For over a decade (actually about 14 years), I've frequented this place, even though I've cut out sugar. Waiting an hour for my Cortado was part of its charm. I wonder how much money 14 years of overpriced Cortados add up too. However, today marked a definitive end. I forgot my wallet, a rare occurrence given my daily, sometimes twice-daily visits spanning over did I mention a decade! - even before my daughter was born ( she's 14 ). Despite this, they refused to serve me or allow me to return the next day to pay. It's disappointing. Every other coffee shop has a reward system; they should too. Cutting out bread and sugary treats has transformed my life - they offer no nutritional value, just toxicity. This experience feels like a sign. Besides they have no idea really how to manage customer flow. Who ever designed that bakery is a complete idiot. Update: I just discovered a much better spot passionfruit coffee (waaaaaay better coffee and customer flow and all round ambience and energy ) and they have heavy cream so I don't have to bring my own everyday. This has truly been a blessed day
Be the first to ReplyVERY BAD customer service.
..first off this place is way over-hyped, pastries are not worth the amount of attitude or and lack of customer service I got from the servers and then have the nerve to have an option to tip. What would I be tipping you for..if you have a problem serving my kind put that on the door.

As a frequent customer at Saraghina Pizza, it should've come as no surprise that I'd love their Bakery. My only wish is that I'd become a regular here sooner! What jumps out to me is how fresh everything is here. Fresh bread, fresh pasta, fresh pastries. They even stock a selection of (admittedly, quite pricey) homemade gelatos. It smells like heaven as soon as you walk in the door. They have a wide variety of dry and canned goods for sale, things like jams and preserves, tinned fish, oils, and sauces. There's a small fridge section with delicious cheeses and meats to purchase, and also Bolognese sauce that's made in-house. I recently bought some of their pappardelle for pasta night at home and was not disappointed. The breads are delicious, featuring baguette, filone, and mica among others. The sea salt chocolate chip cookie, while $5, is bigger than a baby's face and has the unique quality of tasting like a cookie and also kind of like a brownie? Totally worth treating yourself to. I absolutely love the ham and cheese croissant that's recently popped up, too. They have a rotating selection of sandwiches so pop in and see what suites your fancy. Lastly, and possibly most importantly, I've found them to have the most consistently tasty oat mocha in the neighborhood. Huge plus for me!

Local bakery in the hood that usually has a line down the block but, today was my lucky day! No line, the sun was shining and they had focacciaaaaa!! It looked so good that I sat down on the bench outside bust that bag open and you know what, the way it looked matched how it tasted. It was so so good. Also copped some sheep's milk ricotta and taleggio cheese. It was a perfect Saturday morning...Go here!

Saraghina Bakery is actually better than their namesake restaurant, though if you're in the area you may as well hit up both. Baked goods sell out fast here, so come early and don't hesitate. I tried:+ Almond croissant+ Filone Bread+ Half whole wheat micca+ Crostata+ Chocolate chip cookie+ Linzer tart + Packaged granola The highlights were the croissant, linzer tart and granola (the granola is reasonably priced, too). Breads were great as well. Next time: I need to come early enough to get a pistachio croissant!

Worst Latte!$8 for a latte and it was absolutely undrinkable. Customer service is average.Should have known when the barrista made it in less than 30 seconds.Don't waste your money.
Be the first to ReplyI love the food here.
The bread here is the best I have ever had. It's so fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back.

Had a house guest visiting this week and he stopped by the bakery - brought back a Pullman loaf and some pistachio spread. So happy to see that the Pullman loaf is back and to be returning to the bakery for our weekly baked good needs. Thank you Saraghina!

The breads and pastries are exceptional and I've enjoyed the fresh pastas as well. Prices are high for grocery items, but products are high quality. The staff has always been warm and friendly in my experience, I love having a shop like this nearby when I'm looking to make a special meal, bring guests for a morning croissant or just get a fresh loaf of bread. Coffee is good too!

