Some would say it's the best pizza in the area.
It's indeed good. Funghi is a popular one and my favorite. We had another one with tomato that was also popular (don't recall the name) but it was not as unique.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service.
Quite the hidden Jen in Jersey city. I had wished my drinks were a tad stronger but the pizza was amazing. Started off with the meatballs which literally melted in my mouth. The atmosphere was great, lots of different groups and I would love to return just to hang at the bar. Table was a bit small but we managed to get everything on there without spilling.
Be the first to Replyi'm giving two stars because the service was very good.
everyone was friendly and we got our food without much wait; however, the pizza itself was lacking in flavor. we got the funghi and santo; for the santo, there was no spice to the chilli oil and the tomato sauce had no seasoning to it. it seemed like we were eating pureed tomatos. the funghi was a bit better purely because of the flavor of the mushrooms, but it was dry because there was no sauce. overall, both pizzas were dry, burnt and unflavorful. i would not come back here and frankly, i've had better dollar slices in the city.

Amazing, highly recommend! The salted caramel panna cotta was one of the best desserts I've ever had. The pizzas are delicious and the menu has a great variety. Service was excellent!

I would give this amazing pizza spot 5 stars if they didn't keep your credit card hijacked to hold one's reservation! Fortunately we got seats at the bar on a Saturday evening and had some really awesome pies. We tried the margarita and pepperoni pies and the meatballs - all were perfect!! We love the service and wait staff, very friendly! Coming from New York it's hard to find decent brick oven pizza but this spot serves up a pie with a smokey crust and savory flavor that hits home! There could be a little more cheese on the pies but the sauce is just sweet enough that compliments the whole pizza. Someone please tell the owner to stop forcing patrons to give their credit card for reservations. Very discouraging and you'll get customers even if you don't follow this rule (which should be against the law for all businesses!!)
Be the first to ReplyGreat pizza.
The meatballs are also incredible. Post renovation plenty of room and easier to get a table than it used to be

Everything was amazing! The meatballs, hazelnut pizza, margherita pie and the bread and butter were all unreal.

Had to try this place after hearing so much hype and glowing reviews. Let's start with the positives. Great ambience and service. The meatballs and ricotta were good, and the pizzas were reasonably good, but I was not blown away by them. They reminded me a bit like Nomad Pizza in Princeton/Hopewell. The pepperoni pizza was my favorite and had a fair amount of topping, and the margherita was OK. The guancia (with a meat that reminded me of prosciutto) was unique with its aromatic cheese, but the amount of thinly sliced meat topping was stingy vs. the price. It seemed like there was 1 slice of the prosciutto-like meat spread across the pizza. Bottom line: it was worth trying, but I don't plan on returning.
Be the first to ReplyThe best --- somebody feed Phil inspired wife and I to go .
.. great service - friendly staff and amazing pizza .. each pie has unique and creative toppings ..can't wait to go back !!!

Freshly made very good pizzas, the vibe and service is great too. We had Calabrese and fungi pizza. We liked fungi better.
Be the first to ReplySoooooooo good! Razza has been on my list of spots to try
Soooooooo good! Razza has been on my list of spots to try for so long, but as the poor planner that I am, I never think to make a rez with enough time, anddddd they never have anything free. Luckily I turned a year older which means someone else made the (surprise) rez and I celebrated 31 with great pizza, wine and panacotta. Upscale pizza is the only way to put it. You could come in jeans and sneakers and a sweatshirt or a little on the dressed up side and fit in either way. The space is so cozy and nice and now I know to try to get a couple seats at the bar the next time I want to come in without a rez, I am sure I'll get luckily with a little wait time. Our waiters were so friendly, let us take our time, made suggestions, all around great. For appetizers, we started with the ceci (chickpeas in olive oil and parm) and the kale caesar. Ceci was tiny and tasty! And as a chickpea fan it was a nice little app. The dressing on the kale caesar was pretty perfect as well. I ordered a little side of bread to scrape of every bit of olive oil and caesar dressing that I could. On to the pies. I am a sucker for a red pie and a white pie on the table so we got the funghi and the burrata pies. Funghi was incredible, and if you are a mushroom lover like me, you need it. The burrata pie was also a winner. There were so many tasty pies on the menu and I cannot wait to get two new ones on the next visit. Anddd lastly dessert! The pannacotta (new to both of us) was so good. Like a delicious custardy flan. Oh and the bottle of wine we got was just *perfect*. Thanks for a great bday din, Razza!
Be the first to ReplyThe menu could be a little more diverse.
I love the ambience however if you're gonna cap me at 90 minutes this is not the true Italian experience. What are you willing to sacrifice in a sea of typical American cuisine. Wine is god.

