In the labyrinthine lanes of Paris, there exists a culinary sanctuary that goes by the name Kei - a Michelin 3-star gem that doesn't just dazzle; it orchestrates a symphony for the senses. Stepping into Kei is like unraveling a secret. The entrance, subtle yet deliberate, gives way to a dining room adorned with mirrors that reflect not just the opulent decor but the essence of an extraordinary dining experience. The Prestige menu at Kei is a masterclass in gastronomic finesse. We opted for the black truffle add-ons, a decision that elevated the meal into a realm of unparalleled decadence. Black truffles on dessert may sound audacious, but in the hands of Kei's culinary wizards, it was nothing short of alchemy. The flavors danced on the palate, leaving an indelible mark of sophistication. A serendipitous encounter unfolded when our server, a maestro in his own right, procured a wild pigeon protein course for us. The dish was a revelation, a testament to Kei's commitment to sourcing exceptional ingredients and transforming them into culinary poetry. Service at Kei is not just about efficiency; it's a friendly embrace that makes you feel like a cherished guest. The staff's warmth is as impeccable as the precision in each dish. In the realm of Michelin-starred dining, Kei stands tall, not just for its gastronomic prowess but for the genuine hospitality that infuses every moment. Jonathan Gold once said, "Good food is very often, even most often, simple food." Kei challenges this notion by demonstrating that extraordinary food can be both complex and deeply satisfying. An evening at Kei is not just a meal; it's a voyage into the sublime, a testament to the harmonious marriage of culinary artistry and heartfelt service.

Three Michelin Stars in Paris / Kei||| A friend recommended this three Michelin star restaurant before my family and I left! Kei restaurant opened in 2011 and has gone from one to three stars. The Japanese chef Kei Kobayashi is very young and is said to be the first Japanese chef in France to receive three Michelin stars. Very tasty and recommended!

Beautiful presentation of amazing tasting food. The restaurant decor is wonderful too.
Be the first to ReplyMemorable lunch at KEI.
All dishes were exceptionnally prepared, with very interesting flavors and textures. Impecable service. I believe the place wouldn't loose anything by being less formal. The food experience itself is enough. We got to meet the Chef afterwards. The staff was very nice - I definitely recommend and hope to be back.

My friends and I were lucky enough to get a reservation a month in advance for a weekday lunch. Upon entering the restaurant, the service was impeccable: the staff took our coats and shepherded us to our table in an elegant, almost minimalist, dining room. The meal itself was beautifully presented, with Japanese and French influences. The highlights for me were easily the Parmesan amuse bouche, herb foam with lobster and caviar and sorbet, and the mouth-watering miso encrusted pigeon. While the others in my party loved the famed Garden salad, I thought it was a bit heavy on the cream dressing. The desserts were beautifully made, especially the chestnut meringue - but I have to admit meringue itself isn't my favorite. At the conclusion of our meal, they allowed us a photo op with the chef, and sent us off with a signed copy of the menu and some house made caramels.Overall, the Kei experience provided a fantastic and lengthy meal that left me lethargic at the end, but impressed and satisfied with how I spent the afternoon.

In early-February 2020 my husband and I went to Paris on vacation for our birthdays and Valentine's Day and during our trip was looking for a unique fine dining experience to celebrate. And we found that in Kei Restaurant. Making reservations a few months out was easy and they were all so warm and welcoming. Please know the restaurant has staff that speaks both French and English. This meal should get way more than 5 stars, as it was that amazing. The courses were works of art and the fusion of French and Japanese cuisines blew us away. Actually a week or so before our visit the restaurant received its second Michelin star -- very well deserved!! When things get back to normal and if you find yourself in Paris, Kei Restaurant is a must visit. It's that incredible.

This is one of the better Michelin star experiences I've had around the globe, having eaten in a number of places. The services were attentive from all the servers, every dish was excellent and the chef was also accommodating in serving me main courses from the different tasting menus. The pigeon was my favorite, along with the sea bass fried with its scale. Even the goat cheese dessert took me by surprise in its lightness and flavors - I don't usually like cheese and yet I appreciated the dessert. Well done chef!

Also, wine pairing suggested by sommelier was brilliant. On the top of that service was incredible. They are able to read your mind:) What else do you need more? Definitely recommended.

Obviously, there's a reason they're rated the way they are. From the amuse bouche all the way until the dessert, nothing was short of perfect. They were so accommodating as well - the main course for the night was pigeon, which I winced at. The second choice was pork tataki, which I unfortunately couldn't bear the thought of as well. Thankfully, they suggested a third option, a chicken dish they can replace it with. I felt bad since I'm sure chefs have their agendas set, but was glad they were able to accommodate. They have four menu options and no a la carte choices at all - the discovery menu, the tasting menu, the tasting menu with truffle & aged beef, and finally the truffle tasting menu. We opted for the tasting menu, which took a bit over 2 hours for a total of 9 courses. Each course seems tiny, but we were both stuffed by the end. By the 5th or 6th course, we kept looking at each other, "is there more food...?" Thankfully the last 3 were palate cleansers/desserts. Overall, such a fantastic experience - thank you to the chef & staff for making the night memorable!

We've eaten at some great restaurants, even francescana a few months prior. Kei blew us away. Hands down the best of all a restaurant can offer up and down the menu. It makes you smile just thinking about it. French service is the best service is the world, it's not even close and Kei is the creme de la creme. I wish this place the best it should be the top restaurant in the word.
