Awesome
Awesome ceviche and I loved the Aji de Galina, tasty, delicious. Fist time trying Peruvian food and really impressed. Fried yuca was delicious as well.

I had been meaning to try Sazón for a long time, and finally went yesterday. It's amazing! The food is flawless, the service excellent and so friendly, prices reasonable and portions quite sufficient. We felt so warmly welcomed and well fed!

Friends and I decided to try this place for lunch. There is limited parking so if this place is busy, I think you'll have to park on the street. At lunch, it wasn't busy. This is not a fancy place but it works. Interestingly, there's a small deli counter inside. There were 5 of us on our visit. I'm not sure but believe the owner was our server. Most of us had never had Peruvian food before including myself. He made some suggestions, but I think everyone had already settled on a choice. When I ordered the Pescado con Alcaparras (fish with asparagus), the server said "that's a good one." Others tried various entrees. Turned out, it was over the top good...and I don't say that very often. This entrees comes a delicious sauce that I spooned over everything. The fish (pan fried talapia) was full of flavor and so was the asparagus. There's also some potato slices and white rice. Top with that delicious sauce, these too were outstanding! Now this is definitely a pricey place...even for lunch. We asked for separate checks which the owner had no problem doing. Everyone's check had an automatic 20% tip added...for a party of five! Huh? One of my friends got a burger and Peruvian soda (suggested by the owner)...$12...wow! Out the door for a burger, fries, soda, and 20% tip...$47! My order with a Peruvian beer & 20% tip was $41. Food-wise...awesome! Price-wise, a little bit too unreasonable considering the 20% automatic tip. Best option, visit in groups 4 or less and just have water! Out the door, your check will be more than appropriate! If I eat here again, it's entree and water only for me!

This was our first visit to Sazon and it was great. We started by sharing an order of ceviche with tigre de leche sauce. It was very flavorful, we loved it. The fish was great and so were the fried calamari. For entrees, I had the chicken stew and my husband had the pork stew. Both were excellent!

Sazón has unfortunately disappointed me, I took my mother there, told her how great of a experience I had in the past. I raved about the food and the service.... But tonight I was proved wrong. My mom and I ordered food and not to exaggerate, we waited 40 to 45 minutes ( was not very busy ) to receive the food. We kept looking at plates being delivered too other tables. (still amazed on the presentation of how good plates looked) Finally I started to get slightly irritated as our food still had not been delivered to our table. A man, I believe manager or perhaps owner, (not sure what he was) said he would check on our food but didn't come to inform us of the delay until I made a signal to our server to ask what was taking so long.. the man was busier getting the gals next to us their birthday dessert rather than communicating with us about the delay. He over heard me asking our server and said it's coming sir it's coming! (As he padded my shoulder) like that was going to fix the issue! I was very put off and replied to him yes but why is it taking so long. Finally our food was delivered and for my surprise my food was not made how I had ordered it. As a person that is in the food service industry, I expected an explanation or little to say an apology at least for such a long wait. Usually restaurants will fix their error when a situation like this happens! (Comp an item or reduce the bill) I want to believe our ticket was lost or miss placed but I won't know because nothing was said to us. I am not sure if they could read my facial expressions but I was definitely not happy with the situation. My overall experience today saddens me to say I will not be coming back and won't refer anyone to Sazón either. I strongly believe tips are earned, not just given!

I have had the chance to visit Peru twice and completely fell in love with the cuisine: from the homey classics like lomo saltado, to the fiery yet delicious ceviches all the way to the crazy experimental experience at Central.... So I can hardly resist trying a peruvian restaurant when I bump into one... and I usually leave utterly disappointed.. the taste is bland, the preparation are tamed down... and the magic is gone... this includes La Mar in SF which is a shadow of the original one in Lima and doesn't give justice to what true peruvian food is all about.... and then there is Sazon in Santa Rosa: a family owned, unassuming place which makes you feel like you just flash traveled to Lima.... the owner Jose and the staff are super nice and the food is absolutely delicious and authentic... their ceviches will let you experience what real leche de tigre is all about... and why the quality of the lime is so key to it. Their lomo saltado was so good that we almost fought over it... it was totally the style of the one I had tried at one of Gaston Acurio's restaurants in Lima... We liked it so much that we stopped by again the next day for a quick ceviche fix at lunch... and my kids both made me swear that we will go to Peru together one day... This is our new stop in Santa Rosa! thanks to the team for a great experience !

This is the second time we come here and the food is still the best for Peruvian Cuisine. The waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable of the specials that they had for the day. Everything on the menu was explicit on the items listed of what the dishes contained. Covid 19 protocol was followed. Every team member was wearing a mask. The restaurant is large enough for social distancing.
