolutely delicious! Also, so very nice not feel rushed when having such a lovely evening. When you find yourself in London, head over to Mayfair, and give Scott's try, trust us, they will not disappoint!
Be the first to ReplyGreat seafood restaurant with an amazing ambiance.
The staff were friendly and did everything to make your dining experience amazing. I will definitely be visiting again.

My first human encounter with this place is when a snooty, posh accented woman called me to confirm my reservation. She told me it is highly unlikely I would be able to be seated outside because they had requests for those tables before my request and I was fine with that. After telling me this, she then informs me that the minimum spend per table is ยฃ75 per person and I said that was fine. Normally we spend over ยฃ100 per person when we go out so that amount did not phase me. Its just weird that after telling me that its highly unlikely I'd get a table, why would she then tell me about the minimum spend for outside tables??? Doesn't make sense. These people assume that you are poor over the phone because I have a foreign accent and if they don't see labels on you as you walk through the door they assume you are poor as well and can't afford to eat at their establishment. Extremely classist. I showed up and saw two outside tables empty upon my arrival but I just let it slide and was seated inside. They seated us sandwiched in-between two other tables, up against the wall in a booth type seating and it was a mission to even get in and out of my seat because the space was so small and cramped. Also would like to note that there were people who arrived after us who were seated inside and when I left, I saw the same people now seated at one of the outside tables. They pick and choose who gets the outside tables based on god only knows what. The food was extremely boring, flavourless and bland. The restaurant itself was extremely busy, staff hurrying up and down, not a relaxed atmosphere. All in all this place is nothing but hype and no substance, I came here thanks to their reputation of being an iconic great restaurant but that can't be further from the truth. The inside is also not interesting, the decor is boring but most importantly the food was a complete disappointment. Only good things about this place was the service from waiters and the toilets smell really nice. Don't waste your time with this over hyped and over priced basic restaurant. Just to note we spent over ยฃ250 at this place without any alcohol for 2 people. I will never return, far better restaurants in London.
Be the first to ReplyThe food and the ambiance was great.
We had two servers. One in uniform and the other in a suit. She, in the uniform was great and working her butt off. The guy in the suit single-handedly brought this review from a solid 5 star review to a two star review. Let's call him the pit boss. The pit boss came after we gave an order for an appetizer to the lady. He acted pissed. He moaned he had. Talk with her. He came back and since we order the seafood tower, he push hard for us to upgrade it to have n additional lobster in it. The tower was ยฃ120. The extra lobster was ยฃ105. He then disappeared and went n to push a bottle of wine on us. We figured out that this beautiful restaurant pit boss was the up-sell guy. They guy who tries to get your bill as high as possible. the tower was amazing and was enough as a meal for two. It went well beyond and appetizer. I'm 6'4, 250lbs and I was completely satiated and satisfied with the food. He then came over and we were feeling pretty full no he asked what we wanted for the main course no we told him just a half lobster thermidor. His reaction was purely argumentative. It is tiny he said, not enough for one person. We thanked him for the information and said, we are close to full. He insisted we needed to order more and I finally just said, please, just the half order. We did not see him again until the check, where he asked for the card but would not let me see the bill, after I asked, I saw they added. Service charge of 14.5% which is almost a tip that we would give typically at 20%, but strangely they Lao had a cover charge, which brought it up to the 20%. For such nice food and great ambiance, this place has a weird desire to drive bills as high as they can actively with pit bosses over table and these type of shenanigans. I would return, but with caution p. Maybe it was just this guy though.
Be the first to ReplyFood is not cooked properly.
The chef is not training the kitchen staff and not overseeing the food as it leaves the kitchen.

Delicious! Last minute reservations at the bar did not disappoint! Great service, drinks and food! My DH and I were in dressed casually but many were more dressy. We started with Espresso Martinis - one of our favs. DH had oysters and I had lobster bisque. Both were excellent. I had grilled lobster with "chips" (fries in the USA). DH had halibut. We shared mashed potatoes and Brussels Sprouts. All are highly recommended. No room for dessert!

This place just felt special! On our second night on our trip, which was a Saturday, I planned for us to dine here, knowing it would be a bit more upscale than other places we would dine at over our week in London. We were spending the Thanksgiving week in London, which was my partners first time in the city and my return since living here 20 year ago.Everyone seems to be dressed up, celebrating something, and it just felt fancy. Luckily, we had planned for this and felt we were dressed appropriately, me in a dress, him in slacks and a button down shirt. They had the outside all decked out for Christmas, which was a really nice touch. We started with two cocktails, which were both amazing. We then ordered a bottle of wine for dinner, and he ordered oysters to start and I had the seafood cocktail. He like the oysters and I enjoyed the seafood cocktail, although, there was mayo or something in the sauce to make it more creamy and pink, so if you are expecting a traditional red cocktail sauce, be aware. Our wine was outstanding, the wine list was very good. For our main courses, I opted for the monkfish curry. This was outstanding! I loved every bite. He had the daily special fish for one, and said it was really good. The most epic ending to our meal was the trifle pudding. Previous to this trip, my partner didn't understand how amazing steamed cakes are, and now, he does. It was perfection. Service was really attentive and formal. So glad we ate here, it was a very special night during our vacation.

