This is definitely my favorite shabu spot.
The meat is high quality, good veggie options, and the broth is delicious! My issue with a lot of hot pot places is the broth isn't very flavorful. My go-to is their house special broth and I ask for 1-2 drops of their capsaicin sauce (spicy!) for the broth and/or in my side sauce. Service is always good - quick to bring your food and anything you need. I usually get there right when they open for dinner at 5pm and never have to wait, but by the time I leave there are a few parties waiting for a table.

So delicious! One of my favorite hot pot places and I have been to a lot! Their sauces are very good! Very filling and service is always great! Get there early line gets long.

Hit up One Pot Shabu for dinner yesterday and it was legit amazing. Got there at 5pm and the line was short, so we were pretty stoked to be seated quickly. The servers were super helpful, walking us through the menu and how everything works - felt like VIP treatment. They also check on us periodically to refill hot tea and broth. The food was delicious - the meat was tender, the broth was packed with flavor, and those veggies? Fresh as can be. And don't even get me started on the udon noodles - so good. But the real MVP? Their dipping sauce. It took the meal from great to mind-blowing. The vibe of the place plus the top-notch service made our night. One Pot Shabu is the spot, no doubt. If you're in the mood for some higher quality hot pot, this place won't disappoint.

Hands down my favorite shabu place that I have found in the bay area! The store itself is pretty small but you can put your name on the waitlist and walk around the plaza. I always go with the garlic miso broth and a regular size american kobe beef. It comes with various veggies (napa cabbage, tofu, carrots, etc) and rice (white or purple). I love that you can ask for special hot drops that really spice up the meal. I usually ask them to put it in the broth as well as my ponzu sauce. The service is quick and efficient!

Good quality meat and broths. Small place but worth the wait.

The best tasting hotpot with no bad after effects the day after (like feeling like u ate junky food). Like people are saying in the reviews, the broth is very clean and they give u a complimentary box full of veggies with an order of meat which i love! I tried the miso garlic broth this time and my bf tried the seaweed and he liked it. I think i would get that next time. The service is good and the quality of meats are good as well! I would def recommend and when i went in the evening there was a wait time of about 20 mins.

(Ryan Reynolds voiceover) The vibe was fab & intimate setting for dinner with your fave IG supermodel. Yes, I'm talking about One Pot Shabu Shabu. Emery warmly greeted us. Bobo also made sure our meal went perfect! We ordered the Garlic Miso Broth for both of us. Flavorful; not overwhelming. A5. A generous serving! Wonderful marbling. Decadent. I just had to show the gorgeous mademoiselle my proprietary technique to cook the meat. I demonstrated there was something magical about the number 8 to achieve a perfect mind-blowing experience! Yes, she agreed! mmhmm. Ribeye. Hearty! Delish. And of course my 008 technique works with all meats dipped in that bubbling hot broth goodiness. To virtue signal, I even ate all the mushrooms, spinach, napa cabbage, and carrots. She took exceptional delight in watching me eat ALL the greens. I do love veggies w/ lots of delish broth. Finger-licking good! Isn't that right, ladies? I could eat that all day and night. It's like a V8! Healthy! Would order everything again! Will relive that fab evening over and over again! Thanks Emery & Bobo! Woohoo!

I haven't been to One Pot in many years and the quality had gone down significantly. The Kobe beef slices were cut so thin that it just fell apart when I picked it up with my chopsticks. The lamb shoulder slices were better in comparison but I've had better quality meat elsewhere. They were generous with the green noodles as it came in two blocks for my order. The sukiyaki set also did not come with an egg, which kind of defeats the purpose. Lastly, I would highly suggest that you check your bill before paying. I caught that they inadvertently charged me for drinks ordered by the table next to us. It could've been an honest mistake so this is why you should always double check the itemized bill before they ring you up in the Square app. Let's just say this did not really satisfy my sukiyaki cravings and I've had better quality food and experience elsewhere.