Be the first to ReplySaraghina Bakery is a Brooklyn gem.
It's located in the beautiful historic Bedstuy (Stuyvesant Heights). The Bakery neighbors the restaurant. The bakery has limited hours and a very loyal following of return customers. They offer a wide variety of cafe items and baked goods. This time, however, I forgone baked goods and ordered their house made bolognese sauce. Next to homemade, Saraghina Bakery offers some of the best bolognese sauce for takeout that I've ever had. It's fresh, delicious, and relatively cost effective at under $10.
Be the first to ReplyI live in the neighborhood and I've been going to Saraghina
I live in the neighborhood and I've been going to Saraghina bakery for a while now. Their croissant sandwiches are literally to die for. Their chocolate croissants are pretty good too and most of the things they serve are great to be honest. My only complaint is they open at 8 AM, and I don't know if it was before Covid but they used to remake their baked goods at 4 PM. Now they don't do that. Their stuff runs out super fast so get stuff while you can. I think there might be a new manager because somethings got taken off the menu, such as their cinnamon rolls which were very good and their lemon sparkly drinks. still will continue to return though! And the people working there are very nice and helpful and good with recommendations.
Be the first to ReplyI visit almost everyday.
Staff is always a delight, ALWAYS! Even new team members, everyone is pleasant. A joyful and yummy experience! Thank you for being consistent! heartheartheart
Be the first to ReplyI also want to continue shopping at this bakery but at this
I also want to continue shopping at this bakery but at this point I don't really have much of a reason why anymore.During covid they were amazing. I bought my fresh pasta, sandwich bread, milk buns for decadent weekend egg and cheese sandwiches and every so often as a treat their delicious large brioche loaves. Would go every week and 1/2 for a new loaf of bread. Unfortunately, all the breads I used to buy have been discontinued as well as their sausages (that I also used to buy, and the brownies which I stopped buying cause I wasnt a fan of anyway...maybe other folks had the same idea? Anyway, they're discontinued too.) I've tried other breads to substitute the pullman (ex filone, micca, ciabatta) but haven't found a good straight up sandwich version that isn't super crusty. Try slicing the crusty micca loaf at home - it leaves a huge mess. Bakery doesn't offer pre-sliced or slicing service, which would be nice - but will cut a loaf in half for you for what it's worth.Positives: - Croissants /chocolate croissants. 5 stars- Fresh pasta. 5 stars I understand they have downsized their offerings to more popular items, hopefully some items that are missed by locals and neighbors will make a come back. Unfotunately At this point we aren't a match anymore.
Be the first to ReplyWalked inside and was greeted with smiles all around.
The 5 bakers were kneading the dough and making exquisite carbohydrates. Orders a coffee and a focaccia bread. Savory. Soft. To die for. The focaccia olive bread is a MuST! My cousin got the almond croissant. Sweet. Buttery. Also delicious.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing sourdough breads and croissants.
But hands down, my favorite is their hazelnut cookies! They were absolutely perfect, full of hazelnuts, not too sweet with a crunchy exterior and perfectly balanced taste profile. Will be back. Again and again.
Be the first to ReplyI have always loved this bakery.
It is one of the hearts of the neighborhood and it managed to survive the pandemic by quickly pivoting to providing provisions. But something is going on here now and I am not quite sure it is for the better. Perhaps the bakery has a new manager? The whole environment is much more uptight and the selection of baked goods are suffering. The new chocolate chip cookie is boring and bland. I was intrigued when an ingredient was listed as sourdough but I will never try it again. The scone and sticky buns are gone, the focaccia seems to only be the plain kind, the offerings have become sparse and kind of soulless. It breaks my heart to write this, I love this place, but even the hightop tables and stools out front are a terrible idea, they lack any of the Saraghina's character and are just generic. I hope the owner will take note of this feedback and actually try and turn this around.
Be the first to ReplyBeen coming here since they first opened.
Dope spot. Good stuff. My only one complaint is every since "Quarantine" the line is quite ridiculous. And this isn't racist but every since the two, how can I say this "woman of color" ? Stopped working the register it's gotten worse. Can we get them back. It's like the other employees don't notice the line with 1000 people outside. Can we get a better system? Just saying...
Be the first to ReplyThis little neighborhood spot used to be great.
I met a friend there today, and I was a little embarrassed. First off, it was my treat, but I needed the receipt, and it took almost 10 minutes for them to figure out how to retrieve my receipt. I guess it was amateur hour in there today. Secondly, the coffee was cold, and everyone working behind the counter was scowling, frowning, and grumpy. The almond croissants were ok, but for all the hype, I want to leave singing this place's praises, not feeling rejected by hipsters who should be really happy to have a job at all. I won't be back. You're not the only bakery in the neighborhood anymore, Saraghina. Get it together, or lose more customers.
Be the first to ReplyI love everything here.
Seriously. In particular the olive bread and olive focaccia. They could not be improved at all. If you love the restaurant you must try the bakery! But please don't take the last olive bread; I still need my supply thanksssss

