Outrageous Greed! $50.
00 Corkage charge! Highest in LA. Basically telling you to leave your Special wine at home. They finally got around to opening our two bottles of wine, after asking numerous times and never came over to keep our glasses full. Overall, the Food was delicious. We found our waiter named "Rooster" was quite aloof as was the majority of the staff. The ownership should be embarrassed and needs to tighten things up with their on floor staff. Overall our experience was average at best. Would we return? Not likely.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food but not seating a party of 6 when 5 people
Delicious food but not seating a party of 6 when 5 people are present is ridiculous and reminds me why I prefer dinner parties at home rather than putting up with such unrefined restaurant experiences.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing fennel sausage pizza.
Very pricey but worth every penny. Pizza size is good for one person, about 4 slices with lots of yummy crust.
Be the first to ReplyA restaurant that doesn't believe in hospitality.
My family went to Pizzeria Mozza and had a wonderful dinner. Great Neapolitan pizza. We wanted a sweet ending. That's when the trouble started. My younger son just wanted some vanilla gelato. Our server explained to us that vanilla wasn't one of the choices for gelato flavors. I pointed out that vanilla gelato was served with the apple crisp on the menu. Could we just get that? Our server said the kitchen saves the vanilla for those desserts. I said that we'll buy the apple crisp, but just bring us the gelato and leave the apple crisp. The server said that the kitchen doesn't allow "substitutions or alterations." I asked to bring the apple crisp, but to please keep the gelato on the side. (Kids can be particular.) The server said they'd talk to the kitchen. The dessert came out with the gelato my son wanted, melted all over the apple crisp he didn't want, because putting it on the side would be an unacceptable alteration. Our server apologized, and said the kitchen's policy of "no substitutions / no alterations" was very hostile. They'd complained to the manager about the policy. It's nice that our server advocated for our needs, but the restaurant failed and ruined a lovely evening. The serving staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The food is excellent. The restaurant is far too noisy for pleasant conversation. But what makes this a 1/5 experience is the restaurant's policy around "no substitutions" being taken to an extreme. A business in the hospitality industry should be willing to work very hard to make a little kid happy with his meal. Putting a simple scoop of the vanilla gelato in your freezer into a cup doesn't require much effort. But to Pizzeria Mozza, it's more effort than they're willing to give. P.S. The restaurant responded to my review, but completely misunderstood the problem. They explained that vanilla gelato really is in short supply, but based on my feedback, they'll make more and put it on the menu for others to order. That wasn't where the restaurant erred in being hospitable. The problem for Pizzeria Mozza is that they won't entertain any request from customers about how to modify dishes. I cannot say, "I'd like the apple crisp, but please put the accompanying vanilla gelato on the side." The construction of their apple crisp is so perfect, so much more important than a customer's wishes, that given those instructions, they're going to insist on dumping the ice cream all over the hot apple crisp. I've dined at three-star restaurants around the world, but never have encountered the extreme pretentiousness demonstrated by Pizzeria Mozza. I hope Pizzeria Mozza re-reads my review and fixes their policy of "no substitutions / no alterations." The problem isn't limited vanilla gelato. The problem is limited consideration for a customer's needs.

Always delicious! Sweet potatoes, salads , bone marrow and pizzas all excellent! Meat lovers is particularly delicious, not too heavy on the meat but just right.

This place was amazing!!! The dinner menu was very delicious and good quality. The service was excellent and swiftly. Our waiter suggested some appetizers that were shareable, and brought us samples of two red wines that we couldn't decide on, and I'm glad he did, because we were all able to choose the best wine that paired well with all our food choices. I came here on a double date, and we all ordered and shared our pizzas together, and it was the best choice to do so. I will be returning!

I've been to Mozza many times from the very early days when I noticed Nancy Silverman in a corner having her chopped salad and checking out the room to just a few years ago. It's always been a treat since I've never had a better pizza anywhere and the other offerings tend to be on the wonderful side of delicious. I enjoy being at the counter with a friend watching things getting made. Friends who have been there on my recommendation become repeat customers even though they might not live in California. It's a great place for locals as well as a destination restaurant. I'm looking forward to dining there again.

