Hugely enjoyable Sunday lunch
My son and I visited on for Sunday lunch. We opted for the tasting menu, including a glass of wine. The restaurant wasn’t busy and the serving staff were polite and attentive. Excellent food, from bread and olive oil right through to the dessert. The highlight of the meal has to be the rack of lamb; so tender and tasty! Bookmarked this place for a return visit next time I’m in this part of the world!

We went to celebrate our birthdays with friends fantastic service the food was stunning. Was very tasty and well presented and plently of it. It was expensive but well worth it. We will be going again in the near future.
Be the first to ReplyIf the owner doesn’t care…….
We had our reservation for 4 cancelled a day in advance as they taken a booking for the whole restaurant. Fair enough and we were begrudgingly offered starters on the house if we rebooked. Ate there tonight and when we reminded the waiter before the bill came we were told they’d only knock off two starters. Service was a shambles. Waited twenty minutes for bottled water which we asked for three times. Three starters came then one later, two mains then two later. Staff no idea about menu or how to place order on iPad. It seems everyone is new and untrained. Waitress three days, head waiter 10 days. The delightful front of house lady (three weeks) tried really hard to rectify the situation with the starters and expressed our dissatisfaction to the boss who was sat at a table but didn’t come over. She managed to get him to knock off three starters. I said it wasn’t what we’d been offered and was incredibly petty but he wouldn’t budge. I won’t be going back.
Be the first to ReplyHigh price - low service - ok food - better options available
Only upmarket element here are the prices. The food was good but service and management well below their price bracket. Amateur staff who linger and keep pushing for you to order expensive dishes and insist on telling you all the price of each dish. Failed to deliver all starters together. Failed to deliver mains together but hovered to push you to order drinks that we didn’t want. Mentioned the poor delivery service and no apology Twice they started to clear dishes when guests still eating No training whatsoever The whole way of serving is amateur and like a cafe not a good restaurant. Doubt we will go back, great shame. Have been before but it’s all gone downhill Far better options about

Amazing Restaurant, everything was delicious and the service was great! Highly recommended! I will definitely come back here again.
Be the first to ReplyRude owner and chewy steaks
They pack in as many tables as they can. No space to breath. Me and my wife ordered medium rare steaks. They then arrived chewy as anything. We sent them back and asked for them to be re-cooked . The owner then came over to tell us why we were wrong and how that is what rib eye are meant to taste like. Ermmm, I’ve had medium rare steaks before and they were not like eating chewing gum. He was very rude and intimidating. Much better ‘expensive’ kosher places in London.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing service and atmosphere; management not willing to take responsibility
We've been to One Ashbourne a number of times since it first opened and noticed on this occasion a distinct change in the standard of service, atmosphere and presentation of the restaurant. On entering, napkins were piled up in front of the bar with an iron - as if mid-laundry, there was a pile of aprons stacked up on a table, the salt beef slicing machine was on one side. The whole entrance area looked like a dumping ground and whilst there were plenty of staff, it took a few moments for someone to come and meet us. On being seated, we were given a mix of menus, some in proper binders, others just as stapled photocopies. When we went to order, we were immediately told that we really should order something to start because there would be a long wait for main course. However the restaurant was by no means full - there were about 4 or 5 tables occupied, one of which was at dessert. We went ahead and ordered foccacia. My husband ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc. First of all he was brought a glass of red wine, then was brought, by the manager (who was scruffily dressed), a glass of pinot and was told they were out of sauvignon. Barely an apology and he virtually pushed that as an alternative. When the 'foccacia' arrived, it was clear that it wasn't proper foccacia, it was toast bread with some dips. It was clearly misrepresented on the menu. We then waited a further45 minutes for