Excellent food and unusual atmosphere!! Our waiter Brandon was a gem. We had elk ( fantastic!) and corn pudding and Brussels sprouts ( yummy!) we elected the crème brûlée and I’ve never had bettter!! It is located in the Grand Bohemian hotel in Biltmore Village. You might elect to make a reservation here after a day visiting the Biltmore Estate.
Beautiful Dinner experience
This place is definitely worth it. Very good service and delicious food. My husband and I, we cleared our plate, the glasses of wines we ordered, paired well.

Complete fluke, this restaurant is located in the Grand Bohemian Hotel. Absolutely incredible, ventured way out of the comfort zone. Tried Kangaroo / Elk / Bison / Prime Rib, all were insanely delicious. The meats were ordered on the rare side. Keep in mind this was over two nights. Exceptional service by Alena, dynamic young lady. The goat cheese bruschetta was the absolute best I ever had. The goat cheese was the perfect consistency, with hints of lemon zest and honey. Perfection!!! I would rank this in my Top 5, been privileged to eat at everything from a Michelin ranked to James Beard recipients. I know food and wine, this will definitely be a destination restaurant in the future. Well done Red Stag - only a matter of time before others find you!!

Let me give you some context: went for our anniversary, traveled an hour to get there as it was the only fine dining spot found within an hour's drive where we are staying in WNC. The bill was $315 not including the $70 drinks at the bar (that's only 2 a piece). Not complaining about the price in the slightest, although it could easily be argued even for the establishment it was pricey but they were all generous pours, we've paid this before in comparable establishments and bar tenders were great mixolgost and genuinely engaging. The one star is for them and the drinks the other for the food and the server. The hostesses is who soured our special night but no one should experience the following on any night , anywhere. We were concerned about traffic so we got there a half hour early. She let us with us genuine frown that could not be turned upside down by any anoint of smiling or engagement by us. She argued with us about not having a reservation and insisted we look it up by the number and not the name like is conventionally done. Granted I was off by 15 minutes as I had it as 6pm but she acted like n she could not find it anywhere and gave us daggers the entire time. I thought for sure this was a prank as even. At the most rustic mom and pop, we have never encountered a host or hostess as mean as cat sh*t as she. I assume she had a something negative happen well before we got there but still she I the "face of the organization." I noticed one table was set and the rest of the place was empty. I asked if it would be possible to sit a little early and instead of professionally saying no she just became hostess marine drill sergeant and barked at us that we could only sit in the lobby or at the bar until our reservation. I honestly thought she misheard my question as she misheard the spelling of our last name and the number in our party so I asked again in a different manner to which she barked louder and completely stone faced the same response. I truly thought I was in an alternate reality at this point. We are seasoned eaters at all types of restaurants, both nationally and internationally and this was definitely a first and will be THE last. Note food prices online do not necessarily reflect what is on the menu Or the way the bill is broken down. They need to update and rethink the software for the checks. However, the server was great and commensurate with the establishment and the food was cooked to perfection. I had the bison filet and my husband had the ribeye. Although it was cut thin for most people and by chop Josie standards it was cooked to requested temp perfectly and marbling and seasoning were fantastic. Octopus was good but needs work (not better than mom and pop Greek restaurants I've eaten it at.). Beautiful establishment but dark, nice feature is they backlight the menus. If you are going to treat yourself (and certainly the reviews are encouraging ), I'd just call ahead to make sure that they've installed a new host/ess unless you're a sadist and you like that kind of thing. Never again.

The service and atmosphere are fine. It felt a bit dark for me. Portions are very small and it's expensive. I'm glad we tried it but I probably wouldn't go back. The desserts were delish!!

Awesome Brunch Experience
Nice selection of options on the brunch menu. We got the omelette with potatoes and the Southern Breakfast (two eggs your way, bacon and sausage, stone ground grits, and a biscuit). Tea and coffee to drink. I asked for a side of sausage gravy and some hot sauce to go with it. Everything was super fresh and sourced locally. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and creamy inside and tasted like they were fried in sausage grease. The bacon and sausage were super good and some of the best I have ever had in terms of flavor and bite. Would eat here again for sure.
Absolutely Wonderful
We chose this restaurant for our Anniversary Dinner. What a great time. The staff is awesome, the food amazing, and the hotel itself is a true gem in Asheville. Located across the street from the Biltmore entrance, it is easy to find. They also offer valet parking for their dining guests.

