Rolf and Daughters Nashville Reviews from The Last Year
Five stars for Rolf & Daughters! This James Beard
Five stars for Rolf & Daughters! This James Beard Nominated chef is innovative and creative! Run, don't walk, here! The decoration is modern and welcoming. The bar area is simply classic! The ingredients are sourced using items found just a few short miles of the restaurant. Much of the items used to create the dishes are sustainable. You can taste the freshness. First, let's start with service. The amazing server Stephanie & GM Stevie were amazing. They were helpful throughout the meal and made it a five star experience. Please give these ladies a raise! Service Grade: A++ We had 4 appetizers & 2 main dishes to share. Dry aged beef tartare, ramp, parmesan, new potato. What a fun dish beef tartar served on a baked warm new potato. Grade: A- Stracciatella, sungold tomato, prosciutto xo. They make their own Stracciatella cheese in house. Cheese stretched thin like noodles and topped with farm fresh tomatoes! Grade: A- Green tomato, fig, squash, celery, yuzu. A very creative & contrasting mix of local veggie gems! You can taste TN in this dish! Grade: B+ Cucumber, peach, pine nut, basil, fish sauce. Creative dish, well prepared. Appreciated the effort. Honestly, this dish wasn't my favorite. Agnolotti, sweet corn, jalapeño, lime. This dish was one of the highlights of the meal! Fresh local corn made into sweet pillows of deliciousness! This is a must have dish! Grade: A++ Heritage pork, blueberry, rossa di milano onion. Locally raised pork cooked to perfection. Flavorful pork paired with blueberries & onion. Delicious! Grade: A- We had two desserts: Plum Sorbet. Super refreshing and bright sorbet made with a local stone fruit. Great palate cleanser after an amazing. Grade: A- Peach amaretti ice cream with olive oil. This was a second highlight of the meal. I wanted to lick the plate! My eyes rolled backwards after the first bite! Served with a side of Heirloom apple Amaro. The perfect pairing, suggested by GM Stevie! Grade: A++ We ended the coffee, that was served in local made Japanese tea cups! We were blown away at the customer service of Server Stephanie and GM Stevie. They went above and beyond to make it an amazing culinary experience. Thank you Ladies! The food here is creatively made, locally sourced and fun to eat! Overall impression: A
Favorite restaurant in Nashville! This place is a crowd
Favorite restaurant in Nashville! This place is a crowd pleaser. Every out of towner I have brought here is so impressed. All the dishes are so unique and delicious. I am never disappointed. The interior is so cool and well done. I miss this place so much.
If you're reading this in the summertime .
.. let it be your sign to go to Rolf & Daughters ASAP for their mesmerizing Agnolotti. I saw the photos of this sweet corn pasta masterpiece on Instagram, and knew I had to experience it firsthand. This dish is only available for a limited time ... but I feel it's my duty to recommend it so as many people as possible get to enjoy the perfect flavor combo of sweet, creamy, and a little spicy. This was our first visit to R&D, and it won't be our last. We arrived on Friday evening right when they opened, and were happy to grab a pair of seats at the bar. Their website states that they do save a few seats for walk-in's each night, at either the bar or their community tables. We even found FREE street parking right across from the restaurant - which is always a win in Germantown. One of my favorite parts of sitting at the bar is that you get your drinks before everyone else. We sampled our way through a few cocktails, and most enjoyed the Farm Stand. The Smoky Eye was fun as well, albeit a little strong for my taste. R&D's menu is small, but it rotates daily, so you'll want to taste as much as you can during your meal. We kicked things off with an order of Sourdough Bread and Seaweed Butter, which was a fun, green-tinged salty spread. The bread was warm and crusty, perfect for an appetizer. We also ordered the Stracciatella, which was topped with juicy tomatoes and crispy prosciutto. I almost wished we'd had some extra bread to dip in this dish ... but it was great on its own too. For our entree, we ordered off-menu. Our bartender/server Tanner let us know that the chef had a few extra halibut collars that evening, and if we liked fish, this was a can't-miss dish. We couldn't agree more. The portion size was HUGE, and the fish was tender, flakey, and full of flavor. If you get the chance to enjoy this unique cut, take it! And speaking of the service - Tanner and the rest of the bar staff took great care of us through our meal. You already know how I feel about the Sweet Corn Agnolotti ... so I'll skip to dessert. We split the Amaretti, which was some vanilla ice cream topped with an almond cookie topped with a cooked peach. This may just be the perfect dessert. It's not too sweet, and offers all sorts of fun textures, making each bite a bit different. We also sipped on the Flintlock Pistol cocktail during dessert, which was a fun, fruit-forward pairing. I am already planning a return trip to R&D before Agnolotti season ends ... and if you've made it all the way through my review, I suggest you do the same!
