Piattini Boston Reviews from The Last Year
Eat the Piattinis
A fantastic italian restaurant in Newbury! I highly recommend ordering several piattini (small portions). That's the best way to do it... I also recommend the rigatoni alla vodka.
Great pasta
We sat outside table. The Newbury St view looks nice. The pasta was VERY delicious. It reminds me the pasta we had in Italy. The price was reasonable. Strongly recommend.
Don’t miss the fried eggplant appetizer! Might be my favorite tomato cream sauce ever!
The restaurant was small, warm and cozy. The staff was happy to have us despite closing in 30 minutes upon our arrival. The food portions were large and could be shared and we left there feeling well fed and wonderful.
One of my go-tos in Boston for Italian food for many years.
Their dishes have a great depth of flavor. Absolute favorites include the bolognese pasta and the fried eggplant appetizer--they are a cut above most other Italian restaurants'.
The lobster was fresh.
I had a small piece of shell in one of the raviolis. We sat at a table in the bar area so the bar tender waited on us. Full glasses of wine. An intimate restaurant below grade in Back Bay. Definitely coming back.
We have eaten at Piattini many times.
They have a lunch menu with many choices. Yesterday all of us chose the sandwich with soup or salad. Comfortable warm atmosphere. Good food. Love to eat here after shopping on Newbury St.
Outstanding!!!
The service and food were outstanding!!! We had such a pleasant experience. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Boston.
Food was good not outstanding service was outstanding.
Space was nice. I would go back and try other things on the menu. I had a salad with grilled chicken. Salad was good. A bit salty and the chicken was thrown on top and seemed like it was cooked the day before. My daughter had scampi and it was perfect.
Piattini is a very cute restaurant on Newbury Street.
I came here for a solo dinner and ordered the lobster ravioli. The ravioli was delicious with a good sauce to pasta ratio. It's great place to have dinner people watch when it's warm outside. The server was patient and attentive. Would definitely recommend!
Cozy Italian restaurant on the happening Newbury street.
We had Melanzane affunicate for appetizers. The tomato truffle scream sauce introduced multitude of flavors in our palette. Fusil pesto and pollo parmigiano were primi and secondi orders. Their portions are on the larger side. We ended up carrying half the food home. In-house tiramisu cake is a perfect dessert to culminate this awesome dining experience. We will be back whenever we are in downtown Boston.
Update to my earlier review.
Went there without a reservation, and they were able to accommodate us at the bar which was super casual. Had the meatball appetizer and the Scampi. Both were excellent.
The food was good and the ambiance was great.
We sat on the patio outside and had a nice view on Newbury St. The only thing for me is that it is very expensive.

This is my very first dinner in Boston and I loved it! The restaurant is half basement of the building. Reminds me of NYC. Our server was very polite and friendly, foods are great. We got mussels, 2 pastas and complimentary bread and it was plenty. Couldn't finish the pasta and couldn't have desserts. But looking at next table, those desserts look so delicious too. Definitely try next time!

I went here cause I was craving Italian food and this had good reviews. My sister and I didn't think we could finish a pasta dish so we opted for a pizza. It was goat cheese and prosciutto with arugula. This was the perfect size for my sister and I. The pizza had a nice sweetness that balanced the saltiness from the prosciutto. I love goat cheese so that added a great flavor as well. Goat cheese and prosciutto are a great flavor combo. Our server was great and not too attentive. The ambiance was calming and we could hear ourselves talk which was nice. The pasta looked really good too so I would love to come back and try it.
A gem! Gluten-Free friendly!
After walking into several popular restaurants on Boylston that had hour long waits, we asked at the front desk of the Lenox hotel for suggestions for places that might not be as crowded and he suggested this place. They were busy and there was a wait for a table, but there were two open seats at the bar and we grabbed them and had a fantastic dinner. The couple next to us was having a wine flight, so we decided to do that and both got red flights that had a blend, a valpolicella and a barbera. All were good, but the blend was our favorite. This place smells of garlicky heaven, and we were starving. We ordered a dairy and gluten free veggie pizza to share as an appetizer because we really wanted garlic bread and that was our closest option. And it was by far the best gluten free pizza we've had. Lots of dairy free melty cheese and veggies and a crust that was crunchy on the outside and delicious. We both got the salmon for our meal which was roasted perfectly, crisp on the outside, moist inside and melted in our mouths. It came with roasted Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes, and there was a red pepper sauce on the salmon. We took half home after inhaling the pizza. Great service, nice atmosphere and phenomenal food. Can't wait to go back.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.

I have a similar question, it seems like when money is refunded it doesnt go immediately what is the process of this since its essentially a debit card and not a credit card