This place was absolutely incredible!! The second we stepped inside we were greeted by massive elk taxidermies and beautiful leather upholstery. The chairs were all either couches or armchairs. I felt Like a Viking lord. Also, I have never eaten such heavenly food in my life. I tried my husband's elk and it was just as incredible as my buffalo. We decided to get the mashed potatoes and I have never eaten such creamy, well seasoned potatoes in my life! The waiter was fast and friendly. I told him that I am new to alcohol and really wanted something that I could enjoy, but I haven't been finding things I like. He recommended one of the summer cocktails, and it was the best alcohol I've ever had. He was spot on. The food came out quickly.

Lovely restaurant!
This restaurant was recommended by a friend, and we are so glad we went! My mom and I shared a meal and it was perfect. They do have strange things on the menu so I recommend checking that our prior to making a reservation. I would say the dress code is business casual but we honestly saw people in all kinds of things. It is in the Grand Bohemian Hotel and valet parking is free so take advantage of that. There isn't a good public parking lot close.
Delicious food and friendly service
We have been at this restaurants two evenings (May 26 and May 27) and this already tells how much we liked it. Our waiters (Andrea on May 26 and Elena on May 27) were most helpful and knowledgeable and the food was just excellent. Our favorites were the soup (spring onion), bison tenderloin and bruschetta with goat cheese. I would also mention delicious bread service.

I began with/ a delicious Moscow mule & the bread board. My companion & I both had the bison tenderloin with the addition of grilled asparagus & Yukon mashed potatoes. The vegetables are a la carte but worth it! We were too full for dessert! Our server, Ryan, was attentive & gracious. This was a five star experience.

My husband I were on a road-trip from the Midwest to Charleston, SC. We stopped in Asheville for the night. Red Stag Grill was within walking distance of our hotel. We were seated at the bar and Kylie was the bartender. Kylie was so helpful - answering our questions and making suggestions. I'll start with dessert - pecan carrot cake was amazing and Kylie's suggestion. They've raised the bar very high for desserts!! When I told Kylie that, a man from the other side of the bar asked what we had. We started with Everything Bagel Beignets. They were delicious and very filling, but we still had room for dessert! We also had pulled pork sliders, which were great. Loved Red Stag Grill and and can't get back soon enough!

Love this restaurant! Great ambiance, charming 2 seater tables along the windows are my favorite. I always bring my out of town guests and the love it. Food is excellent. I always get the breakfast burrito and French toast appetizer is divine!

Menu has a varied selection of different meats. The elk was a favorite of ours as was the flounder. Flavors and textures of the main courses was delicious. Dessert was wonderful! Pecan carrot cake. Compliments to the staff and chef.

This was our first visit to the Red Stag Grill. Overall, a nice experience. We thought the food was of high quality, the atmosphere pleasant, and the service was good. Our only problem was that we both ordered hamburgers done medium - and both were very rare. Kind of a bad miss there. The good news is that they took them back - and, while waiting for their replacements, the kitchen sent out another serving of the appetizer we'd ordered (delicious calamari).... so the response to the issue was very good. We'd dine here again.

Came for my 31st wedding anniversary as a surprise so I didn't know what to expect. The best Pros: the Pecan Carrot Cake was great! The service was good, the ambiance was great!! That is where the greatness ends. The second star was for the cake. We both ordered the Lamb shank. It was fall off the bone but needed more salt. I substituted the fingerling potato's for asparagus and they were undercooked and not seasoned. The meal came out quick but mine was like warm and was cold before I ate 3 bites. My husband's (no substitution) was perfect for him, nice and hot. We had a side of smoked rib Mac and cheese which had no seasoning to it other therthan the smoke from the meat. I wanted to try the filet mignon but saw that it could be a hit or miss. Now I'm just ready for dessert...somewhere else.

A really wonderful and delicious dinner! The staff was so welcoming, and our hostess Elizabeth was super-helpful and even recommended the pork chop (with a blackberry and juniper sauce!), which was outstanding, as well as a truly amazing carrot cake! Our waiter Brandon was just great, and service was so prompt and attentive! It’s not often that restaurants give their staff the opportunity to taste the food, but seems they do that here, and results speak for themselves, as made clear by Elizabeth and Brandon, who both clearly love their job. Small things make a big difference, and I definitely give Red Stag Grill two thumbs up 👍 👍!