Had reservations, but walk ins are available.
We opted to sit at the bar. We had reservations on a Tuesday evening. We wanted to start off enjoying a cocktail and then order food. However, our server told us that since it took time to prep the food (30 minutes to be exact), we should order at that time. Mind you, there were plenty of open tables. We reluctantly ordered and to our surprise, our food came out almost immediately (before 30 minutes was up). The pastas were good, but i would choose the pork over the snail next time. Personally, I prefer snails in garlic and butter. Overall, the setting was lovely with brick and wood. The food was good, but the service was not as I would have expected. I felt rushed with my food and drinks rather than being able to enjoy the experience. To conclude, when we left, there were still plenty of tables available. Food: 4 Service: 3 Ambience: 4
Great people and great employees.
Our waitress had great insight on the menu who was very helpful. But in terms of food, I had a 200 dollar steak and all I could think about was what I was going to have for dinner. Homemade pasta carries this restaurant in terms of quality. IMO, stick to what you do best instead of having overpriced mediocre meat.
Amazing meal.
Fantastic service and innovative delicious dishes. Wish we could stay in Nashville to eat here again.
Ever wait staff we talked to on our trip to Nashville,
Ever wait staff we talked to on our trip to Nashville, "RAVED" about the food at Rolf and Daughters. It is tauted as the BEST ITALIAN IN NASHVILLE. We now concure. We were told, no reservation, no service, period. After a full court press, reservations were secured at 5:15 on a Saturday. We dressed up and were off to find this legendary dining spot. After driving by 3 times, (they have no sign), we were able to find them in Germantown on the bottom floor of a building. You enter to a darken inside with high energy throughout. The excitement is growing. Our reservation was first available and we were seated in an outdoor courtyard. Our waitress (Stephanie) was sweet and made suggestions on how to order here. She did not lead us astray. Did I mention, Italian is my least favorite cuisine. The beet falafels were incredible and flavor packed, could of eaten 15 easily. The unique twist and flavor made you smile. The cucumber and fresh peach salad blew the doors off. Fresh, light, tasty and outside the box, great job and would love the recipe for these two. The anchovies with lemon spaghetti was over-powered by the lemon and I love lemon. The chicken was incredibly moist, mostly de-boned and served in a lemon / garlic confit. It was very good and tasty. We were lucky to get in at Rolf and Daughters. The menu changes daily depending what is locally available. The chef has a playful soul and a knack for pairing ingredients together for a delicious result. If you are planning to go to Nashville, call ahead and make reservations. A fun and delicious evening was had by all. Thanks for a lovely evening, Rolf and Daughters.
Drinks were not bad.
Food was interesting. On the experimental side of things; some very interesting flavor profiles. However, we left wanting more from an Italian joint. Ambience was cozy and serene though.
This place is worth all the hype it gets.
The food is always so fresh and unique. The vibe is perfect for a date night or girls night. Yes pricey but a worthy experience. Definitely recommend.
Delightful little restaurant with a large communal table in
Delightful little restaurant with a large communal table in the middle and smaller tables throughout. Plus outside patio seating. The bar was lively and the drinks, oh my! Unusual combinations that blend perfectly with each flavor distinct to the taste. Try the Farm Stand. Our server describes it as summer in the garden of Eden and I have to say, that was an apt description. Also the smoky eye with Mezcal and other unique flavors all coming together nicely. The food was delicious. We took the servers recommendations and had the straticella or hand-pulled mozzarella. Heavenly. The fusilli with a bright tomato sauce and summer garden flavor was so yummy. The rhubarb sherbet with camomile jelly was unusual but absolutely divine. Reservations are required as it's a popular place. Looking forward to a return visit!
Incredible food, service, and ambiance.
This is right below my fiancé's apartment and they are always such a good date spot. Deserts are great too!
A Nashville staple for a reason! Any time I am hosting
A Nashville staple for a reason! Any time I am hosting guests, I bring them here and they all say it is their favorite meal of the visit. Great service and great seasonal pasta.