It's been quite a long time since we stopped in, but it seemed like a festive spot to take out-of-towners and celebrate my birthday! It wasn't too difficult to get a reservation on a Monday and it was quite a surprise to see Chef Silverton in the dining room! Her daughter and grandkids were there, our server told us. She didn't make the rounds to tables, much to my disappointment, but it was nice to see her there. Our server Clint was very friendly and helpful. Started off with our usual, La Mozza Sangiovese! The food was good, though I remember the pizzas being a bit more crisp and bubbly in the crust, which I miss. We enjoyed the Meat Lovers Pizza and the Croque Madame, which may have been better, to be honest! The Chicken Liver was great, though it seemed a bit toned down, flavor-wise, and of course the squash blossoms are a must! The Delmonico Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. You can never go wrong with the Butterscotch Budino and we also tried the Apple Crisp, which was lovely, as it wasn't too sweet. Coffee could have been served a bit hotter, to be honest, but we enjoyed our meal and our leftovers the next day!
Be the first to ReplyWe had been told the pizza here was extra special.
It was. We had the Alla Benno and the Fennel Sausage pizzas and shared a Nancy's Chop Salad. All three were delicious. Our server was extra attentive in a positive way, he even caught us at the door as we left to say thank you. If you get a chance and want an intimate and romantic pizza dinner, this is the place to go. This is not your neighborhood pizza joint, so be prepared to spend like you're having a nice night out and enjoy! While they say the pizzas are single serving size, you could probably be happy sharing one between the two of you.
Be the first to ReplyGreat pizza, good beer, good service.
The patio is the best option for space...and it's a bit quieter.
Be the first to ReplyKinda good but pretty pricey.
Meat lovers... meat was good but too much sauce made the pie kinda soggy. The flavors on the spigarello were pretty good which is surprising because I don't usually like vegetarian options. All of the appetizers we got were good, meatballs, arancini and napa cabbage. Outdoor patio is cute and dog friendly. Would come back again but be prepared for your wallet to take a hit.
Be the first to ReplyPizzeria Mozza remains my absolute favorite place for pizza
Pizzeria Mozza remains my absolute favorite place for pizza in LA. It's always crowded, so make a reservation if possible, or just relax with a glass of wine and wait a bit. It's well worth it. The restaurant itself is pretty loud, and somewhat cramped, so I don't think it's a great place for big families or group dinners. The service is excellent, but I just don't think it's an easy space to navigate for kids or groups. Truthfully, I've never had a bad meal at Pizzeria Mozza. It truly lives up to the hype. Every pizza I've tried has been excellent, due in large part to the increรญble crust. It's perfect. Crisp, with an almost chewy bite, delicate yet sturdy at the same time. I'm always amazed at their consistency. Every pizza is executed perfectly, every time. They have a changing roster of pizzas based on seasonality. I'm always very happy with a simple Margherita. But my favorite pizza has to be the pizza with squash blossoms. It's incredible! And a side note: order the roasted cauliflower! It's also my favorite and goes great with whatever you have for dinner.Sometimes while I'm waiting for a table, I wonder if I could find another pizza place in LA that I love this much. So far, the answer is no. And when I'm biting into a delicious slice of pizza at Mozza, all doubts fade away. That crust !!!!!
Be the first to ReplyLoved Pizzeria Mozza - the crust of every pizza we ordered
Loved Pizzeria Mozza - the crust of every pizza we ordered was addicting to eat (that's the first time I've ever felt that way!)My favorite pizza of the ones we chose for the evening was the meat lovers, followed by the classic margherita. I feared the meat lovers was going to be too salty but it wasn't too salty for me. The appetizers were also excellent. I didn't think the bread was going to be one of the highlights but it was absolutely deliciousNext time, I've got to try the napoletana
Be the first to ReplyThis place is just pathetic.
