fun
Pizza Mozza was fun. The food was great . Service was very good. They have parking. It was on the expensive side. The place was crowded and had a festive atmosphere. We had three different types of pizza and enjoyed them all. Also salads and three different delicious desserts
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced & Mediocre Pizza
Was very disappointed with my dinner at Mozza considering how highly rated it is. Everything is extremely overpriced, even by LA standards it's a bit much. I wouldn't have minded that too much if my pizza was actually good. I had the squash blossom pizza, which looked beautiful but had 0 taste and burnt crust (which I guess is their "style"). I even said something to the waiter about it and he said I wasn't the first to complain about it. The only saving grace for the meal was the butterscotch budino which was delicious. Also what restaurant closes for dinner in LA at 9pm?! I felt I had to rush my meal just so they could close up. Overall save your money & go elsewhere.

This restaurant was fantastic. We ate outside on the patio. My husband loved the pizza with corn and no tomatoes. The appetizers were fantastic especially the squash blossom one with cheese. VERY TASTY. The servers were very nice and really worked hard to please!

Everything we ordered was incredible. Great service as well! We had the Japanese sweet potatoes, squash blossom pizza, meat lovers pizza, and the butterscotch budino.
Be the first to ReplyToo pricey for pizza despite being tasty
Disappointed to be given a table outside in the patio (back yard) on a windy evening. They did bring heaters but they got too hot. Meanwhile the inside of the restaurant looked cosy and was buzzing!! Very good pizzas with fresh ingredients and a good range of options - we had mushroom, meatball, marguerite and Neapolitan but all with a twist. Delicious calamari to start. Didn’t like my olives for starters as they had been warmed up! Attentive service although convinced we were fleeced on the wine (double the expected price). Meal felt way too expensive for pizzas
Be the first to ReplyAn East Coast point of view
East cost Italian here fluent in NY, New Haven and Providence pizza.
The good: home made salame and fennel sausage was excellent. Quality ingredients overall for sure.
The bad: far too soggy crust in middle of the 3 pizzas we ordered; not everyone can pull off Neapolitan style pizza crust, and they didn’t.
The ugly: saltiest pizzas I have EVER had. Every one of the 3 of us thought the same, all 3 pizzas. Was it the sauces (probably), crust, or just all of it? The salt took away from our enjoyment of these pizzas in a very big way.
Very expensive for the quality
Very expensive pizzeria for the quality. Very long waiting to get the dishes, 40 minutes for a pizza. We had a starter with mozzarella and prosciutto...but the mozzarella was not di buffala as claimed. Very loud music, definitely not fir families with kids
Be the first to Replyperfect crust, gracious service
The crust alone is to die for. Airy and crisp at the same time. And then the toppings - decadent. But equally impressive was the vibe. Everyone made us feel as though they were genuinely glad that we were there.
Be the first to ReplyEXCELLENT OUTSIDE SEATING AND FOOD
Several years ago, we had lunch at Nancy Silverton's Laguna Beach location. We promised ourselves that when we return again to southern California we would have dinner at her main restaurant. We were not disappointed, even with covid lingering still.
We made our reservations well in advance for our first night's dinner while staying in West Hollywood. When we arrived we used their valet service for our car. This night, the valet service was really busy in and out. You might want to try to self park if street parking is available. Otherwise, be prepared to wait with others.
We entered the restaurant and the room was packed. The greeter offered outside seating if we preferred. We didn't know until then that it was available. So, we opted for outside. That turned out to be an excellent and safer choice for us. It was the perfect ambience with seating apart, heaters for the tables, nice space tented and a view of a "mysterious woman seated on a balcony" and being visited by a number of people. At first, we thought it was Nancy. Then, realized it must be some other well known person. Still don't know.
Back to the service and food: our server, Shane, was very good at answering our questions and making suggestions, not to mention taking care of us througout. My wife just ordered the Mista salad since she had a pretty good late lunch. Well, she/we did order the pane bianco which was just the best bread. As you may know, Nancy is quite famous for her breads. It is to die for. We also shared a side order of their Arancine. Again, it was quite a dish with seven (yes, seven) balls of good size, sprinkled with grated cheeses (our choice).
I ordered the meatball pizza. It was the entire pizza so I had leftovers to eat several days later. I'm not a fan of flat pizzas usually, but this one was quite good. I'm sure you have to credit again Nancy's dough.
To top it all off, I ordered for dessert the gelatto/sorbetto, including quite a large waffle topping. That was quite a surprise, and delicious dessert. You've got to try it!
Needless to say, we enjoyed our first night out at Pizzeria Mozza in L.A. and were very happy....except for the parking!
Amazing food and service just outside of what I considered downtown LA, in a cute family area Hancock park
Awesome food and great service just out of the crowded downtown LA area. Stumbled upon it after leaving the touristy scene.
Be the first to ReplyMarrying wines… Average food… Poor service
Firstly I find it disgusting that a restaurant charging £10+ for a glass of wine, can marry wines (and not even the same type).
The food was classical American pizza type, not far off from the well known California Pizza Kitchen and not worth £15 a pizza. The dough was under seasoned and left you wanting more.
Service was disappointing - quick to clear your plates, but not to take your order or deliver your order.
Overall a truly disappointing experience. Save your money!
This Pizza was some of the best Pizza that I have ever eaten.
Our dinner was extraordinary and memorable. Our appetizer started things on a high note. The Caprese was unbelievable. The Pizzas were phenomenal. Some of the best that I have eaten. As others have mentioned, the crust is unique and superb. We ordered 2 different pizzas -- both excellent wood-fired pizzas. Our Butterscotch Budino was an outstanding ending to the meal. Fernando was our server -- a true professional -- very knowledgeable and astute. It's worth the visit!

We made an online reservation for 9:00pm.
We went to Pizzeria Mozza especially for pizza, and when we were about to order, they told us they ran out of pizza dough... so they offered us pasta from Osteria Mozza. When we asked for one pasta dish, they told us they did not have that specific pasta. The pasta portion is insulting for an adult human being, also considering the high price. Because of the pizza inconvenience, they sent us an appetizer and dessert as courtesy, but when the bill came they tried to charge us for the dessert.
Even though we arrived to the reservation completely on time, they were rushing us since the beginning, picking up everything from the tables around us, leaving us all by ourselves on the sidewalk and making us feel uncomfortable and not welcomed.
This was a recommendation from a tour guide, but we would not recommend this place in our experience. It is absolutely disappointing.
Pizza-focused restaurant (Bib Gourmand)
Pizza-focused restaurant (2019 Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient) that’s good for casual meals as well as special occasions. They’re currently open for indoor as well as outdoor dining during covid, as well as takeout. Came here for a bday dinner with the fam, and made a reservation online for 5:30 on Sunday (right when they open). There was a line when we arrived which both walk-ins and reservations need to wait in. Valet parking or you can try parking further on the street (but read the signs, a lot of spots are for residential permits). Credit cards are accepted and there are two single occupant restrooms available inside (gender-neutral). Dogs were allowed for outdoor dining.
Food wise, you came here for the pizza. 3 pizzas fed four of us well, although you could certainly order a pizza per person and have some leftovers. The pizzas come sliced in four. The salame is essentially a meat lovers pizza, the Napolitana is salty (but in the best way possible thanks for the anchovies and olives, and the spigarello was a white sauce with onion cream (also super yummy). I don’t know how they do it, but the pizza crusts are one of the best ones I’ve ever had. The butterscotch budino for dessert was silky smooth and decadent. It came with two little rosemary cookies which was a nice offset to the sweetness. Service was professional and efficient.