Went here for my 25th birthday dinner while visiting Asheville for the week. Ambiance is absolutely phenomenal, valet outside took lovely photos of me and my date, the host was very welcoming and had a great personality, and my S'mores Winter Night cocktail was delicious. We started with the whipped lemon ricotta and we both really enjoyed it as it was light while still hitting that pre-dinner bread feel that so many of us love. For the meal we ordered the truffle fries and asparagus as sides (highly recommend both) and we split the Wagyu filet as it was whopping 14ounces. (Now, for context, my family had recently had several celebrations as well as the holidays so I had very recently had both a wagyu steak and a petit filet from other very nice steakhouses and I was always pleased.) This "wagyu", however, I HIGHLY doubt was in fact a Wagyu filet. There was a significant amount of chewy fat all along one side (my date estimated probably at least 4-5 ounces, although her side was overall quite fatty and chewy) I understand some people enjoy the fatty bits and my girlfriend usually does as well but this was not enjoyable to eat at all and unfortunately a lot of it went uneaten. I will say my half was definitely better because I got first pick as birthday girl, but in paying for a 14 ounce steak, you expect at least almost all of it to be edible without possessing literal canine teeth. Our waiter stopped by to ask if we needed anything but never asked how the food was or questioned why so much of it had gone uneaten. Honestly we were overall disappointed in his service because he really had no personality and made no genuine effort to make us comfortable. Which is partially why we opted out of saying anything about the meal, I would not be surprised if our appearance (two young women) made him think we were not worth the effort and/or would not know any better. To top off the night, because it was my birthday we were told we could get one free dessert. After deciding on the creme brûlée, my girlfriend snuck away to give a few candles to the host to surprise me. To HER surprise, the server brought 1. The creme brûlée, 2. The molten lava cake, AND 3. The carrot cake. He said "I was handed 3 candles." Very nice gesture..... until the bill came and we were charged for the creme brûlée (which just so happens to be the most expensive of the three). To me, that was distasteful and rubbed me the wrong way. We did not want 3 desserts (again, we are two women), we weren't even going back and forth between options we settled very quickly on the brûlée, and we ended up paying for the only dessert we actually wanted anyway. Other than regretting going here in the first place, I really regret not asking to speak to the manager. Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I were very set on having a nice and pleasant evening so we both refrained from saying anything. I loved Asheville and I'll be back to town but this place did not at all live up to the expectations and I will not be returning.
Cool vibe
The staff was very welcoming and courteous. We ordered pork bellies, mussels and roasted chicken. Everything was delicious. I really love the cool decor and ambiance. After dinner we sat by the fire and strolled through the gallery. We will be back.

Attentive preparation, satisfying tastes.
Very nice meal with attentive and discreet service. We shared calamari, lobster bisque, and the wagyu steak with a side of creamed spinach. Calamari was super light with a spicy sauce, very, very tasty and savory. Lobster bisque was tasty but rather thin; we anticipated a creamier base. Wagyu steak was beautifully cooked; we could have inhaled it, no chewing needed. Two people with a cocktail and a glass of wine, $240, tip included. Very nice complementary dessert for birthday celebration. Overall, a very satisfying meal.
So sad Red Stag has changed
We have enjoyed dining at Red Stag for several years and it was at the top of our favorite list. Our opinions changed after dining there a few evenings ago. In the past, the server would bring us a lovely and delicious platter of bread and it came with the meal. Then, the restaurant began charging for bread service, which was okay. During our recent visit, we added bread to our tab and it was virtually inedible. Tough and tasteless and definitely not worth the $10 charge. The trout dish I ordered was a disappointment. We ordered carrot cake and chocolate mousse for dessert. The carrot cake serving was one third of what it used to be and the mousse was microscopic. In the future, we will simply stop by for a drink in the beautiful bar and look to dine elsewhere.
While the hotel is wonderful, don't eat here
As we were staying at the hotel, we ate both dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was the bread appetizer which is basically a loaf of bread for $10 that most restaurants include with dinner. Dinner was their lobster bisque which tasted more like tomato soup (which they also offer.) Drinks were just ok - rather weak. So, the bread, 2 bowls of soup and 2 drinks were around $80. The next morning we had coupons good towards breakfast so one of us ordered the eggs with sausage, bacon and biscuit. Eggs were cooked well but sausage, bacon and biscuit were all overcooked. I ordered the ham and cheese omelet with a biscuit instead of potatoes. The omelet was horrible and I found no cheese in it. Both sides of the omelet were mostly brown (grossly overcooked) and had no seasoning at all. The biscuit was over cooked. I've had much better omelets on cruise ships. I would not recommend this restaurant at all.
Mixed feelings
First the good: The braised lamb shank was excellent along with the carrot cake. The collard greens were good and a nice sized portion. They were able to split the salad so it gave a nice amount to each person. Three others at the table had the trout and were happy with it. Now the bad: Brandon our waiter seemed inexperienced and wore blue jeans. I would expect more appropriate clothing when working at a high end restaurant. The mashed potatoes were barely warm and the apple cobler was cold and didn't taste that great. It was a good move not to charge us for those items. Overall the prices were somewhat high, particularly for the beef and drinks.