Delicious and consistent from the meatballs, to the funghi pie and the crème brûlée to top It off! The service is impeccable all around but I must shout out Steve Logothetis on his knowledge, passion and attentiveness!
Be the first to ReplyGood evening good people of the yelp universe.
Soooo I took my family out for some dinner this evening. My girlfriend suggested Razza. Their pizza is really good. But Jesus 16$ for shredded kale and ceased dressing. Incredibly over priced. No cheese, no seasoning, nothing. Very bland and not worth the money.

Everything at this spot was awesome Our server Sean P was very attentive and friendly. One of the best service teams we've seen a a restaurant in a long time. Everyone on the team was accommodating, and really on their game. The food and drink was fantastic as well. Definitely lives up to all the hype. Great restaurant, food and staff.

As a self proclaimed pizza eating pro and lover, this is truly been the best pizza I have ever eaten. The crust was a perfect blend of crunch and fluffiness while maintaining perfect structural integrity. The flavors were spot on from sauce to cheese to toppings. My only problem was not having enough stomach space to order all their pies! Also, you need to get the bread and butter. Worth the cost for something that is often free. An added bonus was that Phil from Somebody Feed Phil was casually eating dinner with family when we were here on a random Tuesday!

I tried booking for four people a month out and was not able to get one. Tried emailing and calling numerous times with no response. We ended up booking two tables for two people and they managed to squeeze us together when we got there which was much appreciated . We started off with meatballs, sourdough, and kale salad. It was all good but the pizza was fantastic, especially if you like thin pizza. Extremely light, we split three pizzas (pepperoni, margherita, burrata) among four people and no one was really full after. Not the best pizza I've ever had but very good and glad I tried it out
Be the first to ReplyWe had an amazing time at Razza.
We had a 6 pm reservation but showed up early. We were able to grab a drink at the bar and it wasn't too crowded yet. Drinks were delicious- Sergio was a great bartender. We were seated and had wonderful service throughout the night. We started with the polenta, meatballs, and butter flight. The bread was phenomenal!! Everything was so good! Next we had an amazing off the menu calzone that had phenomenal flavor -clams, leeks etc. next was our pizza course. We got the margarita, the santo and another that I can't remember - all the pizza was so so good! Dessert.. of course. Tiramisu was phenomenal- and I don't even like tiramisu ... You literally can't go wrong with anything at razza - highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyHaving heard about Razza many years ago I finally made it
Having heard about Razza many years ago I finally made it cuz they didn't used to take reservations and the wait was often over an hr. The servers were nice and attentive. My party of 6 shared apps. The ceci (chickpeas) was pitiful and kale Caesar salad boring and bland. Meatballs w/ricotta were tender and tasty. Polenta must've been a fine milled corn cuz it was creamy and delicate. It was topped with a mushroom ragu that complimented it well. We got 3 pizzas, burrata, funghi and pepperoni. The pizzas run small and each feed 1-2 people only. The crust was thin, chewy, just the way I like it and the toppings were quality ingredients. Everything was pretty pricey tho. The rest of my party were happy with the pizzas. We got the special clams and garlic confit "calzone", which I do not recommend at all whatsoever. They tent pizza crust over a dozen clams in their shells. It was very hard to eat cuz I had to tear apart this scalding steaming pizza pocket by hand and get the clams outa their shells. The top of the so called calzone is plain dry pizza crust. The bottom part of the so called calzone is wet and soaked through with clam juices and copious amts of roasted garlic. Stick with the tried and true pizza.
Be the first to ReplyMade our reservation super in advance.
Food was good, but definitely seems overhyped.
Be the first to ReplyService is great and the ambiance too.
That's where it ends. The pizza from here has been overrated. Even for Jersey pizza it's mid at best. Overpriced. Small. Lacks flavor. I can name way better pizza that's priced more reasonably. It lacked so much. Definitely no reason to go back and have told people how mediocre it is. The tiramisu is delicious so a star has been added.
Be the first to ReplyPersonally my favorite pizza joint in Jersey.
I never have a chance to take shots of our food because we immediately scarf it down. Glad that they expanded their restaurant by the time we moved back from Seattle. Always get the bread and butter, meatballs, and sometimes order a pizza or two depending how hungry my husband and I are. Service is great - I personally like eating at the bar area and watch them make drinks. Good spot to take friends out of town or date night.
Be the first to ReplyI heard about Razza from the Jersey Girl newsletter, and
I heard about Razza from the Jersey Girl newsletter, and was curious to try it. The pizzas are expensive in an attempt to target the demographics of downtown JC. That's fine, it is not a charity. The average price for a pie of pizza is $26 for what could be an personal serving...Maybe 14"? The price is in line with the establishments dotting the downtown area. I ordered the "funghi" pizza and the core was delicious, but the crust was bitter and burnt. It was not the thick soft crust you see in a Neapolitan pizzeria. The bitterness ruined it. The rest of the menu looks yummy though, so I will give it another try but not pizza. The meatballs look promising. Their website clearly mentions that there are no walk ins. Reservations are mandatory through the app Resy. Alternatively you can order for pick up through Uber Eats. I would reserve because the location is cute.

