Great find and we will be back
We happened upon this sushi restaurant one night and it happened to be a really good find that we’ll remember for next time. We started off with edamame and BBQ short ribs. The ribs were delicious, although they had fat on them that could have been trimmed off first before serving since it was a worthless part of the dish that we had to spit out. We ordered the Bronco, Dragon Fry, and Tahoe rolls. Then we ordered another of Bronco and Dragon Fry rolls. The sushi was fresh and the service was excellent. The ambiance of the restaurant was good and there were plenty of tables to sit at. We will be back.

Service was really slow. I had to keep asking over and over for the same things.
Sushi was bland and skimpy. Everything tasted the same.
I wouldn’t go back.
Best happy hour in Tahoe
We found this place by accident looking for Happy Hour deals. The timing is great as it is from 5-6:30. $5 appetizers, $3.50 hand rolls, $6 special rolls. We had the tempura which came with 2 shrimp, the tofu and bunch of hand rolls and sushi. Price was much less than if we had done all you can eat. The hand rolls are a fantastic deal. The jalapeno roll is one of the best things I have eaten ever. We loved sitting at the fire table. We liked it so much we came back another night just for hand rolls.

Whoever asnwered the phone wouldn't let me make a pick-up order. I asked if we could come down and place an order and take it with us. She was so rude and said, "you don't understanstand, I can't take your order". This is on my birthday at 3:18pm. We will never go there again as we were frequent patrons.
Be the first to ReplyGood sushi
My wife and I decided to try something different for a sushi dinner.
The establishment is clean. The parking can be an issue if there busy, which they were. The menu selection is good with some good daily specials. The fish is fresh and good quality.
The reason I didn't give them a better rating is the service, good service but not friendly at all. I didn't see one employee smile, not even once, no thank you, no pleasantries. It's an easy problem for management to correct, hopefully they will.
I'll go back.
Bad service
Got takeaway on 10/27/18. Young male waiter treated the locals fine but the same was not the case to a visitor. All I can guess is that as a takeaway order he was unlikely to get a tip so was happy to ignore serving me.
He needs take a leaf out of the way the Japanese do things.
Excellent sushi
Excellent sushi, some of the best in the area! The beef soup with glass noodles was to die for! The service was severely lacking, but overall would recommend because the food is just that good!

I have been here many times over the years. The sushi is excellent! Im always happy with my orders. The service is good and friendly. If you have not been here it is worth a try! Today I tried the sashimi dinner , see picture.
Be the first to ReplySushi in South Lake Tahoe!
One night we decided to eat Sushi, after asking around the recommended this place, for starter this place is small and cozy, after we were seated my son asked the chef what would he recommend because he is a big Sushi fan and the answer he got was just read the menu! that didn't go well with my son because it was very unprofessional, we ordered few items and the service was quick, the only Sushi roll we really liked was Tahoe roll, rolls are so small that fells like they are trying to save money, Food was Ok but will never go back, i guess if you go to mountains for skiing the last thing you think about is a good Sushi place.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best Japanese Restaurants I have ever been too
I have been to alot of Japanese Restaurants in my life and lived in Japan for 25 years. The edamame was delicious and a great starter. I ordered the Chicken combo with Tempura and Gyoza, The chicken teriyaki was good i have had better but the gyoza was well above par and the Tempura was fantastic, I requested daikon oroshi (japanese radish) which can be added to the Tempura dip and it had the perfect zing for me. Mind you i haven't had daikon oroshi for 3 years since being back in Canada so my taste buds came alive after dipping the Tempura into the dip. Maybe not for the average person but worth a try only dip a bit in the sauce to try first. In Japan its on the plate automatically. The miso soup was tasty as well,
Be the first to ReplyTasty Japanese Food
I not too much on sushi, but the wives insisted we go. So we shared a California roll and I had Tempura. Both were very good. Food was fresh and tasty. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. We arrived early enough to beat the crowd, but it is a popular place and starting to fill up as we left. Apparently the Happy Hour is Mon-Thur; we were there on Friday and were told that it did not apply.