.. The outside seating is down an ally in a makeshift wooden enclosure with Home Depot string lights, where they don't have even close to enough heaters. On top of freezing your ass off, it smells so bad behind this building that in between bites of your thirty dollar, wet, floppy, sad pizza, you get to smell the thick, stale scent of dumpsters and sewer wafting past you. It's just completely offensive. Our server, Juan, was not friendly or attentive and seemed like he'd rather get a root canal than say another word to us. At one point he attempted to persuade us into an appetizer by saying the pizzas would take a long time. Not that any of the appetizers were particularly delicious or special and, wouldn't you know it, it took more than 30 minutes for 2 little pizzas to make it to our table. He then was visibly disgusted that we didn't want any of their desserts and, instead, just wanted to leave as fast as possible. Which isn't possible because the valet is going to take forever to bring your car back. I realize that, post covid, everything has basically become a scam but this was a new level of disrespectful and insulting as a customer. Eating here was a borderline masochistic experience. All of the red flags of an awful experience were there at the very beginning and we should've walked. There are charming Italian restaurants all over LA that would appreciate your business and I suggest you go find one of those!
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered caprese the portion is small but good for 2
We ordered caprese the portion is small but good for 2 people, when we ordered caprese the server suggested we order bread, the bread is good but for 4 pieces of bread charged $9 a kind of pricy.Calamari is very good but same the portion is small. 2 pizza , the pizza is personal size, the crest is crispy n taste so good but still pricey one is $27, another one is $26.Overall the food is good, service is good but kind of overpriced
Be the first to ReplyOne star for our server.
Our male server from the outdoor patio section had a snarky attitude. He was less than pleasant. Food was below average. Not sure what the hype is all about. Calamari was over cooked and burnt. Told the server about it and his response was it's fried calamari. Tricolore Salad was nothing special. Pizzas were extra crunchy. I prefer a doughy airy bite to mine so this didn't do it for me.
Be the first to ReplyAmbiance is casual nice and unpretentious.
We had a reservation but preferred to sit at the bar! The pizzas are pricey but worth it! The pizzas are personal pizza sized so that means you can order more with a larger group and try more pizzas!!! We love the crust it's so light almost like a sourdough but it's not. Very unique. Valet only and it's $15 but right behind the restaurant . No cocktails just wine and beer.
Be the first to ReplyNot a lot of veg options last time I went.
They were out of everything I wanted to have. I have had lunch here a couple of times and it was good but dinner was disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyPhil Rosenthal (I'll have what Phil's Having and Somebody
Phil Rosenthal (I'll have what Phil's Having and Somebody Feed Phil) turned us on to Nancy Silverton and boy oh boy were we so happy to finally make it to her amazing Pizzeria Mozza this week while visiting LA. The food was ridiculously good! I had the Brisket, I know I was at Pizzeria Mozza but it called to me off the menu. When our most amazing server Louis asked what we might be thinking of he gave me such reassurance that I was making an unforgettable selection and wow was he right!! But first came out the Burattina Pugliese, it was everything I needed especially since I was not ordering Pizza. The roasted tomatoes and the silky buratta went really well with extra crispy bread. I could have eaten that for days! But then the brisket comes out, sitting pretty on top of roasted broccolini and some roasted leeks on top. I took a bite and the meat melted in my mouth! Not exaggerating at all, it fell apart and I sat stunned for a moment. I did share a little with my beautiful wife in exchange for a bite of her Allo bene pizza (speck, pineapple and jalapeรฑo) usually I am not a huge fan of these toppings but wow!!! The underlying toppings of sauce and cheese were perfect, the crust was so tender and the toppings were so thin and delicate that they did not over power. I was so pleased with those bites. Then we had to do dessert, after all we were at Nancy's place and she is a goddess, so we continued to indulge. I immediately went for the Meyer lemon gelato pie. Best decision! Perfectly lemony, not overly sweet and so smooth. This place is a must if you're in LA!
Be the first to ReplyGood things about this restaurant are the quality of food
Good things about this restaurant are the quality of food and the waitstaff. Fennel sausage pizza and chicken liver bruschetta excellent. A serious downside is the long wait for a table - despite reservations - and the wait for pizzas. A Saturday night reservation was accompanied by a more than 30 minute wait. Ditto for the time required to bring the pizzas. The place is also on the upper end of noisy. If I ever return it will be for an early evening dinner on a weekday.