I was a fan of Saraghina Bakery pre-pandemic, and then they kept me from having to make my own bread or pasta during our shelter in place period, so they have become my go-to. I usually stop in twice a week, sometimes more when I'm grabbing treats on the go.I used to stop in for treats and snacks to bring to parties, now I treat myself--the almond croissant is a fav, as well as the chocolate chip cookies and anything with lemon curd. The sandwiches go fast (and seem to change seasonally, which I don't mind) but if you can grab one, you're in for an excellent lunch. The tuna is my favorite, followed by this eggplant situation I have now lucked into eating twice. There used to be a BLT but that might have been a pandemic menu option. They also sell homemade sauces, like ragu (meat or veggie) and the best pesto I've ever tasted. There's an assortment of home good items, like canned fish, jams, dry pasta, and the like, as well as fancy cheese and dried meats for your cheese plate creations. And how could I forget the most important thing: the bread. My favorites include the sesame bastone (perfect for sandwiches and snacking), the flax and sunflower seed micca, and the focaccia and it's cute cousin the focacella!Stop in for a bite, for lunch or dinner inspo, or for a treat. So glad to have this bakery in the neighborhood!
Be the first to ReplyI can't believe my bad luck with this place.
I hate giving bad ratings but it's because I am a regular and I have had enough having my order being messed up and just for how this hidden gem has turned into something it should never be: continuous disappointment. Please, please, please do something for it to come back to its past glory!I apologize to the owner in advance because I see what he did there, opening a place that serves high quality bread and high quality pastries, as a French I am so so grateful for this. I used to brag to my French friends and family that you can proper croissants and pains au chocolat in the US and it was because of places like Saraghina Bakery. But here's the thing, when you have high standards and high prices you can't let the standards go down and the prices still be up!It means you have to insure consistent high quality. Insure it no matter what.I have countless stories where I was disappointed, it's almost a family joke at this point. The other day, it was the over-baked chocolate croissants. (in France, it's so sacred to provide the quality and consistency you need this batch would have been thrown away, it's how serious they take messing up over there and the pressure on the baker is high, DONT PLAY AROUND AND MESS WITH THE OVEN! Don't miss the timer! That's one thing, that other day I got the chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat) and a ricotta danish, both over-cooked and dry. That was last week. But today, I ordered a croissant sandwich, which already you have to wait forever in line before they sell out, lining up with people I usually never see my neighborhood (probably people from Bushwick or something) to later arrive home all eager to bite into my $6,50 croissant sandwich (with cheese and ham) to find it cut in two with guess what NOTHING INSIDE!! Is this a sign from the Heavens for me to just cut on carbs forever?! Maybe...Now, come on!I really have to write this because it should be a wake up call when your most loyal customer is fed up. Despite never knowing what I will get, I still used to go because I hoped it would be fine on that day, pushing my luck, but then these little moments like that make me wonder if I should just stop altogether. The new non regular customers will probably never know. No one reads Yelp anymore so, maybe it's fine after all.I live in this neighborhood for more than 6 years, I have known the neighborhood without a Saraghina Bakery and just when the restaurant opened I was often in here prior to making it home, I hope it means something.I care about my local businesses and about hard working and creating people and was so grateful to have a place like this nearby, but now it feels like a heart break honestly.Edit: we returned and they at least gave us a full one, no one had a clue who it happened.
Be the first to ReplyIf you want to avoid a long wait, make sure you come before
If you want to avoid a long wait, make sure you come before opening. The bakery is very small and only allows three people in at one time due to COVID restrictions and honestly, there's not enough room for many people anyways. The selection is amazing here. Besides their incredible selection of baked goods, they have so many options for cheese, charcuterie and even pasta. They had so many different things, interesting jars, sauces, I couldn't decide! I went basic and got their regular croissant which was fantastic. Wish they had an option to have it heated, but I enjoyed it on the spot and it was delicious anyways. Their restaurant is right next door and I highly recommend it!