Everything at Scott's is...perfect. Wonderful ambiance. Perfect Dover Sole. The variety of seafood available is stunning. The only "problem" is that all the world knows about Scott's too, so be prepared to be in the center of a lot of activity. But it's the good kind. Can't say enough about this place. Just that we will always come back!
Be the first to ReplyI did not plan to go here last night.
Luckily I stopped and dined here. Service 9/10Food 8.5/10Atmosphere 8/10Price: in 3 people we spent 150GBPWe ordered 2 beers, water, one appetizer, and a main entree each. It's one of the oldest restaurants in London and it serves exquisite seafood. I ordered the Salmon appetizer and it was light and flavorful. As a main dish, I had the seaBass (look at the photo), it was very good and light. T

This is one of my favorite places in London, classy but not staid, friendly staffs, we went there the first night I arrived. I wanted to try new dishes this time so I ordered razor clams as an appetizer and shared the tuna and sea bass ceviche. Razor reminded of Korean dish with some spices. It was good but didn't top my favorite dish, octopus cappacio. Again I order monk fish and prawn masala instead of my usual either sea bass or John Dory which wasn't available. If you like curry, it's good dish, it has mild flavor but rich. Comes with side rice. We ordered mash potatoes which was creamy and delicious and my favorite dish of the day was aubergine. It was perfectly seasoned and grilled. And we can't complete dinner without my BF's favorite dessert, Paris Brest. Yummy!!
Be the first to ReplyIf there were less stars to give this restaurant I would.
It's kind of everything that's wrong in the world. Entitled. We were greeted by being told that we would have to order immediately because the kitchen is closing. Not what you expect from a 59 pound for a dozen oysters place. But you are told you have 90 minutes to eat (fair enough) - but upon mentioning our wedding anniversary it was brought up that we were late. 10 minutes and we called because we were lost. We had a beautiful week in london and the host as well Simone (our waiter) made this the single worst night in London.

Fantastic raw bar, cocktails are made with thorough effort and the bartenders take their time to make the best drink you've had in a while. The fish and chips blew my mind though. I'd eat that dish over and over again.
Be the first to ReplyIt's still good.
Quality has not changed. A few updates to my prior review: they serve more than 100 Dover soles a day so they have the cooking process down Pat. Still my go to dish when I come here. Scotts is opening another location in Richmond and one in Riyadh of all places! Fish is sourced from local fisherman in the UK and not big fish farms. Maybe that is why it is so good. On the downside they strangely charged us a 2 pounds per person cover charge, and we got shooed off our table to make way for the next seating before we were really finished. And we spent over 500 pounds for the three of us. Slightly annoying.
Be the first to ReplyUpscale place in Mayfair.
Hard to book but I was fortunate enough to walk in on a Friday night and get a place at the bar. Great quality oysters and I had a few glasses of mersuault to chase. Tried a few times later for proper dinner bookings without success. Will report when I do. Cheap ? Hell no , but it's Mayfair mount street , and my observation is that great oysters are hard to come by in london.

It's been about 2 years since I came here for the first time. As soon as I arrived in London, I wanted to come here. Very busy. Food was as great as I remembered. I had to have one of their signature dish, octopus cappacio which was melting in my mouth. I added oysters which were amazing. I had sea bass and my BF had John Dory both were amazing. Dessert was fantastic. My BF had Paris Brest which is his favorite. I had honeycomb ice cream and it served with 3 pieces of dalgoda candy. Since I just watched squid game and I grew up with dalgoda it hit me differently this time. Love this restaurant.

We specifically drove to the area for a different restaurant however Scott's caught our eye and we skipped on over there. Glad we did. Service was spectacular. We sat out front and we're able to enjoy the weather. We had a few things that were wonderful. The fried oysters were amazing, definitely need to try this. The octopus carpaccio was quite lovely but my favorite hands down was the watermelon lobster gazpacho. What a treat. Every bite was delicious. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyService was great.
Ambience was great. Food was great; i recommend the grilled lobster! Portion size for the lobster was absolutely tiny for the price paid. But i guess all these types of places are like that. Overall good experience

Not too much to say about this restaurant other than magnificent food, service and atmosphere. About ยฃ100 pp, 3 courses with an aperitif and a bottle of wine. Would I go back...? Silly question!
Be the first to ReplyBougie with a reputation that it deserves.
The food is excellent. Make sure to order the prawn tempura and the cheese soufflรฉ if available. Great for private dinner parties downstairs. Only downside is the inability to have just drinks or nibbles. It is supposedly against their license which I found to be hugely aggravating. If the weather is nice, sit outside and people watch on one of the nicest streets in Mayfair.

Best and romantic This place is my favourite place in London. Sure you will have an unforgettable dinner here. My only recommendation is to try something new in each visit, because every other plate is an artwork.

My fiancรฉ and I decided to go out for a special dinner as it is my last few days in London before I head back to the states. I am a big fan of oysters and immediately began searching online where I can find the best selection of oysters- Scott's did not disappoint. We made reservations online and as soon as we entered we were seated (after the hostess checked in our coats =4ยฃ). We were greeted by our waiter who offered us still water. I ordered the 1/2 dozen Gillardeau Rock oysters which were meaty and had a sweet taste to them. My fiancรฉ ordered the buffalo mozzarella which was pretty good. As our mains, we ordered salmon miso and the blacked cod. Overall the dishes were exceptional and nicely seasoned. We also got chips and roasted artichoke as sides. As if our bellies weren't stuffed enough we ordered the chocolate fondant with espresso. The fondant wasn't very sweet however the side of ice cream balanced it out. Overall I'd say this is a once in a blue moon treat as our bill was over 190ยฃ. Also I don't believe this restaurant is kid friendly as it caters to a more mature/business class audience. With all the chatter it was a bit hard to hear my fiancรฉ speaking (and he sat right next to me). The only negative for me was that we asked for the bill which took 10 mins (I guess the waiter forgot).