Words cannot describe this meal.
What a diverse menu, and each item with different notes that are equally interesting; the perfect combos of bites!!!! My standout dish was the rigatoni pork ragu, it tasted like an Italian Nona had made my dinner and boy I wish I didn't live in LA!!!! (Or that they could deliver it to me here!) Come here, that's it. Awesome service, simple but intimate ambience, and one of the most unique menus out there. Shared 4 dishes and a dessert between 2 people!
Recommended so had to try
Went with reservations on a Tuesday evening. Wanted to sit and have a drink, but rather than allow us to do that… we were told that we should order since food takes time for preparation: 30 minutes to be exact. We reluctantly ordered and to our surprise, the food came out almost immediately. The pastas were good, however, I would have chosen the pork over the snail. The snails taste much better in garlic and butter with bread. Overall, the setting itself was lovely with brick and wood. The food was good, but the service was not as great as other places. I felt rushed ordering drinks and food rather than being able to enjoy the experience.
I highly recommend lemon chicken.
It was well seasoned and cooked. The service was great as well. I also liked how it wasn't as crowded as other popular restaurants (it seems like they don't overbook/double book the table).
Charming & smallish.
Super friendly, if a bit high-energy waiter. Awesome menu options, albeit it small. Wanted to try several. Trout was wonderful prepared with a well-paired sauce. Squash appetizer unique & tasty. Pasta was out of this world. Wine by the glass is over-priced & small pour. Expertly crafted cocktails.

The food was tremendous, the staff was attentive, and the atmosphere was warm. Highly recommend the sourdough with seaweed butter, the penne ragu and the duck kale tagliatelle.

I took my parents here when they visited Nashville, and let me tell you - some of the best small/shareable plates I've ever had! Although their menu is on the pricier side, the complex flavors offered on the Rolf and Daughters menu make it worth it. The ambiance of this restaurant is cozy, modern, and sophisticated. In other words, if you are looking for a high-end restaurant with a memorable meal, this is the place to go! The few times I have been to this restaurant, the service has been amazing. All in all, Rolf and Daughters is one of my favorite places to go for a special occasion.
Over the top fantastic.
Food. Wine. Cocktails. Service. Pretty sure this is my favorite restaurant in Nashville. Julian was professional, friendly and offered super solid choices for our meal. We loved it here and cannot wait to come back.
Made reservation online in advance.
Parking was easy on the street. Seated immediately. Service was immaculate. I dined at the bar, as a party of one. Ordered the house shrub - delicious, I recommend. The sourdough was good, I didn't care for the seaweed butter. The sweet potato dish was tasty but not overly visually appealing. In fact most of the dishes were not (visually appealing). The trout seemed overly sauced with bernaise. The mulberries on the chocolate tart were yummy. The highlight of the evening was the conversation at the bar. Met some wonderful individuals, some also traveling solo and we had much in common.

The ambience is unfussy but sophisticated, casual but elevated. We sat at a shared table but didn't feel crowded. My friends had already been here and sang the praises of the food, but unfortunately we were all disappointed that night. The trout was fine, well prepared and rich without being heavy. The bread was good once you were able to break through the nearly burnt crust. The pasta dishes we ordered were so salty it felt like we had chemical burns in our mouths. One of my friends is very polite and ate it anyway, while the other waited for the server to check on us to maybe get something else. The server didn't check on us until the end of the meal, at which point the one friend didn't want to make us wait and so didn't order anything additional, and didn't want to take the pasta home since it was all but inedible. The restaurant was kind and didn't charge us for that pasta. Maybe it was an off night, but based off this experience I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone looking to impress.
Disappointing
The food was very good but disappointed in the wine we were served for dinner. We only ordered a glass for each of us (5+oz - $15.00 p.gl.) and as we drank it, we noticed lots of sediments at the bottom. We told our server who only apologized. Not good for this upscale venue.
One of the best meals ever! Highly recommend!
This restaurant was the highlight of our trip to Nashville! We ordered several small plates and a couple of pastas, and every dish was better than the last. The oxtail fusilli was honestly one of the best dishes I've ever tasted in my life. We'd made reservations the day before for a communal table and mentioned it was my husband's birthday. Upon arrival at the time of our reservation, we were seated immediately, and they had upgraded us to a private table. The service was prompt, and the server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We just wish we'd had more of an appetite to try some of the entrees and desserts. We will return on our next trip for sure!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