our main courses. Through our wait we had the misfortune of witnessing one of the senior waitresses arguing with the Manager. After about 30 minutes someone came to say that our food would be coming shortly. It didn't. When the food finally arrived, it was the only think that rescued a really poor evening, with the exception that the fat wasn't sufficiently rendered on the rack of lamb. The food was really tasty and well presented and the chips were excellent. It was very hard to get the attention of staff and one staff member started to clear our plates before all the table had finished eating. I asked her to stop. Eventually, we managed to get the attention of the senior waitress who asked us how things were and I noted that it was unpleasant to have witnessed her and the manager arguing throughout our meal. To her credit, she apologised. At no point, despite the various issues we'd had were we offered any reduction or gesture of good will. The junior staff need training in not leaning across guests when clearing. Given the quality of the food, we decided to allow the service charge but on reflection we really shouldn't have, for what was an expensive meal for 5 people. As I was leaving (and waiting for my father-in-law's coat which took forever to be returned), the Manager asked how the evening was. When I reiterated that it was very unpleasant to be witnessing him and the waitress arguing, he sought to justify it as a problem between her and the kitchen. At no point did he apologise or really listen to my feedback. A really disappointing end to a woeful evening. Whoever owns One Ashbourne needs to take a serious look at the management.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing experience in what should be an excellent restaurant
We have been before to this upmarket kosher restaurant. I have to say the food , when we received it , was excellent, but the service was terrible. The problem was not the waiting staff who really tried their best , but within the kitchen . Clearly, there were too many tables , the restaurant was full and the kitchen just could not cope. We arrived at 7.35 pm as booked and our order was not taken till 8.05. The first course which was soup, took 25 minutes to arrive and the main course followed on well over an hour later. There were people who arrived after us who got served before.so clearly there was disorganisation in the kitchen. My advicevwould be that if some of the tables were removed then the kitchen would not be under so much pressure. The owner attempted to put things right by offering a free desert, but the comment from him that it was not a kebab house and I shouldn’t necessarily expect everything quickly, was, quite frankly out of order. It certainly did not have kebab prices there! We will not return as it was disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyGreat to have a local restaurant with class
Brilliant service , delicious food and a very classy decor and atmosphere. 5* all round . Great specials on Sundays and Tuesdays
Be the first to ReplyFood tasty, experience shambles
The food was nice - not hugely better than any other NW London kosher restaurant, but nice enough. The experience however was hugely unpleasant. From walking in to all the restaurant's laundry all over the entrance with the iron left out on a table and chairs all stacked at the side, to the lack of staff meaning one poor waitress (who was working her absolute hardest) was RUNNING between tables and jumping steps to the kitchen to try and keep on top of the orders. Took an hour to have our order taken, drinks orders were never taken, people in the restaurant were having to go to the kitchen to ask for condiments / drinks etc. This wasnt a luxury experience and wouldnt be somewhere I would return to.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Place To Eat. Would Highly Recommend
Always have a great meal here. Food is beautifully presented and tastes great. The team who work here are really good - very professional. Would recommended to anyone looking for a good meal in north west London
Be the first to ReplyThe worst kosher restaurant in London
The chicken soup was revolting. My steak which I ordered rare was served very well done and they said that's how they make their steaks. It cost £80... Football was on very loudly and disturbing customers. Avoid. Frauds.
Be the first to Replyoh what a great place to party and Kosher !!!!!

Great cocktails. Great service. Hit up the duck salad and rack of lamb's. Overall great restaurant The atmosphere was very warm , the staff and owner was very welcoming. Great place for a fancy dinner.
