A roulette experience for food allergy, a disaster service, and to top up - charged for tapwater
A restaurant with the standards of Bobergs matsal must treat their customers with more care than this. I would advice you to choose another middle to high end restaurant in Stockholm. There are plenty of atmospheric and nice old world locales around the city. Our waitress had severe difficulties to rely orders to the kitchen. There were at least four major wrong servings during our two course meal with coffee plus avecs this weekend. There was no gesture of excuse but instead avoidance from the waitress. The kitchen and other staff such as the hostess must have noticed what took place, but no one said a word. Our party of six ordered one gluten free pre course (toast) and one normal toast without onion. In comes three gluten free toasts and two without onion. after a retake in comes two gluten free toast with a plea from the waitress that one without gluten intolerance should eat a glutenfree toast because the kitchen staff was angry now. One of us ordered beer through the meal, but the waitress instead served red wine to all. She served us water and mixed still with gas at her own pleasure and charged us for three servings of tapwater. On top of this - We contacted staff beforehand to help prepare them for one person in our party with severe allergy to all kinds of onion and garlic. For the pre course toasts then - unmissably onions had first been placed on this toast and then removed before serving. This will make a severly allergic person nervous to get sick. And the potato pure with the main course to the allergic person was served with chives on top. After all this - and we are patient people with understanding that mistakes can happen - we were given no apology and no gesture of excuse. No verbal excuse and no simple treat for example to water or a coffee. So - my recommendation - choose another restaurant than Bobergs Matsal. If something goes wrong, and that can happen, they have no tendency at all to turn the customer experience.

Bobergs, inside NK department store, is operated by Bjรถrn Frantzen, who also operates two (!!) different restaurants who have been awarded three Michelin stars. And you can tell. This was with good margin the best lunch I ever had. Probably most expensive too but absolutely worth it. For 55 EUR you can get the Meny Ferdinand, a weekly updated 3 course menu which for our visit started with an amazing duck liver mousse with plum chutney, served on a grilled brioche. Then salmon quenelles, in white wine sauce and with spinach, and for dessert a pear tarte with ice cream. We also tried their delicious lamb tartare and a highly recommended blueberry sorbet that was unlike any sorbet I ever had, totally different texture and a palette of flavors that build up until the intense blueberry flavor hits you. Every dish we had was spectacular, service perfect and all in all a meal to remember. When the only thing that wasn't impressive was that we had to wait a bit long for the (very good in itself) coffee you know just how good this place is. The food at the nearby 3* Restaurant Frantzรฉn may be better, but I doubt it can be seven times better, making Bobergs excellent value to boot.

Boberg is such a strange thing.
Christmas at Bobergs is even stranger, but in a good way.
This was Christmas number two.
All i served are in small portions.
The lowest level is Very Good and at its best it is absolutely amazing.
Situated in one of the most beautiful rooms in Stockholm it almost demands perfection.
Service works perfect.
But then lets get back to the food.
This is not the really the Swedish traditional Christmas food.
Well it contains the same things but tastes so much better.
If a crash course in Swedish Christmas food is desired this works pretty well.
But you will keep getting disappointed on every other occasion after this.
This was the best this far.
Actually better than the first one at Boberg's.
But then there was the fish and the Burgundy wine..
The wine (Yes i love Burgundy) was one of the best I have had for a very long time and together with the fish this was kind of 2,5 G.M. Stars or something.
The dessert was unfortunately not for me, but then I am a chocolate man and there was not enough percent in it to for me to like it.
My wife loved it and my guess is that that goes for the other 99% of people that is not just like me.
Coffee was good and yes to finish off price/performance was very good.
We will probably be there again next December if the world do not totally collapse.
The only thing that one can add really was that the distance between the tables lacked one meter to be safe.
Most tasteful - both the mouth experience as the interior
Lovely lunch restaurant. Always busy but with a subdued atmosphere. Elegant, classical, beautiful.The A la carte is always, always delivering on top level. Some classical Swedish dishes, some dishes with a touch. But always excellent. Nice and attentive servants.A true favorite where I keep coming back to.