I tempered my expectations given the hype, but it's easily one of the best pizzas I've had. Service is also professional and attentive.
Be the first to ReplyOur friends in Jersey City told us about all the great
Our friends in Jersey City told us about all the great things they were reading about Razza, so we knew we had to go on a recent visit. We easily made reservations online for 4 of us on a Saturday night. It was a dark and rainy night, so I can't speak much to the exterior of the building, but Razza was easily accessible by foot. The space is pretty small inside, but it feels intimate rather than cramped. The ambience is on par with the intimate feel - it's very modern and clean with mood lighting and a great view of the pizza oven. It was a Saturday night, so it was busy and a little loud, but to be expected. Our server was attentive enough to us throughout the night, and he provided helpful suggestions as we asked, which is always appreciated. The menu is compact, telling me that what they do make, they make well. I have no qualms with this since it makes decision making easier! We started off with beer on tap, pleased that they had a variety of local options. Based on Yelp reviews, we split the meatballs with ricotta and the ceci. The meatballs were tasty - the meat of the balls themselves were standard fare, nothing too crazy, but I did love the meld of the flavors with the ricotta on top. The ceci were also pretty standard - we make a lot of chickpea dishes, and I feel like this is something we could easily replicate, so it lacked that "wow" factor. Of course, the pizzas are what brings Razza it's fame, so we were excited to try a few. With the help of our server, we opted for the santo with sausage, onions, and chili oil and the eggplant supersalt with fresh moz, eggplant, ricotta salata, and basil. The crust was perfectly crispy to my liking and had the right touch of char on it. The flavors of the santo were a tad better than the eggplant - while the supersalt was a unique addition, I felt like it was missing some flavor. Maybe if the eggplant was more roasted, the flavors would have stuck out more? I did love the addition of the ricotta salat (not something I see often on pizza) and the fresh basil, though - a very fresh pie! The sausage on the santo was nicely flavored, and the onions and the chili oil provided a nice sweet and spicy balance. It was well done! Despite my slight criticism, the pies at Razza did deliver and we enjoyed them! I had my eyes on the Di Natale, but no one in my group was as interested in the raisins and pine nuts as I was ... so we'll have to return another time! The prices for Razza are reasonable, ~$20-25 for a pie that serves 2 people comfortably and that sources fresh local ingredients. The quality is certainly high, and I love that they use seasonal ingredients to make unique pies. I would definitely recommend Razza for anyone in NJ looking for a solid Neapolitan pizza, and I would love to make it back to try more items!