Be the first to Reply“What do you want me to do about it ?” Said the waiter
Went here for a salt- beef bagel today . When it arrived it was covered in mustard . I said I didn’t like mustard and the reply was “ What do you want me to do about it ? “ The waiter very grudgingly took it away . The replacement came with the smallest amount of salt - beef I have ever seen it must have weighed 20g at the most ! The waiter then asked me how I was enjoying my bagel and I mentioned that the amount of salt - beef was very disappointing. He told me everyone praises the salt - beef bagel and got very defensive ! Certainly won’t be returning back there . Will stick to Grill Bar on Brent Street in future where you get a fabulous amount of salt - beef and get served with a smile
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, service beginning to improve
After a 2 year hiatus because of Covid, I'm on the road again, and have now been to One Ashbourne a couple of times recently. Tonight's visit was noticeable in that as of last week there is now a new manager. The main problem with this place (as mentioned in a few reviews) has been the service. The food has always been creative and excellent, but often the service has left a lot to be desired. So it was good to see that this seems to have been addressed (fnally). What can I say about the food? I have yet to try something disappointing! This evening I tried the duck confit salad starter and the lamb chops. Both looked and tasted excellent. To start I went back to one of my old favorites, the mushroom soup with truffle oil. On past visits I have had the beef tartare - probably one of the best I have ever had, and the breast of duck, also excellent. Food quality wise this place deserves to succeed. I hope the new manager succeeds in improving the level of service too. First indications are positive.

Be the first to ReplyMother's day lunch runied
We arrived at one o'clock for a reserved table. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Then two other tables came. A couple with two children and a father and daughter. So not a lot of people. First course came, soup, promptly hot and tasty no problem. Then we waited and waited and waited!!!! We asked were our main course was and we were told its coming or we were ignored. It did eventually come at 2. Two of the main courses were not hot!!!! Very disappointed bad services/bad food not worth the cost.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Kosher Restaurant - superb steak
We went for half price steak (Tuesdays) and were really impressed. Good service. Food came quickly. Steak was cooked to perfection and sides were tasty. will definitely come back.
Be the first to ReplyChips, chips, chips. Go for the chips.
We had a wonderful wedding reception here and it's a favourite of our new extended family who live nearby. I must commend our waiter who was so friendly and helpful. I started with a prosecco. The prices were daunting. The steak astronomically priced, but it is unusual to have steak from Uruguay and one of our group tried it.
They brought a vanilla ice cream ball with a candle on top for the birthday girl. The chocolate writing was well done. I thought they could have given her a real piece of cake/dessert. Ice cream is just an extra added to most desserts. The potatoes cost extra which was disappointing. However, the chips were wonderful, huge, delicious. Oh, those chips! Worth going there just for the chips.
Best steak in town!!
Excellent Uruguayan dry aged steak - get it whilst it lasts! Tasted the new Tuna carpaccio with chilli and ginger starter - amazing what the Chef is coming up with at Ashbourne!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent quality take away dinner.
Excellent take away meal.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner of superb quality from One Ashbourne.
Highly recommend the duck salad and the chicken breast dish. Excellent crumble too!!
Best Kosher Burger in town
The most delicious kosher burger with exceptional service ! The manager was extremely attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Very sad that tier three means it will be closed ! We can’t wait for it to reopen ! Emma and Caroline
Be the first to ReplyDon’t get their takeaway
One Ashbourne is a lovely restaurant with delicious food (although when we went in May 2019, despite having only 3 tables occupied service was slow. But One Ashbourne cannot do takeaway. Their burgers at £20 were chewy and dry and not a patch on some of the kosher take away establishments in Golders Green and Temple Fortune). The crispy duck wasn’t just crispy; it was so crunchy and dry, it was virtually inedible. I had ordered 4 portions of apple crumble but what arrived had a filling with raspberries and apples and a hint of crumble topping dusting the top. Though it was tasty, it was not an apple crumble (not everyone likes raspberries. And a delivery ordered for 7.30pm arrived just after 8pm (and a phone call explaining that the delivery would be late only came at 7.36 ie after the time that it should have already been with us. - no offer was made to repay or reduce the £10 delivery charge) Disappointing and very expensive for what it was. I know times are tough but if you offer a service at high prices, then that service must be delivered.
Be the first to ReplyNothing to write home about. Won’t return.
Nothing to write home about. Prices are EXTREME, even for kosher food. Decor is lacklustre, place wasn’t very clean. Service without a smile. For the price I’d expect much more. £15 child meal is a joke.