As I sit down to write this review, I can't help but feel disgusted by the experience I had at One Pot. As a hot pot lover I have been to countless Shabu restaurants, but this one left a sour taste in my mouth, and it wasn't just the food.Let's start with the service. From the moment I walked in, I was treated like an inconvenience. The hostess barely acknowledged our presence and the server was no better, barely paying attention to my needs and taking forever to bring out my food. Shabu shabu is literally comprised uncooked ingredients and One Pot has no excuse taking 30 minutes to prepare the food. Now, let's talk about the food. To say that it was disappointing would be an understatement. The "premium" beef was tough and flavorless, and the vegetables were wilted and unappetizing. The miso broth tasted like it was straight out of a packet, and the sauces were bland and uninspired. And don't even get me started on the prices. I have had better shabu shabu at a fraction of the cost. But what really sets One Pot apart is their utter lack of respect for their customers. They seem to think that their mediocre food and terrible service are enough to justify their exorbitant prices. I can't believe they have the nerve to charge so much for such a subpar experience. In conclusion, I would not recommend One Pot to anyone. The service was terrible, the food was disappointing, and the prices were outrageous. Save your money and go somewhere else if you want a good shabu shabu experience.

Good food! I always love shabu shabu! Especially on a cold winter day! Service was amazing (I always ask for extra ponzu and peanut sauces and the servers were fast to deliver), there was no one there though on a Friday for lunch so I wondered why. I hadn't been out in a long time so I didn't realize how much prices have gone up for eating out, and said to myself maybe this is why there weren't many people out for lunch. But regardless the food was amazing!

This is one of my favorite hot pot spots--both to go and to eat there! Super high quality of meat and vegetables, delicious broths, and good portions.
Be the first to ReplyLet me start by saying that pre-COVID, we had shabu shabu
Let me start by saying that pre-COVID, we had shabu shabu at least every other weekend. For years. This was our first experience in three years. We just had a great meal at One Pot. We signed up on the wait list and we're able to be seated at the counter in les than 10 minutes. The service was excellent, the meat was tender and vegetables fresh. We each had the Garlic Miso Broth and:Large American KobeSumo Rib-eyeSmall Kurobuta Pork (to share)Service was EXCELLENT. 4 stars because the hubby was refused a little extra rice for his Sumo platter, and they are not flexible at all with vegetable substitutions--no matter what the reason. I would also appreciate a spicier broth option, but overall, I LOVE this place and will be returning often I hope. It's the coziest shabu spot around. Thanks for a lovely hot meal on a cold day.

Super fast service with great quality of meat! It might seems like a small portion but the slices are huge. Each set comes with a plate of meat of your choice with different sizes and a plate of sorted veggies with rice. I tried to spicy kimchi and garlic miso. I prefer the spicy kimchi more even tho it barely tasted like kimchi broth. They do provide 2 different sauce, sesame and ponzu. The ponzu one is more sour than I'd like. If you want extra spicy, they do offer "hot drops". I usually ask for 1 but this time I asked for 2 drops....I could barely use the sauce after lol. The restaurant is a bit small and it does get busy around dinner time.
Be the first to ReplyBeen coming here weekly for many years now.
One Pot has been consistently good. Amazing broths and fresh vegetables and udon. Love the ponzu sauce and enjoy the cozy ambiance. Service is good.
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite hotpot spot! Great service & clean.
4ever seafood, extra spicy kimchi with mixed grain rice.
Be the first to ReplyStill the best shabu spot in town in to this day.
Never fails to disappoint with the broth and the service. I like how they have a lot of veggies and the clear noodles are my favorite. We always get the garlic miso broth and the angus ribeye entree. We often come here because it's the original. The one in the SJ (Almaden) location doesn't taste the same. I like how dim it is inside as it gives an intimate setting. Perfect for date nights on a cold evening. They used to have outdoor seating, but my guess is that they've taken it down since there was the storm and it's too cold outside for guests. They might bring it back when the weather gets warmer. Besides all that, One Pot is our favorite shabu place. No one can compare. You pay for quality here.
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately their outdoor seating is permanently closed.
... This is so sad... now we need to look for another shabu restaurant that offers outdoor seating....