I selected Red Stag for our anniversary meal because we wanted something a little different than the usual suspects on the menu and Red Stag certainly delivered. The ambiance is dark woods and classy hunting lodge with some cool and funky bohemian art choices. I started feeling a bit unsure when I was pursuing the cocktail menu.... The descriptions and ingredients were straying very sweet which is not my preference. Luckily my off menu favorite French 75 was perfect and the sip of my husband's pear cocktail was surprisingly balanced. We ordered the elk carpaccio to start and this was a dish that felt tailor made for me. Thin, melt in your mouth pieces of elk with crispy fried capers I could've eaten a jar of. My husband said it reminded him of fancy deli roast beef, but he's married to me, so he's proven his lack of taste. After discussing with our waitress, we went with the Kangaroo and the elk loin. Nervous? Don't be. They were both amazing and the kitchen served them to us family style so we could share. I really liked the flavor of the Kangaroo meat, I felt it offered something very special. It's a longer chew, which led my husband to favor the elk, which was more tender. The sauces we chose were the demi glacé, which I found paired best with the elk, and the blackberry juniper jus which I loved with the Kangaroo. We also added horseradish cream but I wouldn't recommend this; it was too subtle for my preference. For sides we did the truffle fries which were fantastic and the collard greens which were fine. I didn't get any smoke from the pork and they had no spicy bite, but they were well cooked and nicely tangy. Our big miss was the dessert menu which suggests there is no pastry chef on site because it is unimaginative. At our waitress's urging we tried the carrot cake anyway, but I found it inedible. The taste of raw flour was very strong. My husband took it upon himself to finish it for us, so that worked fine. All in all a very nice, unique experience with a few things that could use touch ups to really make it perfect. I could see recommending this spot to people who are really into game-meat for a special meal.
Brunch was definitely not worth the money .
If you get eggs Benedict ask for more Hollendies sauce in the side. Dint get the beneights (spelled wrong) , they were terrible. Breakfast burrito was good but not out of this world. If the prices are so high I expect excellent food. Dinner at this place is great.
Great Valet Service
The grill was wonderful! The valet is the best. The two valet attendants were spectacular. They were efficient, friendly, and Johnny on the spot! We highly recommend the grill and once again , the valet attendants were fabulous!

Came here on Christmas for dinner as one of the few places open where we could get a reservation. The ambiance is nice and the server was friendly. The food was fine but overpriced for what it is. Neither of my dishes were what I was hoping for. The lemon whipped ricotta starter comes with little toast slices that are crunchy like croutons and I was hoping for a nice baguette (crust in the outside but soft on the inside). I was told the cat h of the day was Chilean sea bass but what I was given was definitely too fishy and had skin on which is something I've never seen when ordering this particular fish. It tastes more like trout. When I mentioned it to the wife he spoke to the kitchen and apologized that I was served striped bass not Chilean sea bass. They offered to make it right but our reservation was for 8:45pm and at this point it was about 9:30pm so I was not going to wait for a new dish although I appreciated the offer. They did offer a complimentary dessert and we chose the creme brulee which was good. Overall I was just glad to have somewhere to dine on Christmas but likely would not return.

I have been local for 3 years now and when I first got here the food was pretty good. I was raving about the Yukon mashed for months after my first experience at Red Stag. I have seen the quality go down significantly since that day. In the last couple weeks I have been there and spent upward of $350. It just wasn't worth it. I had the wagyu ribeye a week ago and it was as ordinary as a regular ribeye for $116. I had a side of asparagus that was just steamed, bland, nothing to it. I went back tonight because it was the only game in town being it is Christmas. I had the elk loin, which I have had before. The last time I had it It was years ago but it was cooked well. With a bit of a sear. This one came out like it had been cooked in an oven. I also ordered a butter poached lobster tail. It was the size of a prawn, came out with no drawn butter and it was plastered to the shell to top it off, I was charged $50 for it. The straw that broke the camels back was the Yukon mashed potatoes came out nothing like I had remembered, They were basically mashed with a little butter, not seasoned and it is reason I will never go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone I know. Go to Ruth Chris if you are staying at the hotel. It is one of the only independently owned of the franchise and they get it right, every time.

Cocktails were delicious. The restaurant is gorgeous and there is a little shop with artwork and jewelry right outside by the lobby. Valet is available. The booth was very comfortable. Greta place for a celebration. Make a reservation especially if during the holiday season!

I ordered the medium 8oz Elk, and it was very tender and juicy. Not game-ee at all, and would highly recommend to anyone celebrating any occasion. Drink menu was very good as well. Also! Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
