🙂 4/5 - Hmm, I have mixed feelings about Porto.

I'll start with the positives: 1. Such a beautiful interior. I can't get over how pretty the restaurant is, and photos and videos truly don't do it justice. I can tell a lot of thought and planning went into building the perfect ambience. Even the furniture is so beautiful. 2. Plating!! I'm such a sucker for beautiful plates and plating, and Porto does fine food so, so, so well. It was painful to take bites because every plate looked like a literal piece of art. 3. Service. Everyone is incredibly attentive, and you can also see and taste how passionate everyone is about the food that they serve. My friend and I had the pleasure of sitting at the chef's table, and we even spoke to the mastermind behind Porto! The passion really shows, and it makes me feel all the more engrained into the experience. Negatives: 1. The food...is questionable. I understand experimenting and complexity of foods, but I really questioned certain dishes and felt like it wasn't a very consistent experience throughout. I had my favorites and stand outs, but a lot of the dishes felt like misses. Either it was too seafood-y, or it felt like they were trying to make ingredients that aren't normally "high-end" or "fine dining" appear as such. 2. Poor timing. We had to wait a decent amount of time in between courses. I don't think I've ever experienced that before at a preset menu restaurant, and I think they could've done better with timing so that we weren't waiting 10-15+ minutes in between courses. Overall, it was still a nice experience. Their drinks are awesome yet strong, but I'm not sure if I could recommend Porto as a must-try Michelin because I've certainly paid less for a much better experience. It's definitely one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been to, and I would probably recommend that you order off the regular menu instead of paying for the prefixed menu.
