Not good!
All the dishes were too salty. We couldnโt enjoy the very expensive food! The steak was well done instead of medium well.
Be the first to Reply5* great service! Steak was a 4*
Really good service. I would give that 5*. The steak (bone-in NY strip) was cooked very well and as ordered (medium rare), but the was very irregular. It tasted well, but probably had to let 40% of its total weight return (bones+tendons). Again, service was top-notch, so that part deserves a 5*

This is an excellent restaurant in downtown Cleveland. The setting is nice, the drinks are strong, and the food was first rate. I would happily return.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible Customer Service
I've been here a few years ago and the service and food were really good. Things have really gone downhill here. When came here recently, there were two hostesses at the front--a blonde and a brunette. The brunette was very pleasant and let us in the restaurant a few minutes early. The blonde complained loudly that she was tired and needed a shot. When the restaurant opened at 4:30pm she was eating snacks at the hostess stand. Our waiter was not very good. We brought up the issue about the blonde hostess and he never got the manager. I noticed later in the meal that a long brown hair was in my water (that I'd been drinking the entire time) and the waiter did not alert management nor do anything to make this right. I brought these issues up to one of the managers, Toni, via email. We spoke on the phone and she was defensive, she made excuses for the poor service by the hostess and waiter instead of apologizing for them, she was flippant, unprofessional and combative. Her actions and tone made it clear that she was agitated with me, did not care about my business and had no sympathy for the poor service that my husband and I experienced. Worst of all, she took NO responsibility for what happened. She clearly does not have the skillset to handle customer issues. Needless to say, we will not be back.
Be the first to ReplySomeone took my umbrella!!!
I went to the restaurant today and someone took my umbrella from Coach. The service from the entrance clerk and the manager was horrible, they didn't do anything and they also didn't let me see the camera footage. The employee at the entrance was extremely unpleasant and even shrugged his shoulders to say that there was nothing he could do. I made a reservation at 9 pm through Open Table. I do not recommend!!!

Cozy and delicious! Steak was excellent. Everyone's steak was cooked perfectly. The staff was very attentive. This restaurant is steps away from the casino. Good time in Cleveland.
Be the first to ReplyDonโt Eat Upstairs
Went here for a romantic birthday dinner and we were very disappointed. The food was ok, not great. The service was about the same, ok, but nothing special. Besides being over-rated, our biggest issue was the ambience or lack thereof. We were seated upstairs where we ate on metal folding card table with a tablecloth over it. Chair was an uncomfortable metal chair with padding but no arms. There was no decor and it was just a bunch of these folding tables awkwardly put into a non-descript room with nothing on the walls. Considering youโre paying for a $70 steak in Cleveland I expect much more. Definitely wouldnโt eat there again and advise against doing so. If you do go there insist on a table on the ground floor.

It's been awhile, but consistency is clearly the standard. Ryan was awesome, so were the stuffed peppers and the oysters. Very nice wine selection. EXCELLENT experience from the greeting at the door, to the service, to the food to the atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyOK but not outstanding
This review if based on the observations of myself and a business colleague, he has regularly gone to the restaurant over a number of years. I had asked for him to take me to a good steak restaurant and as we could not get a table at The Marble Room we ended up at Red Downtown. The waitress and reception staff were friendly and we were swiftly seated. We had the bread with dipping oil as a quick starter, it was very good with a nice blend of cheese, herbs and spices to go with the oil. For mains we ordered a filet and a New York strip steak, accompanied by a side of shrimp cocktail and the brussels sprouts. Everything was well prepared and very good quality, we washed the food down with a bottle of Rodney Strong Cabernet which was OK but for the price not outstanding. At the conclusion of the mean we shared the doughnuts. The food was generally fine, but the restaurant also had its disappointments, notably the absence of creamed corn or spinach on the menu (I would have though the latter should be a staple at a steak restaurant), the greater surprise was the fact that it was not possible to have a cappuccino at the end of the meal (requested by my colleague, I know it is a morning drink!), I find it shocking the restaurant had not facility to make such a staple of the restaurant trade. So OK, but i suspect when i am next in Cleveland i will eat elsewhere.
