Sapore di Mare Miami Reviews from The Last Year
È proprio come mangiare in Italia! Oh, sorry, thought I
È proprio come mangiare in Italia! Oh, sorry, thought I was in Italy for a second there... this place is absolutely legit! I just moved to Coconut Grove and I'm thrilled to have this gem so close by. I can't express how amazing my seafood with spaghetti was! The broth is worthy of just stopping and thanking the ocean and chef for the combined effort and skill to bring this dish together. Then there's the pasta itself which was absolutely perfect. Not just "Al dente" as everyone knows it should be, it was a beautiful color and the perfect chew. The dish also came out blazing hot and kept its heat while my partner and I enjoyed. She had the short rib ravioli and I could tell from the first bite that she went to heaven, actually, make that Tuscany! The other thing this place gets right is the warm, inviting hospitality that is at the core of Italian culture. Well done, Sapore di Mare... e auguri!

A nautical themed restaurant in Coconut Grove that never
A nautical themed restaurant in Coconut Grove that never disappoints. Every time I go I get a consistent experience. Service is great and the food is always fresh. They have daily pasta and seafood specials with a rotational menu. Be sure to start with their bread. Their fresh baked focaccia with olive oil is amazing. I've been for both lunch and dinner. I highly recommend their pesto rigatoni. For a seafood/pasta option, try their classic Tagliolini Al Sapore Di Mare which has cherry tomatoes, mussels, clams, shrimp, and tender calamari. Their squid ink pasta is also delicious. They also have Cacio E Pepe which is off-menu and is prepared table-side. So good.
Authentic Italian in the middle of Grove.
What took me so long to try it?! Simple but warm ambiance, very well prepared meals, huge (HUGE) portions and impeccable service. Note to self not to over order next time. You can easily share an entree and one appetizer can cover 3-4 people.
Totally outstanding restaurant.
Top quality food, service and overall experience. The fried calamari was top notch. The cold cut special with burrata was amazing the for the main dish I had the squid ink with scallops and cherry tomato pasta. This was over the top. A+++++++. Spectacular restaurant. Highly recommend this place in Coconut Grove.
This place is truly a gem, and if we had more time we might
This place is truly a gem, and if we had more time we might would've even considered dining here twice. We had a date night here our first night and started off with the mussels and the tuna appetizer as well as a bottle of Amarone Della Valpolicella. The wine is one of our favorites and they decanted our bottle which was icing on the cake. The two appetizers were really the only disappointment of the night, hence only 4 stars. The tuna appetizer had little to no flavor and the mussels had several bad mussels in the bowl. For dinner I had the lobster ravioli which was truly out of this world and my husband had Cacio e Pepe which was one of the tastiness yet simplest Italian dish we've had in a while. We sat outside, it was a perfect night, and had the best service all around. For desert, we had a second bottle of Amarone
Always a good timewith great food and attentive waitstaff.
Love this place! Go there!
We had a rez for 8 the day before Valentines and the place
We had a rez for 8 the day before Valentines and the place was very busy. We saw the hostess and they took us to the back of the restaurant where they added more seating. The two servers back there seemed weeded and we weren't attended to for a little bit, to the point where we had to ask for at least some water and menus or to move inside. They didnt have anything available inside so we sat and waited to have service. The owner I think said we could have dessert on the house for being ignored which was very nice. We knew once we were attended to there would be great service, but were unsure why we kept getting walked past. After that, all was well! The food was divine as pictured! We shared a glass of cab, house wines were a little pricey all around $15 a glass, because we were really there for the food. The bread was amazing as well as my partner's dish, the oso bucco ravioli, not pictured. I'd love to return and try more of the menu!
Great food and ambiance.
Would recommend to friends and family. Service is good. Went on a weekend and they got me in fast without a res
Best Italian restaurant in Miami, best manager
The best Italian restaurant in Miami. Real Italian food and Italian vibes, not to mention the Italian manager; he is very professional and he really knows what he does; the way he takes care of the customers is unique, every restaurant should have such professional employees.
Very professional manager, the best restaurant in Miami
The best restaurant in Miami and definitely one of the best in the US. Finding a place with real Italian food (not places with Alfredo pasta, pasta with meatballs or other American versions of original Italian recipes) is very difficult. In particular, the manager is one of the most professional people you can find in this field, in the US, in Italy and outside. His knowledge of food and wine is unbelievable, he takes care of all customers in a unique way.
Food was good.
The nutella biscotti desert was delish. Service could use improvement. Lots of waiting and uncertainty with directive but everyone was very sweet! Will try again.
Horrible service
Went there for the 3rd time on February 9th, cause the food is amazing but the service this last time was horrible. I already knew what I wanted to eat, cacio&pepe with trufles, but the server Sophi was rude and told us that we needed to order more food cause it wasnt enough. In the end, we couldnt eat the whole food, we left half in the plate. We did not tip, cause she was rude the whole time. When leaving, she pushed me while walking out of the restaurant and told me that the tip was not included in the bill. I told her that we did not like the service and she told me that it was mandatory out of respect. I ended up feeling forced to tip her. I didnt have any cash left so I paid with my credit card $40 tip cause it was the cheapest option ( 18%). I love the food but sadly will not be returning again because of the service which was not good at all.
Not worth the Hype or Price.
As a Grovite, I have always wanted to eat here based on the word of mouth. I finally went this past Saturday. Restaurant was bustling and alive and the service was very friendly and attentive. As of the food... I found it was well portioned but over-priced. We had the grilled Orato, for $50 which was tasteless and fishy. The salad was good but not exceptional for the price. If 2 people share an entree and a salad and each have a glass of wine, then I think $175 seems extreme.
A hidden GEM In Coconut Grove, Miami! The BEST Italian seafood outside of Italy!
What a wonderful surprise to find this hidden gem in Coconut Grove, Miami! . I went there with my daughter, Christi Tasker, who is a candidate for City Commissioner in District 2 and we had THE most amazing dinner from beginning to end! The calamari was Superb- in true Italian style and my Papaardelle Al brazato with lamb shank was divine! The service and attention to detail was first class. At one point I closed my eyes and was transported back to Italy!
Superb scallops, freshest fish and perfect pasta. A winner all around
Don't let the location fool you, this place is the real deal. Excellent and wicked fresh seafood, oysters, clams, scallops- everytihng top notch. Friendly family style service no pretensions allowed.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
