Really, really good
Very busy/popular restaurant in the Spanish Quarter. We were able to get in for an early sitting before the crowds flocked in - but we were never made to feel rushed - very friendly and helpful wait staff. Small wine selection - but found an excellent Chianti. Excellent mains - veal scallopini with lemon and tagliata steak. Mixed vegetables as sides. For dessert, lovely fresh strawberries simply presented with lemon and sugar. Memorable evening.

Lots of smoke and little roast. The staff is courteous and quick in service. Abundant and very varied homemade starter. Genovese and provola pasta and very good potatoes, scialatelli and spaghetti with clams sent back. House wine rejected. Very nice and characteristic atmosphere but, overall, the food is not so good.

Very delicious food! Quick service. Rating 10 for Gennaro, who served us with great efficiency and delicacy. He jokes with customers and works happily. It transmits this joy and this makes a big difference in service. Congratulations, Gennaro!!

TOP experience! Spectacular house starter and Genoese, definitely worth a visit. Friendly and very helpful staff (:
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Genoese pasta
We arrived on the recommendation of a friend, a restaurant with typical local cuisine. We ate a mixed starter suggested by the owner, followed by Genoese pasta. Abundant and everything excellent. Reasonable price I recommend it
Be the first to ReplyIn Naples for the third time (and I'm not dead yet😉).
Nice atmosphere, welcoming and friendly staff. Excellent and plentiful food. Maximum availability to satisfy the customer. We stayed there for two evenings with great satisfaction.

Exceptional place, excellent staff, delicious and quality food... shall I say anything else? Fully satisfied. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The Osteria il Gobbetto contains all the soul of Naples, a small, obviously chaotic place, the "mask" staff entertains the customer and at the same time takes orders and serves the tables.... juggling the little space that there is 'It's between one table and another almost like a dance. Generous starter, as are the first courses. Excellent value for money. For those who have never been to Naples and for those who are returning and want to dive back into the truth, it is certainly one of the places I recommend.

This restaurant was the worst restaurant I have ever been to not because of the food because of the rudeness of the staff. First I had multiple staff bashing into my chair when I had to change seats they did not apologise for this. Then I was not allowed to ask about a particular food on the menu. Our main courses took at least an hour to arrive. I then asked politely if a paper bag could be cleared off the table when we were eating and I was made a spectacle of in front of every guest in the restaurant and shouted at. Please do not go here if you are looking for a nice restaurant while on holiday. It is not worth it. It completely ruined our evening. The manager apologised to me but it did not save the fact the male member of staff in question had been so completely disrespectful and rude to a customer.

Made a rez thru hotel based on these reviews about seafood and pasta. Boy, TripAdvisor really falls down this time. Four of us arrived on time, were seated quickly and then a waiter came and suggested some local appetizers and "house wine - 6 Euro" while we think about dinner. (BTW, we never saw a menu). We were feeling festive and said "sure" and out came 8-10 of the most mediocre plates of food. Boiled shrimp, fine. Boiled broccoli rabe turned to bitter mush. A few tablespoons of small flavorless white beans with croutons, 4 tasty mozzarella balls with tomatoes, some fried pasta which was literally deep-fried lasagna noodles, 4 tiny cold-in-center meatballs, a plate of fried anchovies. All in all a ton of plates that tasted like not much. The wine? We sent it back and purchased a 20 Euro decent wine. Their house wine was sour and about to turn. So after all of this mediocrity, the waiter says he had a few suggestions. Pasta with tomatoes, bacon and cheese, pasta with shrimp or mussels, pasta with this or that. He never mentioned eggplant or fish or anything other than pasta which, btw, turned out to be more mediocrity. Watery tomatoes, a few pieces of ham (not bacon) and undercooked macaroni?? Seafood pasta - let's call it 20 strands of pasta - with eensy teensy tiny clams and 5 small mussels. We had had enough and just wrapped it up and wrote it off to crazy tourist reviews. If you go please tell them to bring you a menu or tell you EVERYTHING they make. Don't fall for the American tourist menu. We're not rubes. And a Michelin star?? You've got to be kidding. If they have one, McDonalds has 10. Sorry to be so brutal but hate being taken for fools when we were so happy to spend money and have a great meal. (BTW - enjoy Naples! It's fantastico!)

Great local atmosphere , great service and great food. Service was way and beyond, very fair prices, loud local restaurant made this a great experience. We enjoyed every minute of it.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food!
The appetizer plates were on the menu for 10 euro. Keep in mind that that is PER PERSON. We didn't realize that until we had ordered the appetizers for the 'table' then also ordered entrees. So, we had a 100 euro tab and more food than we could eat. However, this was, by far, one of the best meals we had in Italy. The only thing I didn't like was the meatballs- they were really bad, but my husband liked them. I even ate the anchovies! And, I don't usually like anchovies at all!

This is Napoli! A Family Trattoria, busy, noisy, full, great food, great service, absolutely everything you want in a real trattoria. We had one of the best dinner experiences in Napoli, great food and great wine!

Everything was delicious. Our server couldn’t have been better. The cook did a phenomenal job. Everything is fresh and delicious. We got a taste of Naples at this restaurant, and wish we could give 6 stars instead of 5.

Wonderful food and great service very cheap drinks very friendly waiters and waitresses. Had great Italian music on in the background. Nice and cool inside great to get away from the summer sunshine. Would definitely return here again.
Be the first to ReplyAn incredible restaurant in the heart of Naples!
What a wonderful treat it was. We arrived to this restaurant which was on the Michelin guide. I suppose family owned, the food was unbelievable. We had to wait for our table ( we did not have a reservation and they were kind enough to find us a table) and they offered complimentary wine. The food was incredible, service was extremely friendly. There is a bonus! Not expensive at all! If I come back in Naples I will make sure to stop by and have dinner again with you!
Be the first to ReplyA great break from pizza
On our 4th night in Naples it was time to take a break from delicious pizza. Luckily we stumbled by this fantastic family run restaurant. Welcomed and attended to speedily we were treated to an awesome meal. My guard must have been down as I said yes to a sample of Neapolitan appetitizers, which numbered about 9 different tasty starters. Not free btw but about €10 per person. The pasta dishes to follow were equally fantastic. When we left the crowds queuing to get in explained the speedy service.
